Question - Struggling with Charm and Mez

I am running an all Enchanter+Cleric group: 2 enchanters charm mobs, the other enchanters AoE mez any adds (I pull many), and the healer heals. The dual charmed pets really do some serious DPS!

The problem I am having is that when I get adds, the secondary enchanters mez them (as they should), which make them untargetable by the charmed pets, so I have to get closer, manually stab the mob to break the mez, and then let the pet do the rest. Very cumbersome.

Can you think of any strategy where I could automate...
  1. Easily break mez so I can send pet in.
  2. If a pet is attacking on a mob, disallow the other enchanters to mez that target.
Thanks!

context is a bit important

is this live eq, tlp, or emu?

cleric could be your MA, and it could melee/nuke to break mez and then enchanters assist cleric for that

Sorry my bad. It is emu.

I was thinking perhaps on a low level DoT so mez breaks and the pet can jump in?

well this isnt an answer but i like where your group is at -- gonna have to make a couple more enchanters and test this out myself

DoT the intended target. Breaks mez and keeps them from being remezzed
Low effort DoT should be sufficient to minimize mana consumption. Alternately just give it a love tap nuke as dots do generate a bit of aggro that may not be desired. If we don't care about the aggro, just go full send on the mob.

Point being there are many ways to handle breaking mez without using a pet or melee.

Was going to ask who do you drive the group with?

If it is one of the enchanter, then use a small nuke for him and that will bring the mob to you and set yourself as MA.

Yes, I manually play the main enchanter, and all the other supporting characters are code driven, either on Crowd Control duties (mez, slow, root) or Healing duties.

The problem with the low level nuke is that the very moment I break the mez, one of my other supporting enchanters auto-mezzes again immediately LOL. I guess I coded the gameplay too tight. For that reason, I have taken two corrective actions:
  • I break mezzes with a low level DoT instead of a nuke.
  • I have loosened the code to leave 2 mobs unmezzed in camp: one to be charmed (by me) and one to be slowed (by one of the supporting enchanters). All the other mobs will be mezzed by the supporting enchanters.
It works well with only one pet charmed (by main enchanter), but I am trying to achieve peak DPS via dual charming (main enchanter + one of the supporting enchanters). That means that the remaining supporting enchanters gotta leave at least THREE mobs unmezzed in camp (third one will be slowed though), which can get hairy when you're dealing with yellow mobs.
