Who knows a bit about TBM armor?

How viable is it for gearing up undergeared casters 3 105s ? Let's say 2 mages and 1 chanter with crappy ROF gear.

In other words can 3 undergeared 105s gather enough Remnants of Tranquility(RoT) on their own to gear themselves and possibly twink a naked 105 tank?

I only have read what http://tbm.eqresource.com/ has to offer and bits and pieces on DBG forums.

Someone correct me where I am not correct: :)

  • RoTs are freely tradable
  • RoTs can be used without restrictions on appropriate vendors by any level character with TBM(level 85 can buy level a 105 aug such as this: August Sulstone of the Vengeful http://items.eqresource.com/items.php?id=147176?)
  • You can buy Level 75 visibles/nonvisibles for ALL slots cheaply with RoT (5 RoTs per piece)
  • There are slightly better level 75 droppables in TBM zones(seems about 40-50 hp increase on Crypt-Hunters, unsure about focus)
  • You can buy Slot 5 and Slot 9 Augs with RoT for ALL gear slots(expensive at 105, 1000 RoTs per Slot 9 aug)
  • How about Enhanced Minion above EM13? Phase's Shade EM18 has to be farmed any alternatives?
  • There are some better droppable Slot 5 and Slot 9 augs?
  • You can chain certain TBM missions to earn RoT
  • Same TBM mission can give variable RoT reward depending on popularity
  • There are missions where 3 undergeared 105 casters can gather RoTs, any missions for near naked 105s?
  • In 4 months of playing 12 hours a day this caster group should have enough RoT to fully gear themselves

It seems most of TBM gear is now itemized more or less..

I am debating whether it is worth buying more TBM expansions for my army considering I never get around to playing in TBM. :)

Will redcent useful answers!

i decided to equip a naked lvl 100 warrior with TBM vendor gear and it turn out to be crap iirc not even as good as RoF t1 lvl 92 gear. total waste of my Remnants of Tranquility

Thanks Scots, looks like that is not a good option for gearing up then.

UPDATE:
I took a 105 SK with no TBM experience at all into Tranquility (but had 2000 RoT in Alt Currency):

I can buy all the 75 gear with no restrictions from
Lyndalin Delwadamain : http://tbm.eqresource.com/potranqgroupvendor.php

I can buy NO augmentations at all from Group Aug Vendor Wilcher Rifunuse: http://tbm.eqresource.com/potranqarmoraugvendor.php

Zoned into PoHealth for the first time ever and again no augs for me from PoHealth aug vendor Montelio Danhowe http://tbm.eqresource.com/pohealtharmoraugvendor.php

So what quests do I need to do to unlock Augs from these 2 vendors?

EDIT: some threads from early December give conflicting information, some people just kill some mobs for faction, some people just get some progression done, some people raid.

Playj completion of the first three tasks when open up aug purchase. into the temple a and b and the neelo one in poh.

Nope. They are pretty straightforward. Careful with pulls in the instance, the mobs like to add. Also, you should use the macro Noobhaxor made for the Neelo task. Run it on each toon. Its mostly just the third one that takes any time. Also, if you have a rouge at your disposal... the Faith in Relief task is a super easy mission. Hide and Sneak on the rogue for all the updates except the step where you kill 3 mobs.

I farmed "In defense of health" for RoT and non-visible items, especially my 149DMG sword (after auging) "Broadsword of the Stranger". My warrior was my puller, depends on which task you get will determine how easy it is. Normally i had to tank two yellows with discs and clickies.

Keep in mind a couple things.
First you can sell back the items you purchase from a vendor for about half of their initial cost. Also when gearing up run TempleB every time its up. I get 6000 RoT every time I run it. The first few time I recommend possibly clearing the entire zone, You will get extra Verse of Sul and Eternity drops which you can pre-loot for future runs. IF i need to I can do TempleB in about 5 minutes to score 6000 Rem(6 toons 1k per toon) the 3rd drop is a ground drop and its always up north either on platform or around the base. I also tend to get up to 2 type 5 augments a run with the odd spell gem if I am say working on AA for a toon and not doing a speed run.

