just returning to live.. download kiss. have used it before so its kind of coming back.
currently looking at making 3 or 4 heroic chars to make a crew. Looking to use a bard Have a 103 shaman as well.. was thinking 2 mages bard shaman.. then the Merc's. not sure what botted DPS classes work well without being geared out. if anyone has any input on a good beginner crew I would appreciate it. Thank you

Welcome back!

I tell people frequently the "Holy Trinity" is alive and well. Real Tank, Real Healer (Clr or Shm), and real CC (bard for melee and ench for casters). You can really mix and match based on goals and preference anything - but having a real tank, dedicated healer, and a CC (not root, or punts, or necro mez etc) makes life substantially easier if you're looking to do named and progression and missions etc.
Check out the video in my link for some info on using eqbc, mq2nav, some kiss functions like /camphere, etc.

SK shaman bard should be pretty solid then? I also have a 104 cleric i was thinking of using later. my only concern was DPS really

Shammies are definitely viable and capable healers. And are popular with sks and melee groups.

TBL really hurts, so clerics are really nice in my experience (no raid gear).

Zerkers are kinda flavor of the month lately due to how well they perform plus mq2berzerker.

I run warrior, clr, bard, zerk, zerk, bst , but lots of group makeups are viable.

Some people use shm for more dps focused and backup heals. Sk, clr, bard, shm, zerk, zerk/rog could be real fun.

I was thinking of getting my shm tbl so i could mix him in sometime, because shammies are a fun class.

yeah was looking at some of that and the Zerk deeps..
SK sham bard cleric x2 zerk might be what I do.
just need to figure out the easy way to get 2x heroic zerkers. 35 bones is crap

@kieltwo What server?

So you have a SHM-103 and CLR-104 already?
As said earlier BER is fotm especially with plugin because of how good their DPS is (i dont have one so dont know)
  1. SHD/WAR
  2. BRD
  3. BER/ROG
  4. BER/ROG
  5. CLR 103
  6. SHM 104

SK is a great tank, and really actually enjoyable to play. Shaman healing is fine up to TBL, but I do prefer a cleric in TBL content. It's not really hard or time consuming to get a toon to 85 anymore, if you want to forego the heroic cost. Depending on what server you want to play on, may can even get some help getting them to 85. (If you are on Tunare, let me know if you would like some help)

not sure SK or warrior really.
dont plan on using the tank a lot as in playing it.. would play bard or shaman probaby

dug into all my boxes and found another HC available.. so looks like the 6 box crew of war cleric bard sham zerk zerk gonna happen..

SK/ warrior is my only debate now.. not sure which one is gonna be better for the sake of taking hits.. SK seem to get real good but with the Zerker deeps etc warrior seems like they are easier to get beefy

Kiel,
Sk have a lot more utility and Feign is awesome for getting the group back up. However War will always be more beefy when AA'd and geared. I tried an 3 Mage and one Monk group before with a CLr merc. it was fun for 70 and below, but as we got higher and hit 80s it was more difficult than being on a real tank and using all my controls from there. ANY setup that has good ini will always yield good results, but its when you get to the nameds that that 'Holy Trinity' works better than everything else.

If you intend to do any raiding.. you cannot rely on mercs, so 6 characters will always be good. Welcome back to EQ and RedGuides!

yeah trying to get everything set up on the characters then gona grab the zerker bit. training wheels on trying to figure stuff out

trying to get the mq2zerker thing to work.. something different I have to do? watched sics videos but doesn't work paid and downloaded the dll file and placed it with the other DLL files

can anyone explain the mesh thing to me? its something im not familiar with and apparently need it for m22berzerker

I found some mesh files.. got everything going.. holy crap those ZERK are MEAN MEAN.
working through the caster ini.s.. bards are weird to set up or im crazy idk

I found it easier to play bard then relying on Mq2twist with some of the changes that was made to melody u don’t have to worry about a locked song stoping ur twist. Also bards really don’t need much work to be good just well setup macro’s.

I’m not at home at the moment but basic setup for my bars is.
/melody use’s the number of the spell slot to cast the spell
Example: /melody 13 12 1 2 3 4 5 6
Main DPS:
1. /g (group message) (I use this to tell when dps is rolling)
2. /pa.use 32,/cast (slow)(disable like it is if not meming slow or /useitem to cast item slow
3. /pause 10,/useitem (BP name)
4. /pause (epic name) (I dont remember cast time but what ever it is add 0.1-0.3 depending on ur lag)
5. /melody Aura, Jembels Lively, (spell rotation)

AE Mez:
/melody AEMez 1 AEMez 2 AEMez 3 AEMez 4 AEMez 5 (don’t end mez at end) will cast mez as soon as it’s up.

