• Hail, we're RedGuides. We want you to play six (yes, 6!) EverQuest characters at once. We have scripts and a friendly community to help, please join our playstyle and say hello! 👋
  • We've added LLM sections to our Terms & Rules and Resource Rules, for everyone's sanity & in-game safety.
    a. Do not replace your voice with an LLM. This goes for your posts and your scripts. Drafting and editing with a tool is fine, but don't take you out of what you share.
    b. Do not replace your EQ character's voice with an LLM. We don't want scripts that speak over /ooc, /shout or other public channels. This has been an unwritten rule that's kept casino scripts off the site for decades, but we're now compelled to make it clear: keep automated communication private.

    Why Does RG Review Scripts?
Nearly every LLM-written Lua script we see is making your character do impossible things, and rarely in a way that's beneficial to you. We've seen heavy server hammering, /target over impossible distances when /nav spawn would passively accomplish the same thing, a spawn search that fires 20+ times per second, and other pointless actions that are likely annoying GMs.

You are welcome to use LLMs as a tool to structure, draft, and edit your work, but please read critically before hitting /lua run

howdy big

it would behoove you to utilize the faq/commands etc that are available for a resource.

do you also want this to be downloadable from rg? because you just set it up as a link and not so redfetch can download for folks

Anyone try this out yet? Curious, but I see that it will most likely not play nicely with CWTN/SIC plugins.

Just wondering what the performance and logic look like.

your folder structure is unusual - and you appear to be shipping stuff you dont want?

Anything in particular with the folder structure?
Also for the dead code yeah I noticed I have a bit of clean up I haven't went back to take it out yet it doesn't hurt anything since it's not being referenced but I 100% agree shouldn't be there.

your resource should *only* be a zipped srl folder then stuff inside
you're raw'dog putting readme and gitignore and git workflow into people's schhhhtuff

the command stuff is a pretty big concern too

everything should be /srl <command> <param> and not things like /playmelody and /stopmelody - otherwise without checking of it already existing with *something else* you can/will conflict - and it becomes difficult to use

Gitignore should be committed though to hide sensitive information like bot yaml files.

The Git workflow should be there because GitHub reads it directly from the repo to know what workflows to run

None of those commands exist in SRL /playmelody or /stopmelody.

you have rgmercs set to ignore and you're just rawdog sending your gitignore not inside your own file.
