This quest is for a Dog Whistle , a right clickable item that summons a mistwalker type wolf pet; In other words it will attack your target for 12 seconds and then poof. Not usefull for dps, but when used for pulling it is an excellent tool.

This quest starts in Icefall Glacier, right by the Steepes zone line. The quest giver's name is Alibee. Follow the text untill given the task Timmi Fell down the well. You will have to follow a wolf by the name La`see, (What's that girl? Timmi fell down a well?!?!), to a well and save poor Timmi from the well.
Golly, I sure do hope Timmi is ok.

The normal way to do this involves following La`See east of where the quest starts, and crawling / fighting your way past SEVERAL wolves, La`See will not follow you if you are inviz, you will see a message saying something along the lines of La`See can smell you but not see you, and she will just path back and forth untill you drop inviz and hail him again.

Once La`See is at the well you can start pulling & killing the two orcs that have captured Timmi and have him caged up in the bottom of the well. The orcs Summon and are unslowable unmezable, and are immune to changes in run speed. They hit for 1700ish, flurry and enrage towards the front, so just dps from behind and keep your tank up (Duh~)
Once the orcs are dead you have to attack the cage Timmi is being held in and hail Timmi and crawl back past the wolves to the quest giver's location.

Now you can do it the hard way or you can have an FD class, a bard with fade, or rogue with escape hit La`See for a small amount of damage, like the throw stone ability, or a debuff. Then run La`see around the wolves and to the well then FD, fade, or escape... Or you can of course /fade; then have a group member hail La`See to get him walking to the well again. Pull the orcs and blah blah blah.
Or.........
You can have a druid in your group walk La`See to the well. everyone else inviz and follow. ~>Druids are not KoS to wolves.<~

Send a rogue or an invized character into the well and have them target one of the orcs, have an sk or necro stand at the top of the well and assist the rogue or inviz person, then use a low level pet and attack the orc that was targeted.
when the pet dies, have the necro or sk back up and drag the orcs out away from the well some and FD, it would help to have a monk or another fd class in your group to grab one of the orcs prior to the sk or necro Fding, and then the monk Fd pulls one orc to the group.
Once both orcs are dead have the druid walk Timmi back past the wolves while the rest of the group is inviz and following.

and boom Timmi fell down the well is done in 5 - 10 minutes.

to hell with crawling through or kiting wolves.

Enjoy, and remember....

Dirty likes red cents too

I wonder...

What the damage output of the pet would be
If you can get the whistle at level 1
If that would be some crazy powerleveling tool

Can't be used at level 1 and besides, there is a recast timer.

Druids are also amiable...so let a ranger or druid do the actual following to the well, everyone else stay invis and run on ahead to the well or follow along invised. Once at the well, it really helps if you have a bard. All but bard stand against walls around the well as far back as possible...stay invis. The orcs in the well DO NOT see invis. Have the bard run down and tag the closest orc... then run back up as fast as he can... designate someone on the outside who is remaining invis to be the watcher/caller...this person will watch and as soon as the first orc that has just been tagged reaches the lip of the well and you catch sight of any part of that orc...you scream FADE...at this point the bard does fading memories...the 2nd orc who is not as far up will reset, but the first will be close enough to the bard to re-aggro...in this fashion you can catch him single.. you may need to practice this once or twice, but once you have it down, it is cake. These orcs hit HARD and are immune to most tools which split mobs...we tried a lot of different tactics, and we had a monk, a ranger, a bard, a druid, a SK, and a cleric.

If your fade split is not sucessful and both come up, everyone else is still invised so will not catch aggro, bard can run and fade until he clears aggro and the orcs reset..keep trying and you will get the 1st orc single.

Kill it, then pull the next as you desire and smash it. Immediately go down and let timmie out or more orcs will pop quickly... druid/ranger again stays uninvised and escorts timmie back..everyone else invis and follow or run ahead to Alibee.

Dog whistle gets equipped in ammo slot, sad for rangers, use your bandolier to set up a weapon set with this in the ammo slot, then you can hotkey that bandolier set and your normal and have it equipped with a single click.

The pet does last 2 ticks, parses at approx 200 damage max. However, it is great for pulling as the initial poster on this thread specified.

Good Luck with this.

Cheers,
Melon
