The AFK Bard Macro

so would you suggest doing aa's at 65 or 70?

also, if you get the vxed mac that has all the mobs not to target to cast on, could a gimp geared bard do it? only taking a few hits but regening hp back up..think you could live all 6 hours? because the first few times i went to sleep and woke up and i was dead, so i sat and looked thru the forums on second comp and watched vxed mac go for about an hour and i didnt die, got hit a few times on mobs spawning but other than that i didnt...i think a named keeps spawning in that room and summoning me i dont have /log so i never knew how i was dying
 
I'd stay at 65, but thats just my opinion. get some instruments from the bazaar and if you're using mq2twist you'll easily be able to keep 4 dots on the mob a the regen song on you. I'd do it that way. twisting 5 songs basically renews the song that just faded during the same tick it faded so as long as its not resisted, you're not losing any dps.
 
what about my question on vxed? do named spawn in that room? (the given loc on the vxed thread)
 
i dunno, never done vexed. I just did the pop zones, first was disease, then valor, then halls of honor.
 
Yes, a named does spawn in the Vxed room. Misguided Creque or something like that. The named summons, so if you happen to land your dot on him, you'll be dead within 1 min. The logic behind switching targets by checking for level and going to next target if lvl > 66 doesn't work all the time. I know this for a fact because I used to run this macro all the time, do "/log on" and read the log if I come back from afk dead. The majority of the time it was because the named got dotted and summoned me, or I got stunned and died, or a venomous stonemite was targeted, dotted, and I was summoned and died.
 
Hi guys, awesome site! Im interested in running this macro, but being new ive hit a few snags. First off the link to the mq2twist download goes to a blank page, I guess they removed it. Upon searching for it I still cant find a download for it. Same problems with the other link mq2moveutils "post does not exist" comes up. Im at the stage now where im going to attempt to compile the acual mq2 files using visual basic, after 5 hours of udating windows to get the dang thing to work. I knew getting into this with my limited knowledge of codes that it would be rough, but im hoping if I can get links to the twist and utils codes I can fenaygle it to work. Thanks !
 
Have you tried to download one of the pre-compiles from this site ?

If so when you load up mq2 , /load mq2twist

then to use type twist 1 2 3 4 ... whatever

after you initially load mq2 from a pre-compile you can type /plugin list
that will show you what plugin's are currently loaded.

Then you can manually add whatever plugin's you want that came with the pre-compile.

Hope that helps..... I suck at most of this stuff by the way. Much more knowledgable people here then I.

Also, as far as the mq2 site.... I really would advise you to donate to their site and get access. There are ton's of great macro programs and information there to help you. They require a small donation for the private area, think around 10 bucks or so.

Welcome to Redguides!

First try downloading this pre-compile, It's an already compiled version of MQ2, including MQ2twist and MQ2moveutils. Click the Macroquest2.exe so it shows your taskbar, load up EQ and type /plugin mq2moveutils and then /plugin mq2twist. Make sure to save this macro as a .mac, say "bard.mac". Once in-game and at the spot you would like type /twist 1 2 3 4(or whatever the songs you want twisted are) then /mac bard after those two plugins are loaded and it should work.

Woot , thanks. Well I got it running already, targeting one works, and so does the twist one, now I just gotta get moveutils in there and im set. Grinded to lvl 12 on a bard and about to load it up and try now with busco bellow or whatever its called. My new question is, whats the number one way people get popped by gm's? Im guessing bragging about it probally, but what tips off gm's otherwise? Do they monitor how long people stay in one zone or aa/exp influxes? THanks guy site has been a huge help. : )
 
Damn, so close and yet so far. Now I open the mq2 program, and load in everquest, and none of the mq2 boxes are there, I didnt see a patch recently only thing I could think of why it would suddenly not work. : (
 
Does this still work? I am looking for a good afk xp macro for a bard...anyone got any recommendations? Thanks in advance.
 
Any good places for lvl 71/72 for good exp? You can PM me if you like. RCoD is just too slow after exp adjustment a month or so ago.
 
If you can get a macro to leave when you have no more mobs within a certain radius and have 3 characters to play with, use DoDh 69.1 The mobs don't summon albeit they do have a lot of hps.

To my macro, to make it fix the songbug where it will appear to be ready to sing, but says 'Spell recovery time not yet met.' I'm guessing it's a mq2twist bug. Seems to happen if it starts twisting the second the mob dies, with a targeted spell.
 
1. What is the Command to make selo's last longer, I saw it somewhere here before I got back to playing my bard... I cant find it for the life of me now.

It was something like /twist XXXX 3 to make Selos last an extra 3 ticks...

2. If I hotkey commands like /circle on 75 or /circle off, can the GMs find that? Should I just type those into the MQ2 Window? or does MQ2 stop its commands from reaching server side?

