Summer has been busy here at the studio as we continue to plug away to bring you some fantastic quality-of-life updates over the last several months. From group quest overhauls to making the Bazaar more accessible, here is a quick look back at what we have been working on.
The team has taken a good look at multiple Hero’s Journey quests and shifted them to be more group friendly. Several quest items such as One of Lize's Trinkets, Anarynn's Lost Gold Locket, and Void Etched Symbol will now drop for the entire group rather than forcing your group to fight over single drops.

For our Progression Server players, August brought about an awesome change; Translocator Cogsley is now hanging out in the Commonlands to give you access to the Bazaar even before Shadows of Luclin unlocks on your server. We also rolled out a wave of improvements to the Resource Hunter system, adjusting how and where bonuses spawn to make your time in Norrath feel more rewarding.

We’ve also touched on class tuning for Enchanters and Magicians, Shadow Knights, Shamans, and Rogues; no more rogue shock procs zapping your friends! And finally, we added handy min/max stat filters to the Bazaar search window to make your bargain hunting a breeze.

Our developers also tackled some long-standing inconveniences in our monthly updates:
  • UI Upgrades: We added an Expansion dropdown to the Find Item and Bazaar Search windows to help you filter through your loot down the line.
  • Model Fixes: Original character models should now show helms and robes much more reliably.

Now a quick reminder that fundraising is underway for Extra Life! We are already over $55K towards our $115K goal this year, and I have no doubt we will surpass that goal with ease. We have some wonderful group, individual, and fundraiser incentives. Be sure to check out the Extra Life Guide for how to join Team Darkpaw if you have not done so yet. Thank you to those of you who have already donated or started fundraising. We will keep you posted as keys get sent out.

Some of the Extra Life incentives: Cobalt the Riding Dog, Metamorph: Cerulean Veilwing, and Gold Beanie

We have events such as Fall Fun and Festival of Shadows happening now, and Extra Life Bonus Week, Feast of Giving, Raid, Raid, Raid and Frostfell coming up. We will also be implementing a new system for Account-to-Account transfers. We also have been working on being able to select multiple items in bags for taking action on at once! The first pass will see the ability to parcel multiple items all at once. More information for both will be provided once they are closer to being implemented.

Finally, I’d like to discuss the 2026 expansion. This year’s expansion is called... wait for it... Favors of Fortune. Beta and pre-orders will begin on October 6, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. PT. We will also be having a Developer Livestream on November 17, 2026 which we will post up all the details on as the time for it grows closer. Now, allow me to set the scene for you.
In the uneasy calm following the gods’ brief but brutal war, Mithaniel Marr and Rallos Zek struggle to forge a truce. Yet even as they negotiate the end of open conflict, Mithaniel’s focus fractures. A shadow clings to his thoughts, an unspoken fear for his sister, Erollisi Marr. Something has changed in her, something he cannot ignore. When he finally speaks, his voice carries a weight that shakes even the divine: Scorn has returned.
As adventurers begin their search, the first signs are subtle, then unmistakable. Across the lesser planes, chance itself twists unnaturally. Simple gambles collapse into disaster. Once‑reliable odds warp into impossibility. Victories slip away as though guided by an unseen hand. The very fabric of luck feels poisoned, bent toward failure by a force both deliberate and unseen. No one can yet explain how or why, only that the pattern is spreading.
With the gods distracted, fate unraveling, and Scorn’s influence rising, the path ahead grows darker by the hour. The champions of Norrath must step forward once more, not knowing whether fortune will favor them, or betray them at every turn.
Reminder, beta and pre-order for Favors of Fortune will begin on October 6, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Until then, check out our amazing key art and logo for Favors of Fortune! Keep your eyes peeled for more information.

didnt they get rid of that like 12 years ago?
It broke about 10 years ago. And they could not bring it back due to various reasons.

About every 6 months players would ask for it . Begging for it to be brought back. I don't think they are going to get the response they would have gotten before players got tired of waiting or before personas were introduced. I know it took 6 months for it to die so if you saw the writing on the wall you started a new character on a different account anyway. But I may be wrong, a lot of old characters are stuck on one account so this will allow them to be moved to their own account.

1. Excited for the expansion, always a great to see EQ is alive and still growing!!

2. Certainly ready to move toons around accounts and get organized.

3. These are going to be some serious ass patch days! (thank you ahead of time devs!)

Love to see the game growing, my only thought on the expansions are, I would love to see some of the old zones revamped. Love to see a major revamp of POK, GuildLobby and so many untouched zones that are mostly empty now. After all these years it would be nice to see some changes in some of the zones. Just my 2 cents here. I am old school and just now getting used to all the changes that were made through the years. I took a really long vacation from EQ and I miss the days when everyone was looking for groups. Doing the LDoN's. With all the LDoN campsites full. Now with the mercs, which at first I didn't care much for, but have grown to like them now that I mostly solo. As always, I am looking forward to the growth of EQ.

Is anyone else nervous to use the Multi Item Parcel send? lol. I could see a few items going missing.
My mind was moreso headed in the direction of 'parcel loot pinata' lol.

Turning POK to a zone that's setup basically like my guild hall (merchant(s), all crafting benches, bank, all teleporters) all within a 15m walk would be pretty epic. Doing the POK run to buy spells for fresh toons is a pain in the booty!