Pacy/Single Target Mez:
/melody (P/STM spell slot) I use this slot depending on how I plan on pulling.

Fast DPS: 5 AA’s that have a reuse 5min or less
Burn DPS: 5 AA’s that have a 10 or more

Ohh Shit:
1. /pause 3,/attack OFF
2. /pause 3,/alt activate (Lyrical Leap)
3. /pause 3,/alt activate (Fading Memories)
4. /alt activate (group invis) I do this for undead invis

Assist:
1. /pause 2,/afol OFF
2. /pause2,/xtar 9 (set extended target 9 to MA’s target)
3. /pause 2,/attack on
4. /melody Jembels Lively (songs)

I’m pretty sure theses are fairly close to some of the keys that can help ya until I get back Home. Use them and if ya like them I’ll give ya my exact keys that I have.

I got things rolling.. adjustments etc. warrior running out of end fast so working that issue. the rest is legit. EQ zerker is beast
poking around different areas to get them leveled up.

is there a way to OOG a cleric / shaman and have him heal everyone or just the main tank?
also digging around still but having problems with my cleric not rezzing no idea why yet.. I probably jacked something up.. going to make a new ini and just copy paste the buff/heal lines

definitely - you can do this with kiss using the X-Target

Kiss Xtarget Healing Info

You will need to turn on Xtarget in your kiss ini, and then manually assign targets to your Xtarget in game - by targetting them and then right clicking on the Xtarget slot and selecting "current target".

Code:
XtarHeal=1
Turns on and off XTarget Healing. Is used in conjunction with XTarHealList, and has 3 options. 0=off (Heal Group Only), 1=on (Heal Group and XTargets), and 2=on (Heal XTargets only). Note: Will Heal Self in all modes.

XTarHealList=2|3|4|5
all=Use all XTarget slots.
To only use a specific XTarget slot set equal to the slot number, to use multiple XTarget slots separate slot numbers using | character. Example: XTarHealList=2|5|6|10|11 will use XTargets 2, 5, 6, 10, and 11 to check for healing. It is not recommended to use Xtarget slot 1, KissAssist has some features that expect Xtarget1 to be auto-hater.
XTargets on this list will be checked for rezzing. Note: You should have all your XTargets setup before starting Kissassist, and if you add or remove entries to your XTarget window, you will need to restart kissassist.

If your Ini has something like
Rez1
Rez2
Rez3 in it delete those and make sure ur KA is up to date

Heals1=Blessing of Resurrection|0|Rez or Rezooc or Rezcombat
Something like the above (still out of town) should fix problem. Hard to know if it is the problem tho with out ini info to look at.

Edited:looked up correct heal command for res

Yup this info is correct as well

Kiss 11.002 had some changes to the way rez functions.
You now need your rez spells inside your heal section (I put mine at the top)

Code:
Heals1=Divine Resurrection|0|rez
Heals2=Blessing of Resurrection|0|rez

New Rez tags:
rez = In and out of combat.
rezooc = Out of Combat only
rezcombat = In Combat only
Also double check that you still have
AutoRezOn=1
and that your rezaccept looks correct `RezAcceptOn=1|90
Highest "normal" rez is 96%, many people use 90%, however

You still need AutoRezon
AutoRezOn=1`

MQ2Rez has recently been updated as well - you can check your mq2rez settings by /rez settings

trying to use throwing ammo.. it uses them at time but gets way too close.. is there a setting I don't see to have them throw from a certain range?

PullRadiusToUse=90 is the [Pull] aggro range setting. It is the percentage of the item/aa/spell's range that you want be within to use it. 90 is the default.

However it doesn't force you to be that range, you can be closer. If there are obstacles or you're in a tight dungeon, where the puller will swing around a corner and be right on top of the mob then KA will just pull upon arrival. There is no setting to "pull at max distance" like a real player might, where they peak around corners or angle themselves to be farther away. KA just uses MQ2Nav until you're line-of-sight and within the PullRadiusToUse percentage. Sometimes that means you bee-line right on top of the mob before firing the pull item.

yeah it used a shuriken once or twice.. baught some better ranged ammo.. still runs right up to the mob and ends up facepulling no idea why. but if I throw on boastful bellow.. no issues
