I am really curious exactly how many people are involved in the extortion of the Ragefire krono market. It makes me wonder why people insist of further destroying the server economy.

Are you really looking for a number, or is your question more rhetorical?

Mostly i'm just bitching about it. I mean it'd be nice to know, but just annoyed as hell.

They're being sold on bazaar for 38k -_- they've set up buyers at 28-31k I believe in order to give the appearance that the krono are legitly that high. And its working. Krono are legitimately 30-40k now. -_-

Jeez, I guess I havent been in the bazzar in a while, they were only 21-24k....

Thing is leave it that way long enough they wont sell and people will drop their prices. I hear Phinny is the same way though. If it hangs on then there is enough plat around to hold it there and thats just the going rate then.

This is more so due to the fact that plat is becoming less and less useful.

Much much more gear is becoming no trade, it'll get way way worse.

^^^ This. Luclin moves most things into the No Trade column and level requirements. Plat demand drops considerably. 38k is still extremely low. I could setup a couple groups in Seb farming gems. Probably avg. 5k or so an hour, and turn a Krono in roughly 7 hours on vendor drops. Now lets say you get Fungi Tunic or something that also sells for a good bit of money that rate goes way up. You sir, are living the high life and you don't know it.

On Live servers, It is beyond rediculous. You are lucky to find a Krono for 3 million plat these days. Good luck farming enough vendor loot to buy that... its all about the chase items on Live servers these days. They trade not in PP but in Krono. Plat is basically worthless...

Krono has gone from 22k....to almost 40k in less than a week. Its controlled inflation.

the krono economy gets hysterical sometimes. A perceived lack in the supply will cause it to spike. Currently my server is a hair over 2mill, i can still buy them through barter for less but i suspect itll come down eventually when people chill the fuck out, prior to that the median was 1.6-1.7.

What everyone told you above but wanted to add that Krono price is effected on all servers including TLP, since this is account tied.

I'm farming Krono on 3 servers currently by spamming general chat every 7-8 hours. I'm sure, I'm not the only one who is doing so. So if they are hard to come by you are seeing the effects on TLP as well. Which is why the price doubled in a week. for you. Besides 22k plat isn't hard to farm if you are already at Luclin unlock (i.e. bazaar opens up and you can farm plat in bazaar now) on TLP servers.

My guess is the biggest impact for you has been that bazaar zone went live on TLP servers, which makes it super easy to farm plat.

Krono are being auctioned in general chat on my server for purchase at 2.1mil and for sale at around 2.5mil. I have no idea how successful people are at getting folks to bite at that. On my server, like said earlier, its all about chase items and useful things like bags. I can get a 40-slot bag or two a day sometimes just by farming one named camp in EoK. Those sell immediately for 1mil and fairly quickly at 2mil.

There are people on ragefire that already have 1-5 mil plat racked up. It was only a matter of time that the krono went from 20k and shoot up towards 50k. They have the money, and will keep paying it, in order to keep their box toons active.

People are waking up, and realizing their 17.99 is worth more than a measly 20k. (Yes, people had to buy those at 17.99 sometime)

It truly is the cycle of the economy, and I'm surprised that they arent at 100k yet on Ragefire. Count your blessings that its still under 50k.

The thing is krono aren't worth 17.99 at all. Yes, people do pay the 17.99 initially but at this point a krono is equivalent to a new car. You drive it off the lot and it's value plummets, and the manufacturer has made its premium so they really couldn't care less what happens to it after that. With every krono purchased the value diminishes a little more. When a krono is used to purchase sub time the value only increases by a fraction of what it lost when purchased.

The system itself is one that is naturally self destructive, but over a length of time so until that happens DBG profits (as well as anyone else who takes advantage of it). And what's very annoying is that it's a universal currency that can be used to influence the economy on any server from any other server

If I had a box team on Ragefire... you can bet that price would be higher than where it currently is. You also aren't seeing an influx of new players, and lets be frank, its new players that don't know how to farm that are buying kronos. If I had a shortage of kronos, I'd probably be starting several new toons on Ragefire, just to farm plat to buy kronos. Thats just because live servers don't even have them in Bazaar anymore with 2 mil being the cap.

Right now there are hardly any to buy because they're being either bought out or people are holding out because of the sudden marketing abnormality

Shit, maybe I should do that... hrm.

To be fair, the higher the price of kronos, the better it is for the server. If a new player wants to get a jump start, he can sell a krono and get geared out relatively easy. It might not be helpful to those of us who pay for our boxes via krono, but 'the economy' of the server isn't about how profitable afk farming is.

Keep in mind, as the price of kronos go up, your krono's value went up too.

I was buying tons of krono for 20-25k for the last 3 months, I'm surprised it took this long for the price to jump :P

Yeah not seeing how this is an issue. The Price of krono's hasn't really jumped since the beginning of Velious, almost a damn year.

With the Bazzar, everything you can buy is dirt cheap plat wise anyways. I'm sitting on just over a million plat with nothing to buy. Why would I even bother selling a krono for 24k at this point? 24k is pennies right now.

40k isn't enough to get me to sell any of my krono either.

I know this is an older post, but Krono are over 80K on RF now. They basically jumped from 40k to 70k overnight, now pushing up over 80k

With Agnarr opening in 10 days, people that are moving over to play there are cashing out (converting their in game assets into Krono so they can use them on agnarr) and driving up the demand for Krono.

Yep, same thing happened on quarm. Price quadrupled in 10 days once people started finishing their trials and bailing out. Enjoy the desolation of all other TLPs not named Agnarr