IF you have toons that can invis/hide/FD there several mission that you can also do very fast. especially the 2 that require you to jump back in forth between life and decay to view the "treasures" in the pit. Once you do them a couple time should be able to do them in 15 minutes or less easily.

I like to pick one toon and focus on gearing him up Tank First usually when you funnel RoT from all the toons to one char you can quickly and easily gear them up. Dont be afraid to use the +32 vendor type 5 augments till you can replace with the drop one it takes some luck and def time to get all the available augment at +40 or higher for your toon and +32 is not to bad considering if you factor in the sell back its only 625 RoT which you can get in under 10 minutes in TempleB or 30 minutes if you have not prelooted.

For Caster its somewhat easier to get all your gems as their are more options in addition to +40 int or +40 wis gems there is also the +40 INT/WIS drops I have not seen a +40 str/sta drop yet but im hoping they exist.

For new toons I am gearing them up at 75 90 and 100 as a single run with my main 6 in temple B will yield enough RoT to fully gear a 75 or 90 and you can just sell back the augs when its time to upgrade to the next tier. This expansion loot system is tailor made for ALTS.

OP asked about how viable it was *for casters* and the answer is - extremely. For tanks... you might run into problems unless you pick the right aug combos to max AC and hAgi/Dex but it's still doable.

The foci upgrades on TBM gear plus the extra heroics and potentially big mana augs will significantly improve gimp casters if they aren't getting pounded on regularly. The first few missions and those in Health are pretty easy so farming Remnants is stupid simple, especially if you're botting an entire group. You should NEVER buy remnants unless you just have loads of plat to waste.

One thing to mention about the Type 5 dropped augs - they're lore. So while they look "a lot" better... that's only a few slots to get your "target" heroic min/maxxed (and let's be honest, they're not THAT much better than purchased slot 5s).

Again, also recall that ALL of this is non-prestige. So it's great for gearing up alts you want to lapse on a sub, but still use. That is one of the biggest appeals. I know once I get some more AA on some TBM geared alt accounts that I have no reason to resub them.

.

There lore but you can have 5 of the 40/40 Int Wis ones and 5 of the +40 int ones IE 40/40 int/wis 20 dex and 40/40 int/wis 20 agil That gives you 10 +40 int augments that require some luck with RNG but are doable. I still think the +32 are more then worth it considering you can sell them back plus RoT are just plain easy to get with multiple toons

The EM is farmed from a named, The Watcher in Crypt of Sul. I haven't seen one anywhere else. You can't buy visible from the vendors, and they are all no trade. If you wanted to be lazy about it, just stand around in one of the TBM zones where a lot of people are camping named and most people will call rots. In my experience, dropped items (from named outside of HA) drop better non-visible gear. You could get them geared roughly with vendor stuff, but you'll still need visible armor.

Ugh.... have to relearn a few classes to figure out the best lego armor mixmatch to do....how much AC is worth how much HP? did they raise the soft cap? I feel my hair falling out....heh

ment to mention, the group augment vendor in PoTranq would not show my anything after completing the first 3 tasks. But the one inside PoHealth does...

how ever the ones inside wont group armor... but the ones outside does...go figure...
--------------------------------------------
Chart.jpg

Just a quick and dirty comparison between TBS's Highwater armor for a Paladin and the Req level 70 group armor sold.
The augments would have to make up the difference at the least (eyeing just AC alone for now) with the top AC augs showing 216, 184, and 151.

3 slots (wrist X2, boots) are an easy choice to upgrade. Also ended up with more hp/mana and +heal and Clar, lost significant +spell.

Legs will drop in AC no matter what, and Chest will go even farther.

I am not up to date with the formula on AC VS HP VS stats stuff for tanks any longer... but just going off whats sold off the vendor, it looks like my tanks will be doing selective upgrading there... heh. Unless I am missing something?

Is there a raid form of EM? probably.

My pet classes have the EM from TDS tempest mob. The nice thing was that it is tradeable.

I guess I will have to camp the named.

Thanks for the info.

