Challenge -Molo Level an All-Access character with very little outside assistance 1-85

So I messed up and burned a Krono on April 21st when I thought I had until April 24th for level 100s...

Now that redwine is not advisable/nerfed there does not seem any decent leveling tricks left.

What are some ideas / paths to self level up level 3 druid to 85 in less than a month? Ideally two weeks - so I would have 2 weeks to level the 85 with my 115s.

I have plenty of platinum and could group with level 115 mage when I reach 85.

The Journeyman Warrior Merc is indeed a monster - 157 regen at level 3!!

Have Merchant's Feast and Crystilla's Special Ale for hp/mana buffer.

I figure up to level 50-60 should be cake - I just need a few good zones:
  • tutorial.mac - working but default mesh is sometimes broken - could possibly try for 1-12 Icefall Glacier ground spawn
  • Kurns / Blightfire - should be decent up to 15-30 - suppose some sort of hunter.mac or hunter.Lua would be helpful
  • 30-60 - unsure but maybe hatchery.mac is doable molo with Journeyman merc
Self leveling 61-85
Now I figure 61-85 will be tough and long - ordinarily I'd have grouped a level 56 with a level 85 heroic twink but that is not an option this time.

Would grouping level 60 with level 115 get the level 60 any buffs from level 115 merc cleric?

What else could be done to speed up 60 to 85?

I suppose I should be able to cast mage level 90 damage shield at 60 and sit around lag pile for some outside buffs.

Might be easier to create a couple other throw away ftp (bard and mage for example) and use them plus two mercs with outside DS. You might find that they can chain pull and let the mercs pl you.

Good idea to have a full group with two mercs! I actually have a couple of all access accounts active at the moment.

Ordinarily this would be the way I would PL anyway if I had a class that can build up reasonable aggro
However on this server I only have a 115 mage.

So Journeyman Tank + Cleric would take care of everything up to 60.

That leaves open the question on where to go at 60.

Going off my bad memory here, but I think this is the path I used to take:
FoB to 10
Kurns to 20
CoM to late 30s
Velk's to 50
some mix of PoV/CoDecay/BoT to 65
Farm in DSH to (or in?) 70s
then I can't remember anything between so I must've gone to Grounds after that

From Field of Bone I would go to Echo Caverns A and let my damage shield do most of the work. Then to Echo B then from Echo B to Velks. Again letting the damage shield work for you. You can work the Bottom floor at Velks to 60 from there your going to need a group You can do POF which friends turned me on to to 67ish then take a look at the muramite proving grounds work your way to 80 and Wall Of Slaughter. From there you'll get 85 with your group.

Nerfed as well 😢

Ack, I guess there are no quickies left for low levels. Gone are days of hitting level 54 from one mission ;)

That said it took me like 3 hours to hit 30 in Blightfire with minimal twinking and regen/dmg shield. Skellies (for Golden Pick) were heavily camped so I avoided that area.

You should stay in TSS zones until about 60. Old-school zones had shit exp (which may have changed a few years ago), but you can stay in CR until about 20, moors until 40, and so on. Even if you're PLing a whole group. It's very fast and efficient. If you can get a DS + temperance, you'll be unstoppable in CR and moors for a while. I usually move to Stone Hive then Goru-kar mesa until 50 or so. After that, if you're DS PLing, can go to Bloodfields, WoS, then, once 70, grounds (you can hit everything there).

Other option for DS PL is to pick up the golden axe in quest in moors, and keep the axe with hitall.mac to tag each mob with 1 damage to continue DS PL. If you don't have a high level ranger, druid, or mage, you can grind too, but it'll take a lot longer. You can go in that order, and it will get you to about 81-85 (unless you're really patient). I usually hit valley after that to 95, then regular 125 PL crew takes over.

Edit: A wizard or bard in the PL group is great for the AE DD, so you can tag all mobs easily within a reasonable level of your own. Otherwise, get the pick... :)

He's not PLing, but that TSS vs old school info is a good point. I always leaned toward old zones for the lower hp mobs, but I'm gonna have to change my way of thinking now.

Just get a caster DPS merc. I leveled from 1 to 60 in a weekend, playing a few hours a day with no power leveling. It slows down around level 70, but it's still manageable up to level 80 or so.

One of the best ways to get xp at 60-75 is the Hot Zone quests from Teek. Its bonus exp and you can sell the armor reward if you don't need it. You can stay in the zone even after doing the kill 5 and get better exp than most zones.

