Hello, I just started TBL trials and from what I read, Trial of Three is easiest, however I have issue dealing with the AE of those mobs.

I check that they are PBAE of 100 yards. How do you guys position your healer/caster DPS for this?

Any suggestion would certainly help.

Ta.

You cant position anyone unfortunately. If you step outside the room you instantly get blinded. The event as it stands, is way overtuned for T2 RoS group geared people at the moment unless you have the right group makeup and you had better make sure that includes ALOT of dps and a cleric that really knows how to heal. Think of it as a raid encounter, 3 boss mobs, one after another with no time to med. If you dont move into the next room and engage the next boss within a minute you get kicked from the encounter. If you dont have the dps, you will run out of mana because the boss will stay alive longer, sucking your mana from your soul and adding to the amount of time he kills one or two of you which, you guessed it, leaves you with little mana!

Best bet right now is to go in with some raid geared peeps-get one done, then piggy back your own toons into Empyr. (once you win one of the trials you get door access to get into Empyr) You can then set up your campfire and fellowship into that zone for as long as you like....just dont forget to set up your campfire each time you are in there after the 2.5 days are up or you will find yourself unable to open the locked door anymore in Smoke to get back to Empyr and have to do another dreaded Trial to regain temp access.

The reason to just move to Emp in the first place is to gear up your group.

Happy Healing!

I did all 5 last week, wasn't too bad. Any specific questions? Just know where your going and where to setup quickly as possible. For trial 5 I literally spammed healed on my cleric and it was 50/50.

For setting up you can invis in almost every trial (which includes corpse runs).

My issue was ROS TS geared SK got smacked by the aoe and melee. Guess I'll have to gear up in Stratos

I agree with Surfdog, the trials are overtuned. I did the trial of the three, got one mob dead, and the next to 80% then went OOM and died to the dot. This is in full conflag and some ROS t1/2 items with about 32K AA on pretty much everyone in group.

I guess I need to be in Raid gear to do group content...

not sure how folks got it done but we have been trying with ros geared tank and crew and finding we just cant pump out the dps needed , tank dies sometimes and then you lose all the dang sigils , that sucks as well , think this expac just plain sucks in its current form.

OK I passed it but it's no easy feat on tank poping every single disc and 3 wiz doing crazy DPS.

hopefully subsequent attempts will be easier

I have gone over the logs and my 13 runs at the trial of the 3 always wiped at a point where my tank took a full to the face 300k+ damage in under 2 seconds with disc on. Each of the 3 named seems to do a flurry attack and bust out 6-8 swings back to back and even at 270k hp my sk drops because well 300k > 270k and that isn't counting the other damage from ae's etc.

I was able to do the maze/5 trial, it took a bit due to the wonky jump pads launching some of my toons to their death multiple times... buggy shit.

I tried the ashes trial yesterday and it bugged out a few times so I gave up. The named would warp under the ground when it pathed over the lava and kill the group without being able to fight back.

The rate limiting issue for me is my RoS Conflagrant geared cleric healing macro either not keeping up with heals (spamming Merciful Remedy, Spiritual Remedy, Graceful Remedy, Merciful Intervention, Group Heals) or running out of mana with Trial of Three. I find that the Trial of Wending Ways is a little easier because you can at least med up to full before engaging each of the 4 bosses, but getting there is a pain in the ass, and the first clue as to which mob to attack seems wonky to me. My three wiz for dps seems very lacking when several of the minis are highly magic resistance.

My question is anyone else run 3 Wiz through these missions, and what could you do to get past the mobs high magic resists.
What cleric macro worked well for you for Trial of Three?

Thanks

The key to knowing what boss to engage on wending ways is to look at all the portals. After the event starts, its says "ambassorder is ready for you now" a few seconds later all portals have an element over them

Its random on every portal, explore and see which element is the majority spawned at the time, if you see ~ 7 fire and 3 water 2 air 1 earth, then Fire is the boss
It appears - if you fail then the portals don't respawn the element, so don't go into wrong room - if you do drop task and start over.

I ran autocleric for Trial of three, whole group was conflag geared and it was NP, but it was a melee group..