Um... what? There are only 3 slot 5 augs with +40 Int/Wis and you can only use one of each. So no... you cannot have 10 of them.

There isn't a "raid" EM but raid items will have higher levels of EM in each expansion relative to the group item. Eventually, the EM on the raid items will end up on the group items a few expansions later.

After the pet mitigation nerfs, it's not really a huge power difference anymore (unless you're using something insanely low like EM12)

UPDATE:

I took a level 105 SK with J5 cleric merc on reactive into doing TBM progression and it did not go too well.

Into the Temple A http://tbm.eqresource.com/intothetemplea.php was trivial, just hail and grab your 25 RoTs, any char can do this. NOTE: you can group other chars and leave in Tranquility to leech RoTs and progression.

Seal of Approval http://tbm.eqresource.com/sealofapproval.php was a bit annoying because of geometry of PoHealth(what happened to open zone design?) but trivial, time to make some MQ2AdvPath routes for this, again easy 25 RoTs, but apparently this has to be done solo by each char.

Into the Temple B http://tbm.eqresource.com/intothetempleb.php is where I stopped after a single kill.

Killing a yellow took me 5mins, so it needs more DPS than a single SK. It seems at the end the boken will be multiple spawns so crowd control would be a plus too.

Also I am a bit skeptical if a EM16 mage pet can tank these as my SK was at around 12800AC with 125k HP and it was a close call a few times.

Anyone solo Into the Temple B ?

EDIT: here is a decent writeup on it: https://naroggsplace.wordpress.com/into-the-temple-again/

Why not take your SK, mage and chanter there? There is nothing to gain soloing it. You'll just kill slow and it's not like you get more remnants by soloing it. All your boxes will receive remnants at the end, so it'd be in your best interest to have as close to 6 box per mission as you can. Even if you will do better by sitting a box out and taking a merc, be sure to /taskadd all your boxes and at the end just suspend the merc and zone in the non-play box to be rewarded with remnants.

Almost none of the missions outside of the first two you mentioned are intended as solo/molo so I'm not sure why you went into it thinking that. Sure, some classes can pull it off but that wasn't the target (solo/molo).

Anyone care to share the ideal armor loadouts for 100/105 casters, tanks, and clerics?

Something that may be worth noting. EXCLUDING T3 group loots that have 3K+ HME and only a 5/8 slots!

It takes roughly 53k-60K Remnants of Tranquility to gem every single slot, not including extras like 1 of each 1 hander and 1 of each 2 hander etc etc...

There is a vendor in PoTranq that is locked behind PoHate / PoFear faction, it takes roughly one full clear of the trash in both raid zones in order to unlock the augs etc on the PoTranq vendor. There are still some items etc that I am unable to see but that may be my hatred for HAs, missions etc...

One last note, THOUGH YOU CAN gear <105 characters .... the gear winds up being complete shit, I do not recommend blowing mass amounts of RoT on anything not 105.

In all truth with the TBM gearing path, it just depends on what you would like your toon to be able to do. For example,my cleric very rarely gets hit, if ever. So I went straight mana/Hwis on his augments (type 5/9) and group geared he is sitting at 114k mana. That to me is fairly significant compared to where he was in full T3 TDS. Granted his AC and HP are lower, but how important is that when he never gets hit anyway. My Bard/Shaman I went pure HP and HSta, they both increased significantly in HP, and mana considering they still got 12 HWis per augment. My Ranger and Zerker I mixed between Hstr and Hdex and its been a very noticeable improvment, as well as the other smaller gains they gathered among the lesser Heroics you get per each aug. For a tank, im not sure how well they can gear..if you go with the high AC augs then you lose HP and vice versa. However I know for box toons, the TBM gear is far superior to TDS when gearing to what you expect of the toon.

I am going high ac and full heroic dex on my tank. It seems like you really need to commit to the Hdex or Hagi camp completely to see the full gain. Not done gearing him so I cant give a final statement as to how well it works. However, he is tanking tbm content as a FTP tank. I camped all the non prestige TBM ac augs and supplemented with the mage summoning ac augs.
