Providing an update, I was using RGMercs for EMU, in this example Paladin (Have not yet tested War or SK), Previous to the current update, Paladin would auto tank xtarget list and heal as necessary. Worked fantastic. As of the above listed update Paladin will not tank, he sits back and heals the group. I 'drive' him and run to mobs to let him auto tank them so group engages. He no longer engages though. I tried manually hitting attack and he started swinging, but as soon as group member needed a heal, he pulled off and healed (good) but then did NOT automatically re-engage the mob, continued as a healer only.

---------------------------------
Separate issue, not from the above listed update: Suggestion, and please correct me on usage if I am wrong, I am on EMU but Live choice for Config works fine for me it seems, however no matter what choice I use same results, Paladin will not Rez before healing. Whether in combat or not (in combat might not be great as its not the AA rez I am discussing in EMU), but even sitting in Guild Lobby around corpses or out of combat near mobs, Paladin heals himself and members before rezzing any bodies. Tested this many times. Group healer and CC will be dead and instead of rezzing first.. he heals a minor heal to surviving members. Also he constantly stands as he attempts to cast a rez or heal that he does not have enough mana to cast. So he takes forever to get there. If possible a mana amount or percent check before standing to cast with override if in combat.
Upon walking up to a mob, active driving or auto using pulling, a suggestion is to have Paladin take a swing to the mob to make the group engage, before healing himself. I experience Pal tends to heal himself or group member before engaging. While casting, he often takes a second hit and group sits around not engaging as no damage has happened.
If any of the above is something I need to change in the custom files, please educate me. Thank you for this wonderful tool.

UPDATE: Tanking has re-engaged as normal... something happened that took a while and it just started up. I had fought about 15-20 mobs as I had listed above... and just now it started engaging. SHRUG. Egg on my face?

If you have people under your healpoints (which are set on the heal/rez tab), they are going to heal them before they rez others. You may wish to try adjusting these points to the heal it is trying to use.

I'm not a huge fan of the default paladin, and the alpha is my version of it adapted to late-game live (which unfortunately is likely completely unworkable at low-levels). I understand that may be frustrating to the user at low-level. Definitely a work in progress.

It seems like for that config, if you notice the paladin spamming a "LightHeal" too soon, you would adjust the "Light Heal Point" to your taste. Other heals would use the "Main Heal Point".

Also he constantly stands as he attempts to cast a rez or heal that he does not have enough mana to cast
This exact thing should have been 100% addressed in the major update earlier this week. Please let me know if this continues to occur.

Again, this comes down to the healpoints you set. I think lowering them a good bit should see him prioritizing tanking and engaging.

I will say that your concerns with the healing seem absolutely valid; a lightheal point by default is set pretty high. I generally only use it as a threshold for other abilities that dps/heal at the same time (like healnukes and such on some classes) and I generally don't use it for healing, but that isn't how the original is written. I don't want to change the defaults of the healpoints themselves, as they are well-tuned for main healers, but tuning them between all of your capable healers is definitely a good thing to optimize for your particular setup.

You can always use the rotations lists in the class tab to figure out which heal will use which point/etc, all in-game, without pulling up the config (example from my cleric on Laz):

I'll try to see if I can do a quick fix in the next few days on the file.

Im glad to hear that. If it repeats, please try to capture some logs (if you find the console and capture a log to file that is set to capture verbose mode, I should see nearly everythign going on) or hit someone up in discord

Actually @Redfrog I had a second look and I'm rage-fixing right now (on the healing... hope the explanation of healpoints helps in the future though!)

yes it did, I don;t really mess with the settings barely, as I can adjust to what I see happening. So you taught me something. :hfive:
The rez thing still applies and the standing thing still applies. I died and others did since last posting, so I could see that issue still happening.
The engagement issue magically fixed. I don;t care how it happened, but I'm rather happy. I never touched any settings.
I will add something. Mages cast ModRods, (with option on) but their delay to issue autoinventory or use is long, it very often gets in the way of looting your corpse. Not sure how to suggest something for it. I was thinking maybe to turn it off, is there a way to make a ButtonMaster to issue a command to mage from the driver to cast it out?

Concerning rez: are you using the default RGMercs updated through the launcher?

I'm in the middle of making some other rez adjustments for emu, so I will double-check myself there.

About modrods

The delay is adjustable for the auto inventory command (check your class options). The issue is sometimes if you are doing something else like casting, you may not be able to autoinventory. I can't change the game, unfortunately, and I don't feel the code for it needs adjustment at this time. The alternative is turning the summon off, which is again under your control. (Edit: We've recently had a discussion about mod rods going in to your primary slot, but that's going to take a little time to address).

You may wish to spend some time in the class tab to familiarize yourself with some class settings!

I would say that things work pretty okay out of the box, but as much as we would like, defaults can only be set for *most* situations and are a starting point.

I hate to bring this back to life but I've definitely been having issues with my low level paladin using his heals at all. I have everything set correctly, I believe but he'll never stop attacking to heal or use Lay on Hands. Sounds like there has been an issue with this in the past. I saw the comment about how it's not really tuned well for lower levels. If I were to use CTWN plugins would that solve my issue? Or wait til 60 and make a .ini with kissassist? I'm on the new tlp.

RGMercs has drastically changed in this time, and you aren't even using the same class config anymore. It has been revamped long since. Locking this.

If you need assistance with settings or issues, feel free to ask questions in the mercs forum or post in our support area. Edit: We would be happy to help, but just about everything in this thread is irrelevant at this stage.
