Ok, so I got MQ2 to work last night I tried to warp and it worked. But today I log on and there is nothing. Yesterday I had an extra chat screen and today its gone. I still have the Awhatever UI i redown loaded MQ2 and said yes to all. Is there a way to back time up and go back to yesterday so that I have MQ2 running again or do i need to buy a new computer.

I did this little section when I got home today and I am thinking that I shouldn't have.

How do I find my auth code?
Download MQ2 from macroquest2.com

Extract it to a folder.

Go to "My Computer"

Find the folder where you extracted macroquest2. Open it.

Double-click on the file called mq2auth.exe

Find the folder called MQ2Main. Open it.

Find the file called "mq2auth0.h". Open it with notepad.

That is your auth code.

Then I loaded my toon and my extra chat screen was gone. All that gibbrish was gone and I could not warp anymore. I am going to try to the system restore to yesterday because thats just like superman flying backwards really really fast right?

Ok stupid question - do you still have mq2 running? IE the icon by your system clock? are you compiling for yourself? I assume you are

I am new to MQ2 and the use of it. The biggest part that needs cleared up for me is; after the repatch of MQ2 do I need to have Auth codes or is the multi complie a version useable by all even without Auths?

The compiled version is usable by all. unfortunately we have to wait til they finish the mq2 update, and then one or 2 of the wonderful folks here compile it for us.

You can either grab the MQ2 update and run auth when it comes out, or wait and see who is nice enough to make a runable version for us. Soul and smokin both had compiles, army soldier is at the moment setting all the offsets he and others are making into one thread so you dont have to go looking for it.

I figured I would copy paste offsets in once I have the mq2 set that is current.

i downloaded the precompiled version and it dont work, i did everything as instructed but when i log start eq i get a small box stating wrong version and nothing happens when i type /who ingame. The only thing that i can percieve doing different is that i have downloaded the zip file to desktop.

anytime there is a new patch they must re do the mq2 to work. Give it a couple of days and they should post the new one. They are working hard on it so be patient. :D

is there a way to make a hot button for EQ which executes the command of using ALT key? example i want to make a hotbutton which will pop open my AA window, or a hotbutton that will open guild window without doing ALT g or cliking on new EQ button go to players and select guild.

Do you guys mind if you list some prerequisites such as:

1) download pdsk files
a. http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/sdkupdate/XPSP2FULLInstall.htm

2.) download visual c++ toolkit 2003
a. http://msdn.microsoft.com/visualc/vctoolkit2003/

3.) ect. ect. ect. (as examples) i have no idea what im doing so providing direction would not be to anyone's best interest.

being very specific could be helpful especially if you separate os specs with corresponding links towards specific links not just pages. TY

BTW, the links provided at the mq2 site as they flame people... i have downloaded the pdsk files as referred and am having problems getting through the installation. IMO-- if you list each prerequisite ... not just stating.. i downloaded the pdsk files and are working fine... cuz that is BS. C'mon guys, stating something like: i downloaded this and is working fine is not exactly a "guide".

all my sdk files are on my desktop.. do i move them all? whenever i click on them individually it asks me what program i want to extract it with.

i still do not have mq2 up and running... but so far i have lol:

1.) visual studio 6 pro
2.) pdsk files
3.) service pack 6
4.) found my auth #
5.) vs toolkit 2003
6.) hex workshop
7.) changed microsoft\ to microsoap\ both in auth and release

i had no idea from the outset that i would need all of this when somehow i initially thought getting mq2 up and running would be a simple process. i couldnt extract my pdsk files properly so i had to get vs 6 pro. This is a freakin headache.

I have downloaded the 12-10-05 MQ2, and downloaded pyronicide's compile from today. I did everything that I am told by the newbie guide, the shield is showing and everything, I open up EQ, type in /who and I don't get any window that I was told was going to pop up.

if you are compiling yourself.. read a few posts down and use the NO AUTH changes to mq2 code

Not aable to get this all to work. Very new to this and not have a clue how to do things properly. Reading again to try get it going..

Getting the message in a window called MacroQuest saying Incorrect client version...any help would be extremely appreciated.

Also can't open MQmain.dll I think to open mqauth0.h so I cam open with Notepad.

Sorry to be screwed up so good here but help I really need plz..

MQ2 needs to be "patched" after each EQ patch... The Devs have to locate the sourse and create the new compile... After that the nice and hard working peeps who make the pre-compiles available here for us will post them and update them as needed so the rest of us can be happy...

Basically, be patient, download new version when available, load it up, enjoy, and wait for next patch...

you need visual studio to compile the code downloaded from MQ2 site.. thats all raw code

If you want a ready out of the box setup .. see precompiles in the strats and cheats forum

if your doing the compile then re download the ZIP from MQ2

if your using someones PREcompile then ensure its one of the 2 or 3 stickied on strats and cheats forum .. here on RG

I've followed your guide perfectly but when im trying to complie it says
