Discussion - Spell upgrades from lower level raid to current level rank 1

When does everyone switch out their spells from lower level rank 3 to current level rank 1? Once you get the AA focus unlocked, immediately, or not until you get new rank 2 or 3s?

Honestly depends on the spell/era, I've noticed they've been a lot better about R1s in new eras replacing even R3s, but it wasn't always so. I'm usually prone to just upgrade and keep moving though, less to get lost in the sauce.