When you get them, get as many around your level as you can since you can only ask once a day. So if you just chose one and come back you will be locked out. Or like above just stay in the zone and kill.

Then try some LDON's. Just need you, a merc and at least one other player. The level spread is set to 15 up until level 80 (normal) and then is 20 from level 85 (normal) on.

I highly recommend the Hot Zones. I would also have a full box group if possible because you can just gab a few INI files from the library and you're good to go. Why use a merc these days when you can 6 box?

To add onto jimbob's post, the biggest benefit of TSS is minimal travel while leveling. Running around trying to get to the next exp spot every few levels in the old world burns a lot of time.

6 box plus mercs?

I am currently 3 box plus mercs. My Shammy and a healer merc, then two tank mercs makes you pretty invincible.

Mercs at lower levels can pl you and you don't have to give them equipment or spells or do much of anything really. Just chain pull away (maybe with a little defiant for puller)

Two groups of three + mercs can be useful!

Not a direct help to wherre to level, but when I level toons, I use the following stat food on my tank and healer. Makes them pretty durable for a very long time. You mentioned having plenty of plat, so a stack of each might be worth your while. Then figure out the "eat other food and save your stat food" Lua/macro/plugin whater it is thing to save your stat food.
Primordial Noodles with Indigenous Primordial Meat: This is a Miraculous Meal AC: 155 HP: +1200 MANA: +1200 Endurance: +600
Primordial Plasma Smoothie: This is a Miraculous Drink: AC: 55 HP: +960 MANA: +960 Endurance: +960

My leveling path, that I like to level 3 alts with 3 mercs is: (merc: tank tank heal)
1-5 spiders in Field of Bone underground cave.
6-13 Kurns tower
13-23 Paludal Caverns (with lesson each bandit can give almost 20% xp/kill)
23-43 Lower Guk
43-57 Veksar

(if you have 85 toon) 57-80 Feerot Dream

(if not)
Veksar to 60

60-70 Plane of Fire

70+... I forgot.

What I do to help my lvl 1 chars is clear old Tov with my heroic 85 and get alot of twink gear
Then at 65 I like to also clear plane of time to get gear.

I have a tank stationed at 112 in FM, that I level up my chars 82 to 110, then... overseer

What i just did for 65+ with no PL, but a full group no mercs with pretty basic bazaar gear besides my warrior which had plane of time weapons and some armor.
55-65 CoD.
66--70 Arcstone, which was actually really quick and great, not really much loot to be had but up until 70 it was smooth sailing.
70-73 Did icefall mammoths and animals
73-75 I did in valdeholm.

About to start SoD progression in oceangreen.

@playj
  1. 0 - 30 - Crescent Reach
  2. 30 - 50 Greatdivide - tikmaks to 40, bears to 50
  3. 50 - 60 Velketors
  4. 60 - 65 - Bastion of Thunders
  5. 65 - 85 Dragonscale Hills
  6. 85+ get Buffs and have someone pwlvl ya...you'll need at least a subbed tank past this point
  7. 85 - 95 - House of Thule/The grounds
  8. 95 - 105 - Shard's Landing
  9. 105 - 110 - Frontier Mountains (ROS)
  10. 110 - 115 - whatever you like i'm partial to Howling Stones or ROS/TOV Dungeons...good exp and usually no one around.

Enjoy!

Your leveling should now be something like...(see below)

CR to 15 > BFMoores to 40 > Gorukar to 55-60. Take like 2 hours with 1 driver, 2 autofollows (don't even need to bot them), 1 tank merc, 1 healer merc, 1 dps merc (rogue).

Murder Reds only after lvl 5. Kill everything. The TSS zones have like a 30 second (exaggerating) respawn timer on mobs, and there are a billion mobs, and plenty that aren't quest related to just burn the corn fields with.

my route lately is

CR > Blightfire to 35/40 > Deep until 50 > howling stones to 60 > BoT to mid 60s > Dragonscale hills or PoFire to mid 70s > Things get a bit tougher at 75 but you may find success with swapping mercs and doing some charming in icefall glacier until 80

I recall in the moors there are the sporali decomposers around the north side of the zone. The respawn rate is so fast you can't really every get the area cleared they pop so fast.

Dranik Scar is nice and easy to get too and for some reason gives crazy good xp and the mercs can typically handle it in their low 40's. Highly recommend giving it a shot.
