Solo most old world mobs

This is one of my strats i used to use when i played eq. I really dont play anymore this tip is especially useful for bards.

You need the plugins

Mq2Twist (of course)
Mq2Gravity (used to be on cades compile dont know if its still around or updated)

Basically you go to any old world (luclin and some POP zones work) outdoors. Basically its similar to the z-100000 cheat back in the day

You do /gravity -1

this will take you to the highest point in the zone (the boundary), if any pc's or npc's in the immideate clip plane will go way up into the sky with you, but their really still down on the ground server side. Just be sure you are in range of your songs. then basically twist away and rot them down to the ground. Ive used this to solo all the dragons for the bard epic and so on and so forth, works for rumble crush and all the other old world goodies. For those of you without the luxury of multiple boxes to take down mobs.

**note** if the mob dies and you are out of range, no one gets credit for the kill and you cannot loot the corpse, ive found that using /fade works to fix this onc the mob is dead**

A few warnings, 1. The mobs dont stay aggroed, so if they have high regen, it will take a while to get them down, as they loose aggro as soon as you do damage. also 2. if you are within melee distance they will still hit you, but they do not chase you because technically you are out of their distance aggro range. In any event, have fun with this,

This will NOT work in GOD DOD DON zones because the zone heights arent high enough for you to stay out of their aggro range.In the words of someone (i think it was letmein..... GM's dont ban people.... Pissed off players do... so be careful! )

The End.

Can rng add damage with bow and stay outta range? I guess the mobs you are talking about do not summon.

now all we need is an updated mq2gravity , anyone got an updated working version?

Works for mobs that summon as well. as they dont keep aggro on you, they dont have anyone to summon.

Have mq2setgrav, this will make you hit the ceiling if the setting is right, I think negative. Then you will need to /warp x, y, ceiling to move around or above a mob, since I don't think this allows movement once you are in the air.

Rich (BB code):
#include "../MQ2Plugin.h"

PreSetup("MQ2SetGrav");

VOID SetGrav(PSPAWNINFO pChar, PCHAR szLine) {

   CHAR szMsg[MAX_STRING] = {0};
   CHAR Arg1[MAX_STRING];

   GetArg(Arg1,szLine,1);

   bRunNextCommand = TRUE;

   if (Arg1[0]!=0)
      {
      ((PZONEINFO)pZoneInfo)->ZoneGravity = (FLOAT)(atof(Arg1));
      }
   else
      {
      sprintf(szMsg,"Current Gravity is: %3.2f",((PZONEINFO)pZoneInfo)->ZoneGravity);
      WriteChatColor(szMsg,USERCOLOR_DEFAULT);
      }

return;

}
PLUGIN_API VOID InitializePlugin(VOID)
{
DebugSpewAlways("Initializing MQ2SetGrav");
AddCommand("/SetGrav",SetGrav);
}

PLUGIN_API VOID ShutdownPlugin(VOID)
{
DebugSpewAlways("Shutting down MQ2SetGrav");
RemoveCommand("/SetGrav");
}

I had tried this and it didnt work. can anyone confirm this works for me?

this is gonna get another solo exploit nerfed. its similar to te old under the world casting. please oh please dont get this nerfed.

It's not that big a deal. There really aren't that many mobs you can kill with it.

You can move around if you have a lev buff. Mobs will come to you and attack you with lev buff on, but as soon as you click it off, they won't attack.

this doesnt work like ghosting right where you send like 10k warp messsages to the server right?

No need to warp.

now does this only work in zones that are clearly outdoor zones? or any outdoor zone? like BoT is an outdoor zone, but its got a roof. or MPG is an outdoor zone (casue you can sow, but not levi)

tried in umbral, /setgrav -1 make me hit the ceiling, I then moved above a mob but was still hit by him, maybe doesn't work on luclin ? or maybe I do something badly

You can not be in melle range or they will hit you. they just dont agro. So what you need to do is get outside melle range.

Doesn't archery and thrown items check Z status and if you're too high or low, it won't attack?

I tried this and after a few attempts I figured out some details.

You need the plugin mq2setgrav posted in page 1 or 2.

