Guide - Slow Mounts Anonymous - A Guide to Getting Faster!

So, you have a slow horse and you're tired of being left behind?

I was in this position not too long ago, but after doing some research I learned that once you have used a Fast2/raidspeed/vel 75 mount, all of your mounts are automatically granted this speed.

How do I get one of those mounts?

1. You could camp Seru or Emp Shrae , but these camps are normally already taken.

2. Complete progression on an expansion (ex. VoA, UF are two of the easier ones)

3. Complete an older raid and get an essence of speed drop to upgrade your roboboar (if you have an older account with it in claim, or want to complete a quest for a tier1 boar I believe)
-There is also a SoD raid where you can get the Solekakor mount.

4. Purchase one of the LoN loot prizes. There are several on my server and they usually retail for a krono/2mil pp.

**5. The easiest method imo, The King's Court Casino!
-The King's Court Casino is fairly easy to play, but you're going to need a few things. The casino will hand out 8 different prizes for golden tickets. These golden tickets can usually be purchased in the bazaar (I've seen them sell for 10k-250k or with about 960 loyalty tokens).
-Once you hand in a ticket, you get a shot at one of the 8 prizes, but you're looking for the giant glowing black drum.
-Fortunately, 6 of the items are tradeable and lore (if the prize wheel lands on an item you already have, you get your ticket back).

#To ensure success you're going to have to aquire two golden tickets and ask someone in general if you can borrow "a casino kit", meaning the 6 tradeable, lore items.
#If you can't find a casino kit to borrow, you'll have to buy the 6 items. This includes, 1. fungus covered great staff, 2. Vibrating guantlets of infuse, 3. ton po's stick of understanding, 4. scimitar of the mistwalker, 5. rubicite bp, and 6. the holgresh elder beads
#All of these items can usually be found in the bazaar (on my server they go between 20k-100k ea)
##Now that you have your 6 lore items and 2 golden tickets, your only possible prizes will be the no-drop mask of the deceiver or the glowing black drum!
###It might take awhile to land on the correct prize, but you're guaranteed to get it, and have a 75 Velocity speed on all your mounts! Congrats!

PS. To my knowledge there is only one 85 vel mount, but it comes from a RoS raid, so good luck with that!

you can farm the imo best looking mount from this event https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=3502 only problem is its has a 15 min duration you have to wait though

Nice post @wymranar. Was looking for better mounts for my silver accounts. Actually using the ones from bazaar. Was tampeted to do eok prog too to get them the rhino, for the buff stat since it's pretty easy now.

FYI here are the different speeds in eq. I think bard speed is slightly faster than 75 vel, maybe 77

Immobile / Stationary / 0 Velocity / Rooted

• Very Slow / Slow1 / 32 Velocity / Just barely faster than unmodified Running
• Slow / Slow2 / 43 Velocity / Slower than SoW
• Moderate / Run1 / 53 Velocity / Faster than SoW
• Fast / Run2 / 64 Velocity / Faster than FoE
• Very Fast / Fast / 75 Velocity / Almost max Bard speed

Casino is the fast way, expecially if you have enough accrued loyalty tokens across many accounts to build your own borrow bag.
Emperor Ssraeshza drops White Ornate Chain Bridle, about 10% drop rate, 3 day respawn, so that may take up to a month, occassionally he may drop two. Dunno if they have fixed the insane Fabled version which would activate regardless of which blood golem was killed and then respawn because the blood golem to actually activate the regular Emperor was not killed (since the regular emperor had not activated and died), so could kill him every 2 hours.
Lord Inquisitor Seru drops the Black Ornate Chain Bridle, about 10% drop rate, 3 day respawn, so that too may take up to a month, and again occasionally he may drop two.
Praesertum Bikun, Vantorus, Matpa, and Rhugol (the 4 shard of the _____ NPCs for the Arx Key) also have a 10% drop rate for Black/White/Tan/Brown Ornate Silken Bridle, 3 day respawn, color depends which one drops (always the same color for the same Praesertum NPC)
Grieg drops a Black Ornate Silken Bridle, about 10% drop rate, 3 day respawn, and occasionally may drop two.

*** All the NPCs you listed besides Emp Shrae and Seru drop a 65 vel Mount I believe. Just an FYI if anyone attempts camping some of them.

Holy cow, thanks for this. I had a bunch of old accounts with maxed crowns on my box team so I was able to put together a casino kit and still have enough to buy ~3 more tickets on each character (except the main who now has all 8 items). Super fast mounts for all?

I'm on FV which is a new server to me, do you think once I'm done with all my shenanigans some of these items will sell in the baz? EDIT: Put a bunch up including a golden ticket for cheap just to get myself a stake since I'm literally broke.
