Posted Entirely by Assweasel on Kenetixeq, all credit going to him for this, I just find it helpful .

First, you need to download all 3 Files: WeaselSpeed, WeaselStart, WeaselStop. Once that is done, save them over as .bat files (Can't upload that file type here) Once they are all .bat Files...

1. Run WeaselSpeed.bat first.
2. Run WeaselStop.bat this will kill many unnecessary processes.
3. When you want to restart those processes run Weaselstart

Overall it lessens some lag and makes gameplay a bit smoother, worth it for no work done on your part, and again, credit to Assweasel

He posted WeaselSpeed here too...but not WeaselStop or Start :)

He doesn't love us :(

Holy shit that was the fastest reply in the world....Well now you have it :)

this aint some bullshit back program to fook up my comp and allow some asshat to intrude and or virus my HD?.. looks kinda shaddie to me... post your expriences if you are using this plz.

Pollo....if this looks shady...look at the file. It's a TEXT DOCUMENT. It can't harm you untill you turn it into a .bat and run it, so just look at the file.

The Shadiest thing this does is if you have internet explorer , when you open it up at the very top title bar it adds "Internet Explorer- Get a real browser"

I've been using this for months now, nothing else is *wrong* with it.....And for the record I use firefox.

open file in like notepad, file->save as change the file type from ".txt" to "all files" and in the upper field where you put save name, put whatever.bat. click save, bam you're done

Checked the batch file

Weasel Stop simply stops unneccessary proccesses running in the background

Weasel Start turns them back on if you wish to.

Weaslespeed does what it says it does in the comments.

I program .bat files alot for repetitious stuff such as pinging a network range etc. I use .bat files to also check out entire systems for me collect the log files, check ipconfig, hash entire drives, etc etc.

{Edit: removed my website}

if you want to check out my batch files, besides MQ2 there is SystemAnalyzer (saves output into a .tar file.) and a multi-IP address remote admin IP / Hostname / Subnet mask check that I created for a class I am am currently where we are setting up an Army system on a small lan but the teachers make us change the comms settings daily.

I use the CommsChecker to make sure everyone updated correctly.

i can manage my own background programs, but good idea for those who dont/cant manage their running programs I suppose

PS does this really offer that much improved performance?

I don't like it that it adds that snippet to the IE browser saying "Get a real browser". That has nothing to do with performance...

There is a lot in there that I don't understand. Is there anything else in there that is not related to the task for which it is advertised to do?

Desert: If you're managing your own programs, then no it really doesnt. It's just an easy way to turn off programs that take up memory, like theme and shit like that. Stuff you like to have on, but you don't really need while playing eq. So if you need to eek out that extra bit of performance, then this will help...but nothing dramatic if you're managing your own programs.

if you go to Speedguide.net, you will find all the changes, and descriptions, in the broadband tweak drop down menu, plus more. these tweaks are all out there, you just need to look around a lil bit.

if u really hate the ie thing just open the first text file and del out the ie part or comment it out via :: like all the descriptions otherwise it doesnt hurt anything