You need to find a mob with no roof over its head in an open zone (Old world up to Luclin). Once you find him, you can get in casting range without agroing it and type /setgrav -1. This will send everyone to the top of the zone but you will not get hit once you start twisting (although once in a while you do, but this is very rare). After mob is killed you fade and go loot.

When you fade you will fall from the sky and could die, so I made a hotkey to sing levitate after setting gravity to .1 to fall slower.

/setgrav .1
/twisk songname for levitate

The mainl problem for this cheat is that the mob you are killing cannot have something over its head or it will not come all the way up with you and you will no be able to chant it down. For example, Rumblecrush is under a ceiling and will not go up. If you try to pull him out and do it outside it will not work because you generate no agro and he will walk back under the roof.

After exploring many old world zones, Luclin and PoP, I started to realize that many (if not most) of the open zone mobs are covered by some kind of ceiling.

I did not try WW, which I think has some potential. I tried several HoH and HoHb but all the names have a ceiling on top. I tried PoN and had better luck there, although the SK name on the horse regens too fast. I tried some giants in PoStorms and it works on a couple that are not under a roof, but it takes a loooong time and they summon on occasion or hit you somehow. Tried Bot but mobs were not up where they dont have a ceiling so I cannot say if this is possible there.

Another problem is if mobs roam around, they will not stay in agro range and will walk away, but you cant walk once in the top of the zone.

Basically, this is a semi useful cheat, but the mobs I have been able to kill with this drop nothing of real value.

I didnt try some zones which might work like PoFear, WW or VT, and others, but hopefully some of you can think of mobs that are desireble to kill, are static spawns and do not have a ceiling over them in an open area.

No. I forgot to mention that you get no experience, but that was said by the original poster.

I use to do this in MPG... A long time ago... Not so much with the gravity, but you can kill mobs like this.

Tested in WW and Mischief and it didn't work (I got agro). AS far as warping at 1%, it hardly seems a good way to exp because killing those reds takes so long and you can do the same thing on non summoning mobs while running a macro. Will keep trying other zones until I find something worth while.

The best use for this is to kill the 4 bard epic 1.5 dragons, Their butter in the hands of a flying bard singin a jig. :)

I have done some more testing on this.

This works in all zones with a high enough ceiling, regardless of the expansion. Unfortunately the celing is not very high in many zones. As I pointed out before, the npc needs to have clear space above its head for this to work.

You do get summoned once in a while.

Once up in the air, if you see the npc drop to the ground, you will need to fade after it is dead or mobs that "saw" you killing it will agro.

If the npc drops to the ground and it is a caster, it will start casting on you and healing tiself if it can without ever going oom, but it will not hit you (unless you are in melee range)

A most important thing I found is to be near maximum casting range AND outside of the NPC line of sight on the ground, but not in the air. For example, if you are on a hill above an npc where they cannot see you on the ground, but you can see them once up in the air.

Doesn't work on roamers.

I have tried it on a few raid lvl mobs and you can actually take them down some if you are patient, but every time I tried they summoned me at some point (like 40 min into the killing for example).

I used Harmony of Sound in my twist for resisting ones.

Has anyone tried this on the Fabled dragons in WW? It could be a nice and easy way to drop them for decent necklaces.

I did. The max Z range is not high enough and they kill you.

How did they kill you? Melee or AE?

If melee, were you out of their melee range when you started and were you killing the static spawns?

If AE, were you out of AE range initially and they moved to you? If they moved to you, were you killing static spawns or roaming dragons?

Basically they gain agro as soon as you cast, move towards you and engage you with everything, melee and ae spells. I tried this on static spanws, mainly dragons. Perhaps is the dragon factor. I tried it in dragons in WL and EJ and both agro, but not all mobs agro in those zones when you use this.

I do not have Qivic access on my bard so I do not know if it works there. It didn't work in Vxed or Tipt. Might want to try it in Kod'Taz or other zones with a higher sky.

Did you have any type of levitate spell on?

Too bad the 1.5 dragons are resistant as all hell. Took me 3 hours to chant down the stupid forest dragon.

Plugin/trick worked splendidly just wasn't very time efficient.