Same thing Mongo said,
I was able to do Wending ways, Trial of three and Ampitheater without issue " Other then my own mistakes of killing incorrectly"
My group is RoS T2 geared and ran autocleric , all melee group War,Ber, Ber, Brd, Shm, Cler

I tend to get like 9 2, 2 sometimes go figure

Wending ways - sometimes portals don't seem to work properly. I had 3 toons stepping on the same stone the other day; 2 went to the right area and the 3rd one ended up somewhere else.

if auto cleric is out healing your KA ini's you should change your heal % to start healing at a higher number and if your cleric has a dps section set up turn it off for them events your having healing issues with

I am having an impossible time on the Cyclone trial. Mge, Bst, Shm, SK, Enc, Clr. Any tips please.

Thanks a lot, ill give it a whirl! When you run kiss, do i just load three to the SK and three to the Mage pet as far as assisting goes?

Id keep ranged damage up top as the boss is perma rooted and doesn't summon while just keeping enough downstairs to keep up with the adds

No dice, not enough DPS. They combine and then I poof...ill keep trying. When the pet tanks the mge can't run macros hey? I have to run the mage manually. Sorry for my ignorance. I am still learning.

DPS will clearly be your problem. Not sure you have enough but try the following:

SK / SHM / CLR / BST down below, ENC / MAG up top.

Below:
- Make sure your CLR/SHM are both meleeing, use Dissident Roar on every mob.
- Equip a 2H weapon on the SK assuming it doesn’t get you killed. Spam Wounding Blade / Viscious Bite of Chaos / Dissident Roar / Dire / Dots to maximize DPS.
- Shaman should be in DPS mode, contributing Melee/Dots/Nukes/Pet. Equip a 2h blunt with a dps Proc. Same goes with the cleric.
- Equip all pets with mage weapons.

Top:
- Mage and ENC engage at range.
- Send in pet each time boss goes active. Re-summon pet and cast burnout while boss is inactive.
- Weave Firebound Orb and Frostbound Paradox in between nukes. Resummon these items while boss is inactive.
- Nuke with Spears. Don’t forget to Twincast.
- If possible, drop some ENC DoTs while your below team is finishing off the adds.

My turn to ask for help! I need advice on how to get the achievement in the Speaker’s Amphitheater where you kill both sets of mini bosses within 60 seconds of each other. Any tricks to this one or general guidance?

My team is SK / SHM / RNG / BRD / WIZ / MAG. SK is fully ROS raid geared and other characters have raid gear for their weapons and all relevant foci (including ROS raid mage earring).

Would also love some advice on how to best avoid the fireballs in the Ashes trial for that achievement. I can beat the trial pretty easily but every time I think I’ve avoided all the fireballs it turns out one of my characters got hit and I have to wait 2.5 days to try again. Thoughts?

Thanks!

For Speaker’s Amphitheater I had my Sk port to 1 mob and Monk to the other and just balanced them down. Cleric healing my Monk down below and Shaman healing my Sk. Might wanna use some merc healers.

For Ashes trial I position in the east north east side and run between 2 spots and have my group on top of me and just use the “come to me” button
Code:
/bcg //nav id ${Me.ID}

Thanks! I ended up getting this one last night. I’ll explain my strategy for the benefit of others:

Start by killing the trash mobs. You will receive 6 port clickies, 3 for each of the 2 mobs.
Boss #1: SK + Mage + Shaman
Boss #2: SK + Ranger + Wizard

I made hotkeys to do /bca //Casting “Sigil of XXX” for both of the sigils.

1) Click first port hotkey, SK + mage + shaman get ported to Boss #1. Other 3 characters use rocketeer boots to get up to the same platform. DPS boss to 25%.
2) Pause on all chars except shaman. Hit /bca Sigil for the opposite Mini boss. SK engages along with the Ranger + Wizard. Bard uses rocketeer boots to get up to platform and contribute.
3) Boss #1 is tanked by the mage pet and healed by the shaman. This is on autopilot. Mage contributes dps as required to help ensure both bosses die at roughly the same time.
4) Boss #2 is tanked by the Shadowknight and DPSed by the other three characters. My Shadowknight was able to keep itself up without outside heals. SK epic enabled Ranger + Bard to handle any AE damage. Use Harmtouch / Manaburn / DPS discs to help ensure both bosses die at roughly the same time.

