Hi - I couldn't work this out from the in game FAQ or searching, but is there an equivalent command for stopping DPS or backing off?
For certain events ideally I'd want a toon to stop dps'ing (melee or cast) but continue to mez, debuff/slow, heal etc, rather than fully pause. Is this possible with RGMercs?

This might depend on how you're configured, and I am by no means a RGmerc expert, but for most things on here you can do this by having your toon marked assist target itself.

from memory I think it was
/rgl backoff

Turn off auto engage setting or use /rgl backoff as Robban said, depending on your exact needs/situation

This will just have that PC selecting their own targets :)

Is that the only two options for stopping dps? Mainly asking for when you are controlling other people's toons like on a raid with several groups on me as the raid MA that I don't have loaded myself and can't issue those commands to them.

I could do that I suppose. I was hoping for a more simple solution like clearing the MA's target or them targeting themselves. Possibly just an option to enable something like that that doesn't have to be on by default.

Sorry dude I don't intend to add much functionality for you to control other people's accounts, and some of the other factors definitely go far beyond the previous conversation here. There's a high level of granularity we haven't even touched on here for advanced situations, if you want to take a look at the commands or settings.

On a side note, from what I can tell, you guys definitely already have the knowledge to use commands and settings from an event-driven script if that is what you want to do.

If they are relying on an MA that doesn't have a valid autotarget, they won't have a valid autotarget...
Clearing the MAs target is generally enough for that when the MA is not autotargeting/engaging or not using mercs. It's hard to be specific without specific details.

For clarity, I just started trying RGMercs out in the last couple days. I have very, very little experience with it. There might be some already existing ways of accomplishing what I am trying to do and I wasn't very clear to begin with. I apologize if it's a simple solution that I just haven't found the right option yet.

Specific Example: Invaders raid. Few of us load groups up for it and have 1 MA for the payload and 1 MA for balancing the 3 bosses. We'll have everyone's non ranged groups on the balancing MA. Once adds spawn we want to stop all dps on bosses until adds are in and down. Is there a way for that MA to clear their targets and stop dps without having everyone else click a hotkey to back off their dps?

We are coming from using the CWTN plugins where that MA just targets themselves and everyone's toons clear their target and back off without having to use any commands/hotkeys. Just curious if there is some option in Mercs to do the same that I am missing? It's very likely that I am. If Mercs already does this too then I just haven't set things correctly and need to read up and mess with it more and learn to get good lol.

This stuff can all change based on whether you are using the assist list or the Raid MA role, but that MA should be able to back off, or if he is paused or not using auto engage, target himself or nothing. Generally, the goal is, if the MA doesn't have a valid autotarget, the people assisting that MA don't.

Recommended you mess around with it some in a mock scenario.

It can get more complex if you are mixing automation or people, but I guess that's true of* anything.

Alright cool. Sounds like it already can do what I want. I just haven't played around with it enough yet to figure it out. It's a LOT to take in the first time. Amazing set of options and control. Really am impressed with the fine tuning you can do. Appreciate the replies. I'll play around with it more today.

Definitely, and also feel free to hit us up in Discord if it's easier
I also want to add that I have not personally done large raid setups, so if there's something that needs tuning or adjustment to facilitate that we're definitely open to feedback.

The flip side of granularity, unfortunately, is always going to be complexity, but we do what we can to balance it.