I'm still pretty new to MQ2 Usage, but learning... =)

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Your macros worked like a charm im lvl 62 and i kited all the way from 51, now how do i max out my def now, mobs blow me and its pretty much over. Any suggestions on where or how i can Max out my skills?
 
I went to Sanctus Seru with my level 75 Necro to get my defense (as well as offense, 1HB, and dodge) up. There is an Arena Master just outside of the arena who conned light blue to me (as a 75). His attacks are laughable, yet it took me nearly 30 minutes of meleeing him with my pet to kill him (he has more health than a level 76/77 mob in icefall). Anyway, during those 30 minutes, my dodge, offense, defense, and 1HB all maxed out and I was never in trouble of dying. You may want to wait a few more levels before ahacking him...and/or have a healer there with you to keep you healed.
 
I was wondering if this would work for a 26 bard? and where? i've tried just using circle and twisting an area and selo's but seems won't hit any mobs unless they are standing right next to me. I'm new at the bard thing any help would be appreciated.
 
i know this is probably a repost, and im sorry.. lol 37 pages is alot of posts to read... anyways.. I was just wondering where i could start running this at from 12 up.... lol i just made a bard and am working him to lvl 12
 
lmao so I decided to try runnin it it Field of Bone because its usually pretty empty on my server... well i started watching a movie and checked in on it... and some one casted a SoW on me... hope i didnt get reported lol anyways if anyone has better suggestion for zone then FoB let me know

I've had some issues with /circle in general. Unfortunately I have not taken the time to look into what is causing this since I know how to circumvent the issue. For me if I use lets say "/circle on 55" and then I break the circle before my mob is dead it appears to pause or lock the /circle command at that point and I can't just recircle. So I have to /pause circle, /unpause circle and then I can continue. Surely that made no sense nor applied to your situation, but there it is. Hopefully it will help someone along the line.
 
Actually, that is my problem. I never thought of pausing it, I just zoned and it fixed the problem. I was trying to turn it off and back on, and that was fixing nothing.

Can anyone assist as to why the circle continually breaks? Sometimes I can't even kill one mob.

Make sure you have nothing causing lag in the back ground. If you window out this can cause enough lag for mobs to catch you and beat you down. Also make sure there are no obstacles for you to get hung on causing the same outcome as above. Other than that, it boils down to pathing and luck.
 
Sometimes when I /circle, it won't even start running in a complete circle. It will run like a broken circle in one direction and then turn a bit and run another broken circle in the opposite direction.

Then being in Gunthak, I catch a mining cart and die.
 
Interesting, are you using the moveutils version with RedQuest v11.11, the compile put out by Jigs, or a personal compile?

I've been using the 11.11 version without this particular glitch. Does this happen everywhere or just Gunthak? What are you setting your circle at?
 
I used Request v11.11 and then update by Jigs.

It happens everywhere. I tried 50, it ran a while then bugged out, then I tried 65 and doesn't work.
 
I got it to work, for some reason I was getting caught up looking at certain area's in Dulak, so I looked at the ground. Now that all the bugs are looked at, I can go to a better exp zone.
 
would mq2exzactspeed work with this? i am dieing alot because i get a add and it is able to hit me when its adding.. stuns me... the 50 that are on me kill me... the problem is, i dunno how exzactspeed works... what would be a good value of speed to use?
 
I am using redquest... couldnt get MQ2Exactspeed to load... so i dont know what to do...
 
/docrack used to have a no stun ability, which is what you really need here, and is what I used to use when I was leveling. However, I have not needed to use that in a long time nor do I know if it is still working. It is an active hack and there aren't really any safe active hacks right now. I would say use at your own caution.
 
At 50 I headed to Plane of Nightmare to camp out the Nightstalkers, they are granting me 2.5% a kill at 50, and now 1.8% a kill at 51. At 52 I am pulling off about 1.5 per kill, I am starting to bug out again. Seems when I walk away it likes to run off into the ravens, treants and birds. unfortunately, it's not a good time.

As of now, the camp will respawn and the add will join the rest as you kite them around. So you don't have to worry about anything like that. In most cases you get 2-3 mobs at a time and before you kill the third one, you usually have two more to replace the ones you already killed.

Alright, this little tidbit of code here is what is messing me up.

Is there another way to clear target other than /keypress escape?

See, when my map is opened up on my screen I can circle for hours on end and never die, but the second it hits that /keypress escape and my map closes, I B-Line into a ton of mobs which stun me and kill me.

**UPDATE**

After posting this question, I tried one last thing, the obvious.

/target clear

In the MQ box it tells me, 'Target cleared' and does not close my map. I would put that into the macro just incase that might cause problems.
 
Marburyisgod, what I have noticed is if you press the ESC it will shut down your MQ2. But if you click on the group window it will lose your target. That is what I have been doing just clicking the group window to lose the target that I have selected. So if someone would want to have something setup to click the group window instead of having to press that ESC button that would be great.