Repeat this process for Boss #3 and Boss #4.

Thanks. I’ve been trying this but used the SW corner. I’ll try for the Northeast. For some reason my characters periodically don’t respond well to that command 100% of the time. Essentially, they periodically don’t run all the way to the end of the nav path OR they get stuck on some of the geometry. I’ve tried shrinking and other things. Perhaps i should pause them in between runs.

Do you have an issue with guys getting knocked off the platform in the Northeast? I suspect that’s the reason why I’m failing the achievement. I imagine it is giving me a fail if I fall off even if I don’t get hit by a fireball.

If your toons starts casting a spell while moving he will stop to cast and not finish navigating, I always just click to hotbutton to nav to me 2x. Also the last boss has a rear AE knock back it seems.

For Cyclone trial - does anyone have any tips for setting up or how to split the assisting of the group to do adds and then the named? The furthest i have got was manually dotting the named with a shaman lol. I must have my set up wrong. I can place three wizards on named but i cant stop them attacking when its invulnerable so they go oom fast. I have a SK, SHM ,CLR, BRD, BST, WAR, WIZ, WIZ, WIZ, MGE and have all tried various combinations to no avail after about 30 tries. They are all EoK raid or TBL tier 3 geared. I just use /mac kissassist on the main tank and have the main tank killing adds. Sometimes i cant move the tank when he engages until the add is dead. I apologize if I exemplify ignorance using the mac but i am a little desperate. Thank you.

Put SK + Shm + Mage below and Wiz / Wiz / Wiz up top. Mount the wizzies. When the add spawns, issue a /MQP command to the three wizzies so that they stop casting. When the add dies, unpause and let them have at it. This should save you mana. Meanwhile, be sure to use Dissident Roar on the shaman and melee with both the shaman and the mage. Consider manaburning on 1 wiz from the start to give the mob the debuff. Also, Stormjolt on the wiz is huge to increase the damage of subsequent nukes.

Thanks. Managed to get all the achievements done. I ended up resetting Ashes 5-6 times to be 100% sure I didn’t get hit by any fire balls.

Thanks for this. I did something similar by splitting my group 2 ways and preparing for only 3 chars to click up to the correct platforms. And I didn't mess with the boots which I almost always overshoot anyway...

I did:

My SK on one mini with all support below.
My Mage pet tanking on 2nd mini with slower on platform and healer below.

Then I balanced them down and killed the mini's in alpha order.

Repeated for the 2nd pair of minis.

Got 2 of the 3 achievements this way only missing the one where you avoid the roving aura!

Well I have no idea who these are so easy for everyone else. I give up. I am trying to move everyone around on lava island. Toons get stuck (yes they are shrunk), stuck in lava. They are all following my tank. Some pop and reappear on the other side of the zone. "Come to me" works, but then they get stuck at the gate and CAN NOT OPEN IT. Clicking like crazy on the gate because all the other trials are locked so the gate does not open. Total mess and $#1Tshow. and CoH does not work because that would solve anything.

I guess I suck at this. Sure I can pull and tank and spank trash in GD, but that doesn't let me complete any missions. Even Griklor, sure Sic makes it look easy on youtube, but my toons are running all over the place just a bunch of rejects. "come to me" "come to me" come to me" getting stuck everywhere.

I only started boxing because I could not find a group. DP doesnt want people to box so they make these POS missions and zones that screw with boxing. Boxes add more money to thier pockets than single toon players.

This game was frustrating enough as a single player, now trying with six its worse. I would love to try to beat all these trails of smoke to open up some of this xpac, but I just keep dying too much. Having to summon corpses, res, resummon, rebuff and head back out takes way too much time.

So now IDK what to do. What is fun? What can you do with redguides in the game that is fun? Certianly not trails of smoke. A flying carpet at the end would be great. But not going to happen.

So what zone is wide open, no terrain, outside, no hills and perfectly flat.... other than beasts domain?

problems are more than that due to getting stuck in lava and toons winding up across the zone, not being able to come back because all the gates are locked.
