Discussion - Shaman Spiritual Surge - Single or Group Heal?

For KissAssist should Shaman Spiritual Surge be a treated as a singe or group heal or both?

Best thing is single because if one person is getting hit its still a better heal and has a low refresh timer (10s) it is also the best group heal in the game.

I find treating everything as a single heal pretty much works ok. Specifically for shaman, I use the group heals as first choice over single heals. My personal order on macros is Unity of Spirits if below 30 > Fast group heal if target is sub 40% > normal group heal > single target > single target that hurts me. I don't actively use many of the targeted AE due to some targeting issues youll run into and the fact that I keep group HoT up perma so I rarely have deaths anyway, but if I was to work it in, it would be after the other 2 group heals just out of convenience of not interfering with UI.

Now if my shaman was out of group or I was playing any toons out of group, it would jump to number 1 on the list for obvious reasons.

Its not a free target heal. Its a rain heal it heals everyone around your target including your target but you cast it like a normal spell. It is also the best heal in the game 3 rounds of 30-45k crit heals. Its like a 40k heal every 6s for 18s with a 10s recast.

I am going to default it to a group heal but it will act as single heal with the |Me or |MA tag

Surge doesn't act like the splashes. It doesn't have the dumb targeting ring.

Well, SOB! I had only read the description and thought it was targeted AE so i hadnt bothered running to buy it. Used it all night. crits for about 15-18k for me in T1 group gear. Solid spell. I would still use it after the other 2 group spells only because of fast cast on first one and group recourse on second. But solid spell, thanks for mentioning it!

I ran out and got it b/c of this post also, and seeing about the same on crits. william12 what's your secret to getting 30-45k per tick out of this?

Raid focus I treat it like a huge 18s HOT. You cast it and still cast your main heals if you need to.
