and the first thing I did was equip it and click the permanent buff! This is the 2nd highest Form of Defense in game!

then I put the ring in my attuned ring into my Urthron's Ultimate Unattuner that I bought from the Loyalty Vendor for 432 Loyalty points.

Clicked the box and bam, its just like new again... wanna guess what I did next? well I will tell you! I traded it to each of my 11 tanks, clicked it, unattuned it and handed it off. Then I contacted guildies and friends and let them borrow the ring for 30 seconds so they too could click the buff, unattune and hand it back! Been doing this for years with Ancient cloak of Flames Overhaste Clickie

next time you get a sweet rare, share the permanent clickie with your friends, they will love you for it!
 
I do this very same thing. Pro tip: make sure your account has enough loyalty points to actually buy the unattuner before you attune the item.
 
yeah for me, I tell friends I have the item, then I ask them to go buy the unattuner before I even hand over the item.... saves a lot of headaches when they come back and say, I only had 200 loyalty so I can't unattune it...
 
Strifetorn Necklace (TBM random zone drop, pretty common actually) has an overhaste clicky on it too, I think same as the one on the cloak.

I didn't even know there was a way to unattune an item in the game.... Guess one of the reasons playing on FV makes me ignorant to live servers =P

Now to the post... is there a way other than time in game, as per the Loyalty Velocity, to earn Loyalty tokens? For example a quest or something completed and you get 5 Loyalty tokens.............

I needs me black drums and unattuners!

EQ Knowledge Base - Loyalists of EverQuest

Loyalty Tokens (a/k/a Crowns) were added to the game on September 8, 2010. They are not tradeable. 

From the September 8, 2010 patch message: 

"  Loyalists of EverQuest is a program for our loyal EverQuest customers. For simply continuing to subscribe to our game you will gain a special currency (crowns) every week that can be spent on items to improve your game play. There is no additional charge for the items you find on this vendor. You will not need to spend station cash, nor buy Legends of Norrath packs to gain these items. Simply continue to play our game. Seek out Alerynril the Loyal in Plane of Knowledge for the current loyalty items. 
The amount of crowns you gain each week will increase for every month that you have a continued subscription to EverQuest. This increase in points per week caps out after 12 months. This is the "Velocity" you see on the welcome screen. The specific method of subscription is not important, as long as you continue to stay subscribed each month. Additionally, long term subscribers will gain an initial bonus of crowns, depending upon the duration of their subscription. For each month your subscription lapses, you will lose three months of velocity. 

NOTE: Loyalty points are shared across all your characters on all servers. Choose which character gets the rewards carefully!

More info from this thread by Ngreth, EQ Developer on the SOE forums: 

"  [Crown earning rate is] 10 per week per month subscribed, capped at 12 months. 
so if you have been subscribed at least 1 year, you get 120 per week. 

We do expect there to be a cap on the amount that can be accumulated as well because we want people to log in and play, not just hold an account for a year. We figure it is healthier overall for the game if people come in and play. 
 "  

Maximum amount cap 

There are limitations to how many Crowns you can save up at once through the Loyalists system. Once your account's cap is reached, your account will not be able to earn more crowns through the loyalty system until you've spent some. 
 Accounts with Gold membership: Velocity caps at 120 and Crowns cap at 5760.
 Accounts with Silver membership: Velocity caps at 60 and Crowns cap at 2880. Please note that for Silver accounts which have downgraded from Gold Membership, Velocity will be reduced to meet the Silver-level cap. Any Crowns which exceed the Silver-level cap will not be lost, although you may not gain more Crowns until you have dropped below the Crown cap for Silver membership.
 Accounts with Free membership: Velocity caps at 30 and Crowns cap at 1440.

Even when an account's Crowns are capped as far as the Loyalists system is concerned, however, you may still be able to gain additional crowns via in-game means. Some polls and special quests or events may offer loyalty points as a reward. There may also be opportunities on the Test server to gain crowns through participation in testing new content.

There are two vendors who sell items for Loyalty Tokens: 
 Plane of Knowledge - Alerynril the Loyal [Loyalists of Everquest] 
 Sunrise Hills (Player housing zones) - Pagus Nonad [New Tanaan Tax Authority]

HOT TIP: Permanent Buffs like Knowledge of the Past XXIV are just as good after you revert to FTP but you can ONLY click a PRESTIGE item while you are PAID GOLD Status....

I have a question about how all of these items work.

Let say that you have an item that you click click pass, say Knowledge of the Past XXIV. so now you 29/29 in your General AA section.
You then unattune and pass to another char, you still have 29/29 in the AA and the buff but not the item.
Lets say you accidentally click off the buff or lose it somehow.

If you clicked an item that say had Knowledge of the Past XX on it, would you get the 29/29 buff back by using the lower item or would you have to click on a 29/29 item?

More of a theory question.
 
There is no longer an actual buff required for the effect. They turned the abilities into AA. The abilities are permanent so you would maintain 29/29 regardless of if you have the item or not and regardless of if you click another version for the "Dummy buff"
 
I must be missing something cause i wasnt playing when this clickie permanent buffs came out..but im at Form of endurance XI and i got an item that gives the lvl XX ...when i click this iten nothing happens and the AA wont upgrade...so what am i missing? do i need a lesser one then the XX?
 
did you put it on 1st? it must be attuned to you 1st.... ie, equip it
