On the plus side, I fixed the refresh so it won't crash. You can hit refresh on the driver toon and the imgui comes back updated. I'll PM Lisie the info.

Your characters have to be on different steps of a quest for the rest of the group to show up as red text. I can assure you it does work though.

That's the thing, they are.

One is on kill 8/10 and the rest are 7/10. Maybe because this is a merc quest with only one line to complete and not several steps. It may not be tracking kills vs steps in a multi-step quest, not sure. More investigation is needed.

My memory is that it does not update for kills, only steps.

Yes, that's what I was trying to say. May have just been an oversight for it to not update on kills because that should rarely be an issue when you have a group together questing I'd assume. At least it's not something that I have had an issue with ever.
 
Had this for a bit but just today really put it to use, noticed that I have to refresh frequently to get it to update, guessing it doesn't update on its own?
Because of this frequently the hud window just disappears, it's still running in Lua task manager but /th show won't bring the window back up.
If I alt tab to a different screen and back the window reappears.
Anyone have any knowledge or experience with this issue?

You can try this one i modified. While it still does not auto refresh, you can refresh manually. The window stays and there is no error.

Has anyone gotten this to work recently? Feels like more and more like vaporware every day :( I'm kind of over authors who hit it hard then poof.

Another full rewrite. No longer requires dannet to run, however having dannet loaded will allow you to click on the names of characters with different task progress and bring that character to the foreground.

This should greatly help the issues with characters hanging up and not sending their task data. I have noticed that occasionally updates triggered by the update task event messages sometimes do fail to trigger updates from some...

So happy that this is finally being upgraded. I've had this installed pretty much since it came out and it's been a ton of help when I'm questing with 6. However, it has always been really buggy and kind of a pain in the ass to use effectively. So, it makes me ecstatic to see all these extensive updates! I absolutely crash out in rage whenever I get through a quest and I think everyone has been getting the updates and one of my boxes ends up not having a "Hail" step done or whatever, so this is a must have Lua for me.

Your work is much appreciated, Lisie. Thank you for contributions to the community.
 
Not getting anything at all, I used it in the past and it was fine. Yes, all on dannet (samePC). Yes, all in a group. Yes, I tried on all EQ clients running and still nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

I get this occasionally. Usually I just let it be but when I actually want it working again, it usually amounts to "turn it off and on again". The Lua and likely the entire EQ client as well.
 
I had to tweak mine to work, but it was (I think) more of an Emu/Live thing. I asked Lisie back then if she was still maintaining this, and she told me that she wasn't. You can try this version...it might work, it might not. The communication issue in the Lua was a known issue...

*edited for the right version. I went on to tweak it further and publish it to a second monitor. The first version I uploaded moments ago had a secondary require function that's not necessary in the base script*
