Retired from the game 4 years ago. Last expansion played was EOK. Team consisted Tank(warrior),Beastlord, Necro, and Cleric. All were pretty much maxed on their aa and lvl(105) for that expansion. I guess it is going to be the grind game to get caught up. First, do I need to buy the latest expansions for all for 4 members. Secondly , from what I read, grind in EOK since the mobs will give approx same exp and not hit as hard (yes or no)? What are the Must have macros to automate the pulling? Before I used my beast to pull and the team would do their job. I would like to auto this function - thoughts would always be welcome.

welcome back!

no purchased xpac F2P goes up to 110 and TBL xpac - when the new xpac launches it should get bumped to ToV and 115 level cap - so it might be worth for you to just play the game, and wait on buying anything until you decide you're back long term since you have 105-115 you can experience without buying anything.

pretty much all the automations handle pulling just fine - kissassist, muleassist, rgmercs, cwtn stuff, entropy etc. all pull just fine

eok/ros is plenty fine up to and including 110, and if you really like taking your time. the 110-115 is definitely a lot slower - and they really wanted folks to do progression and not just grind in 1 spot. the 4 mission achievement you get can take you from 113 (~30% in) to 115

The mobs in ToV+ hit like Tomahawk missiles. I personally would not buy the expansions until the new one is out if you plan on doing it. More bang for your buck.

You might want to add 2 more toons to the team. CC would be nice and maybe a mage since you seem to like pet classes. The new DS alone from a 111+ mage will make your life a lot easier.

I returned about 6 months or so ago after being gone for about 10 years. In that time I went from 3 accounts to 6 and have my whole group 115 and max aa's. MQ2grind and the CWTN plugins are amazing and have made the catchup relatively painless. I'm now leveling some additional toons and getting them to max aa as well. Next I'm going to working on gearing them up better. Right now they are mostly tov t1 geared and missing some augs. Some have their epics but most do not.

I never worried about keeping them equal in exp. The push to 115 was quick enough that it didn't matter. I did cheat a bit though: I started with a heroic toon (or existing), then leveled them from 85 to 105 at my favorite pl zone with my 115 group. At 105 they joined my group in instances using mg2grind. Depending on my playtime I can go from 105-115 in 1-2 weeks and max aa's in a few weeks after that depending on the class.

Once you have max level, aa's and mediocre gear, playing is fun and easy.

hey thanks for everyone's input. I once had some heroic characters. In all the years playing eq - never played a CC character. I know I did roll a bard but really never played him. Now I have to remember usernames and passwords.

I agree. Probably add a mage and an enchanter. Would fill out the group.

Welcome back Squirrely and Welcome to the Reg guides

I suggest you activate your four toons and then continue the Grind in EOK until 110. If you are sick of EOK and feel more adventurous head to RoS zones like the Overthere.

Don't rush it and take your time, you will need a lot of Alternate abilities catch up to do and work on gear as you do it

Once 110 head to ToV zones and you will see its pretty straight forward from there

Did you get all the progression done last time you played? Those heroic stats really help.

I admit I still (at level 115) hang in FM camp spots just to have an easy mindless session. Still good exp and the mercs can do everything

Look at the armor in the baz. Not sure if you have conflag but you may want to check into that since it not too expensive and the better stuff from COV etc requires no drop ores that you prob can't farm yet.

WB and there is a link in the EQ help page on how to recover those accounts in case you can't remember it all. The first part is automated but you can fill a ticket out for better help on the second part.

you should consider moving over to MacroQuest "Next" there are huge performance gains and especially and particularly framelimiter - I bet you can do 6 with ease

I forgot to mention , You can Buy the T1 TOV armor pretty cheap

You need to be level 110

Armor sells in bazaar and you run to vendor and purchase containers and reagents to combine . That will get you up to speed with gear

Ok plot thickens- great game to inherit friends of long ago accounts - add a mage 105, and I guess I will roll a heroic Chanter. So the group War, Beastlord, Necro, Cleric, Mage and Enchanter. That is a start. Do I just add the Chanter to grp to level her up. All other team is 105.

Necro, Mage, Enchanter, Beastlord is a great combo for keeping the casters in the mana. That should be a pretty well rounded group. But I'd not expect the necro to shine much at all in a non-named scenario

Absolutely! The 85 is safe to group with up to 115. Allow him/her to leach xp and lend what abilities will stick while getting xp for your 105's. Start your Overseer ASAP as that can play a part in gaining xp once it's rolling along.

haha my necro i finally went and leveled on up from 105 to 115 and geared in COV parses a little over the bst that is almost max aa. (bst uses mq2bst).

On longer fights yea it really soars but even in short fights if ya do it right can still dps up well specially once it has the aa's

standard fight i have ini set to use 2 high dmg short duration dots, and then 3 nukes, swarm pet, and reg pet, hitting WTD whenever its up.

Named fight there is 2 longer duration dots 3 short duration dots, 4 swarms, swarm buffs lifeburn etc that really blow things up

still tweaking the ini im doing for necro. non raid geared. waiting to upload it till necro hits close to max aa and i finish tweaking it

The free TBL expansion is really nice, love that arc, great reward for paragon.

With the Tier 1 gear from ToV you can go far in the TBL expansion, even finish the most of the tasks.

You can also have someone go buy the vendor purchased items for you so you don't have to buy that expansion. Try and avoid buying them on bazaar because those are super inflated.
