Will navigate around POK and purchase tradeskill books and then scribe them for you.
Doesn't check if you can afford them. So bring your plat.
This is meant as a direct replacement for scribe_ts.mac by Trapper but the user removed the resource and didn't want it posted, so I wrote one from scratch to replace it.

Been a while since I wrote a macro, hopefully this doesn't disappoint.

Can expect there to be some things that should be added for consideration, like making sure you can afford stuff. But I wanted to get it out prior to the patch as I'm not sure what kinda crazy stuff will happen when they add 2 optional bag slots from perks. Give it a go, report your issues, make your suggestions.

The INI for the zones ScribeTSZones.ini will have the name of a zone as the section, and then the list of merchants below.
The INI for the books ScribeTSBooks.ini will have the names of the vendors as the section, and then the list of books as Book#=Blah

You can update these INI's to add more things, the macro should acknowledge the changes automatically without a need to upgrade the macro code itself.

If you find there is stuff missing feel free to report it, or even add it yourself and share your findings here.
 
I found "Seals of the Soloist" missing from "a cultural tinkering historian"

The following changes will need to be made in ScribeTSBooks.ini

In case anyone is interested I've got a macro that will go to all the vendors in a zone and create a list of their currently available infinite items (items that don't have a quantity are items not sold to the vendor by a player).
Keep in mind I wrote the macro without combat in mind. So use your own discretion when employing it.

I've also included Merchants.zip which has a few zones in it already.
Would likely be helpful to you for collecting a list of books/items in general. I personally use the list for various things, including quickly finding a vendor with an item I need if I happen to be in that zone. This was originally going to be part of a tradeskill macro but I never implemented it for anything, guess it's lucky for us that I already had this bit done for POK.

Keep in mind that for a true complete list you'll want to ensure that Showing only items you can use is unchecked.

I got the error on every account and alt at different stages and it is impossible to reference the bug for me:

ItemDisplayWindow doesn't match the item we should be opening the information for. Please try reloading your UI and trying again. Ending Macro.

The macro stops and a couple of books are not scribed.

I have reloaded the UI. I have loaded the default UI. I have set maxfps to 30. I have the window in the front for max safety. On every account I have the same problem
Do you have any ideas to solve this problem?
 
I tried it a couple of times and it also sometimes does not scribe the book, stops and runs back to the first vendor and ends the mac with the same above error.

This is a macro I waited a long time for. It safes so much time for alts. Great thing, if it would work. Testing further, perhaps I can find any reason.
 
Strange:

the "show only items i can use" tag is always back on when restarting the macro. I think that he misses books if that tag is active.
 
Tried to put some delays into the routines for comparing the books but this does not change anything, sporadically kicks the macro.
 
I changed the order of the merchants. The macro gets kicked at "a culturual tinkering historian" at the book "Seals of the Soloist.

It expects: Seals of the Soloist Got: More Seals of the Soloist
That happens at the stage where it should jump into "Seals of the Soloist". The macro jumps then back up into "More Seals of the Soloist".
At that point I need to reload the UI, else the UI-bug can happen even on the first book. Somehow after that bug it messes up something with the UI.
After reloading the UI it works upto to book described above.

deleted, the cultural tinkerer from my ini and it happens on "expected recurve bow diagrams; got extravagant recurve bow diagrams"

Looks like it only takes a part of the names for getting the books.
 
I tried this out for the first time. I have the old macro that I ran first, but wanted to see if this would catch the things that one missed (like the entire tailoring historian outside of the library)

It gets stuck on the cultural smithing historian:

Perhaps the fact I had this (and all others before it) already scribed is posing a problem. I've run this twice with the same result, making sure to /reload before running it again.

Is this happening because the macro is not cleaning the inspected item (2nd pic above) after seeing that it is scribed?

In running the macro on a new character in PoK, it's not able to reach Garik Nogflop in Sunrise Hills or Useful Automated Vendor in Brell's Rest.

where should the ini files go? into the Next/Macros directory with the macro, or into the Next/config folder with all the other ini files ?
 
Love this macro, great time saver. My only suggestion is to add which zones it covers besides PoK in your overview thumbnail. (Brell's Rest etc)
 
I'm not sure if this script is still maintained or not. There are lots of errors with books missing from certain vedors (e.g. a cultural discoveries historian), and the script fails and stops entirely as shown in the picture. It failed here on multiple characters. The book is definitely there, but it looks like a wildcard search found the wrong book.

Attached is an updated ScribeTSBooks.ini file that adds a few items I found to be missing and also sorts each list alphabetically. It seems to work fine for me. Just replace the existing ScribeTSBooks.ini file (back up the original one if you want) in \Release\macros. I would recommend disabling mq2itemscore if you happen to use it, as it was causing me issues with this macro.

It appeared to not work in some instances, and it would open up the same window with the same item repeatedly and end or just keep doing more of the same. Everything flies by so fast..
 
Nice, I might try to update an .ini with Abysmal Sea, PoT, Crescent Reach, and Thulisaur Island, or do those not count towards Artisan's?
