Bug - TLP Players can stay logged in even after subscription runs out (1 Viewer)

So I logged off some of my boxteam to char select the other night knowing that when I logged in the next morning my subscription was going to be expired. Others I turned on their traders and just left them.

Every character I logged out TO the Character Select screen and left there did not disconnect and was able to log in the next day despite their subscriptions expiring.

Any character that remained logged into the game (my traders) was still disconnected and I had to krono them to use them.

I can't test this for another month but I think the fact that I left them sitting at character select made the system hiccup and it didn't disconnect me from the game which means I am still able to play the character's on the TLP servers.

Note: The reason I say this will *only* work for TLP players is because I noticed that on the character's whom are now Silver and still able to log into the TLPs - I can't use their augmentations, gain AA EXP on them or anything like that. For all purposes the game recognizes the character as SILVER - it's just still letting me play them on the TLP which is a GOLD only server.

Agnarr has the AFK kick still, although they extended the time before it kicks you to about an hour. The afk kick also happens from character select. I'm sure this works from LJ RF though. No clue if Phini has the afk kick in place or not.

Did you mean Character Select instead of Server Select? Because the game auto kicks you from the server select screen after being idle for 10 mins or so.

I'm going to assume no cause I can't do anything else that requires GOLD. Here is what my chars look like that are currently unsubbed:



I targeted a Mitigation of the Mighty mob to actually prove I am on a TLP. *if* this is reproduceable it's going to have a very limited range of uses. It'd mostly be useful if you were PLing alts and didn't need your augs/Prestige gear or if you were Plat farming and didn't wanna pay subscription time.

Heh if you had said yes, I would have burned a couple of Krono on TLP to gain some plat to get started buying out traders and setup a trader and started monopolizing the market on one of the TLP servers to farm plat, since Krono are probably cheaper on tlp.

Wait, is this legit? Do you need to stay logged in/at character select constantly? Or do you just need to be on character select when your sub expires?

I always thought this thread was just referring to staying logged in 24/7, which obviously the cost of electricity probably > your sub. However, if what you posted is legit, that's a very neat way to keep playing for free, especially on a server that's pre Luclin, e.g. Coirnav the Terrible

You need to stay logged in constantly. I haven't tested it again since it happened to me this one time so I can't confirm if it works or not all the time or if I just got lucky.


One thing though, there's no way that the cost of elecriticty is more than your sub. The subscribtion model is .50c a day for more mmorpgs. You should use 1/20th that to run your computer if it's doing nothing else but running EQ too. If you were running your computer at 100% like a crypto miner it still wouldn't be .50c a day

As long as you never log off, you can basically stay connected until the server comes down for monthly maintenance. Sometimes this can net you a few weeks, or only a couple days. If you have anything that are prestige such as augs, they won't work as stated above, because the game knows you're not gold any longer.

Sometimes if you are extremely lucky, your sub will expire just AFTER a monthly patch/maintenance, and you could go for almost a full month without needing to pop that krono.

One of the many many reasons I stopped paying for ISBoxer (the biggest being that I don't box more than a group anymore) is because of how frequent it would crash. I'm super cheap damn it, every free day counts!

You used to be able to reconnect quickly (like if your game crashed and you kicked the character), it would still let you back onto the server even if your account wasn't subbed anymore, but they fixed that about a year ago or so. That used to make it even easier to get free days/weeks.

Also, since this has come up in the past, if the only thing that is prestige is the aug, only the aug's effects will be disabled, the item it is in, while colored purple, will still give you it's full effects. Easily tested by unequipping a purple item and seeing if your stats change.

In the example above, I believe most of those items are from LDoNs, just based on the graphic of the items and the class/level. Also, I'm fairly sure most, if not all, augs in the game are prestige. (Never bothered to look)

Traders don't work if your account isn't gold.

BTW this isn't a TLP only thing, all servers are like this. It is however a lot more useful for TLP players, especially if you are living that krono life.

I think they might have nerfed this finally. My subs on 7 accounts ended today and I got kicked to server select one by one about every 15 minutes lol.

im logged in and playing with 0 days remaining. my group was even afk in pok all night and no one got kicked from the server...lets see how long it lasts
