Question - Switching some toons to FTP

So my team is currently all gold (cleric, mage, pally, ber, bst, brd) but next week I want to cut some back. I was thinking of keeping 2 or 3 gold. Any suggestions? I mostly just grind for chase and AA.

Cleric - Keeping Gold - Main raid toon
Mage - Thinking of keeping gold - mostly ToV raid gear
Pally - Thinking of keeping gold - some prestige items including chase weapon/shield
Berserker - switch to ftp
Bard - switch to ftp
Beastlord - switch to ftp

Tank & Melee DPS should be the only classes that are ever paid for. All others, pop a krono...max aa, keep them in non-prestige gear.

Thank for the input. Ill keep cleric and pally gold, switch gear on mage over to non-prestige, bard/zerk and bst are already non-prestige and see how to group plays, adjust from there.

I have several melee that are FTP and with TOL non prestige weapons and gear they do pretty dang well.
i always keep tank and CC paid and normally my pet class(for the better earring) rest i bounce between paid and ftp

If you decide to go w/ non-prestige melee trick it to always use the non-prestige from the next expansion over...Example: TBL > ToV for 110 Snowbound, non-prestige weapons, non-prestige visibles...or TOL > CoV for 115 non-prestige...same idea...

As for mages...i'd go for quantity...over quality...EX: two non-prestige mages doing alliances off of one another is much more valuable that higher end pet ear...you'd also get 2 pets vs. just the one...same principles for all other classes really...double or triple up...exception rogues...rogues can actually alliance off of...poison and their own pets I wanna say...Pro's here logic check me if that doesn't jive with your experiences.

Bottom line...i'd sell those "high-end" chase or pet ears you're hanging on to and truly max out your subbed tank/zerk/rogue....hurts a little to say it as I'm a mage main...but you want a beefy indestructible tank and high output burst dps source...mages shouldn't be getting hit...
