Raz's AFNuke2 for 105 Fire Wizies

I've been playing with this & running gamparse to monitor the group. I believe I read the whole thread and tried everything obvious. I wonder if I'm going after bad targets or something.

Anyway what I'm seeing is after parsing an hour and a half or so:
105 BER - ~44k DPS
105 WIZ - ~35/36k DPS
100 WIZ - ~14k DPS

The 105 is running 'afnuke2' & the 100 is running 'afnuke100'. Fight duration averages around 16-17 seconds. Range between 8-25 seconds in a more or less bell curve distribution with a few outliers.

I'm wondering if short fights + high BER spike output is limiting the wizards in this scenario or if it's more likely that I've misconfigured something and should try to setup again from scratch in case I missed something.

I was basically going off the "100k DPS sustained" numbers I saw tossed around in the thread. So feel like my dudes are probably under performing. Thanks!

well 8 seconds is a bull ride and a wiz fight now.... but 8 seconds means you get off 2 casts maybe 3 so if none of them crit it would be low. if all of them crit it would be high.

Just hit 105 and upgraded my spells for the first time since lvl 85 heroics. I also upgraded my feet, arms, legs, and chest times to Manifested or better (up to TBM on chest and legs).

I'm seeing about 35-75k dps on my fights. Most fights see the wiz cast 3ish times. AA's are only heroic AA's.

I imagine once a few more AA's are under my belt the dps will jump.

I fixed that annoying move forward move backward bug (when not mounted) at the last cast on a mob.
I added a check for indoors and dungeon spells so it wont try to recast the mount over and over when indoors...
I also fixed another casttime bug in General.inc.
Please update:

Main page is all updated, also updated the 85 and 100 versions with the new fixes....

Somehow I disabled the mount functionality, and I can't remember what I did.

Any idea how to put it back (looked in the .ini and can't seem to find an entry for it). Assuming I deleted it out of there, but can't remember the syntax for it.

Thx!

My understanding is it doesn't use a mount, which is why the /sit function is done (via holy/down flags).

Hey guys, my 85 wizzy chews thru mana pretty good causing down time. How do I get him to auto-click a clarity potion? I see buffs section in the INI but there is a type associated with each one and don't know the settings.

Tia

Level 85 worked quite well. That said, hit 100 on the wizzie and the afnuke100 macro doesn't seem to want to work for me now. The 85 macro converted afnuke2 to have spell X = spell Y and it seems the 100 macro does not. Also, 100gem macro I think has a spelling error in it. For spell slot 7 I think it's referencing the stun nuke. However there is a m instead of a j for the spelling of the spell that I could find that was close to it. Taranama vs Taranaja iirc.

Meant to verify about the spell matches but hit 100 shortly before bed and wanted to try to new spells out.

Hope this helps you Raz. Thanks for the awesome work overall :)

Trying to use the level 100 one also isn't working for me, set up everything and then changed all the spells to rk. II in the nuke_toonname thing just to make sure because all my spells are rk. II and it will just cast xuzl and stuff which I think is just one of the holyshits. I really want to use this instead of kiss to see how much dmg I can get but not working out for me. He also keeps not finding my merc tank and i put my other toon in so he changes to the real toon every time. Still just sits there otherwise.

This has never worked with a merc tank, so it'll need a real tank or real assist toon to work properly. As far as the lvl 100 version, I'm not sure about that (my post is sounding more and more ... not helpful). I used the 85 version straight through until he hit 105 and swapped directly to that. At 105 it works really well.

If I read "it wont assist my merc" one more time, dammit!

Look people, pay attention to this sentence! This is the last time I am going to fucking say this... AFNUKE does not Support Mercs! So Work your ass around it! DUH! How? Well you could pay for plane fare and 3 nights in a 5 star hotel for me to come to your house and type on your keyboard for 10 minutes or you could simply have the wizard assist another player in the party who is NOT a merc but is running kiss or whatever that will gain agro on the target mob! The wiz will assist a mage or a rogue or even a ranger if you really want to see mayhem. Use your brain, people get so stuck on "he has to assist a tank," no he doesn't, he can assist any other player that is not also a wiz! This is what we call logic. Think like the program thinks and you will be fine. I apologize for the rudeness of this post but damn people! how many times do you have to tell people the answer to the same damn question! I still love you guys!

SOOOOOOooooooo...................... What you telling me is if I fly you out to where I live, and set to up in a nice cozy room, you'll program my functionality of this macro for me? (Jk)

Doing lower level zones to 105 I assume? Like morrels or something? I know using it for RoF content even with max malo on the mobs they still mitigate a lot of the spell damage through their resists

Man, you're gonna make me try to remember where I leveled this dude up, aren't you...

Frankly, I tried putting him (and other recent heroic toons) in the same group and letting them level themselves up, but was getting more deaths than I liked because KISS wasn't playing nicely with Mage pet pulling, tanking, and mez. So, I got fed up and added my 105 SK tank to the group and slaughtered everything. Did Ground until about 90, then MC until maybe 94, and then I said "f it" one more time and took my 105 main group to a CoTF zone, set them up (105 tank, cleric, and two other 105 DPS toons) and added the 95-ish wizzy and 95-ish chanter. At 95 with chanter tash I wasn't seeing resists. He was nuking away with his little 85 spells all happily. Now that he's 105 he's REALLY nuking away happily.

The only time I saw a shitload of resists was when someone let my sub-90 wizzy into an Into the Temple (b) instance (lvl 105 version). My guy couldn't land shit on anything. I never did that again lol.

I wasn't noticing resists so much as lower nuke damage due to the mobs still having high enough resists to mitigate a decent amount of the damage. But that was in Chelsith beach and I think the turtles who I noticed have obscene levels of resists were the only ones I saw that on. And that was with a fully upgraded 105 malo on them, don't remember if I had the chanter added by then or not.

CotF makes me jelly right now. Sk is 103 waiting for 105 to get a full revamp on gear and chanter is 97, so almost feel comfortable moving to CotF to AFK farm a bit. Chelsith XP is so painful right now lol.

CoTf was designed for 95-100 so if your team is 100 then by all means, CoTF it up! they will be fine!

I don't know how your team is geared, but I'm pulling trains in CoTF with a 105 SK that is not fully TBM geared (smattering of TDS and COTF gear with his TBM visibles. I'm concentrating on gearing him because of the boost it gives the rest of my team if the tank can tank beefier stuff. If Raz is suggesting moving up to CoTF then it's worth a shot... I moved there at his recommendation and haven't looked back. My chanter just turned 105, so I think my next goal will be to gear him a bit, get his spells, and move to a TDS zone. I got a few CoTF rares (2, actually, within hours of each other lol) over the course of like a week or so worth of afk leveling/AA's at a VERY casual rate. If I stayed there I would actually edit my puller to grab stuff further away and increase the rate of killing, but that also increases your visibility... So... Yea.

Thing is that my gear is rather lackluster on all but my healer and aas are also a bit lacking. I was planning to deck my sk out in 105 TBM gear once I hit 105 with him. In the mean time he's in a mixture of RoF t1 gear, heroic gear, and RoF t4 raid gear. So was thinking I should wait on the chanter to get to a level where he can mez CotF mobs so that I can safely AFK farm. I don't know CotF zones well at all since I was on break between HoT and TBM so not sure if there are gems like chelsith beach with nearly guaranteed single pulls that would make it much more likely in me being able to AFK farm there while at work. Just figured I'd play it safe since I'm relatively close on both counts just it's really slowed to a crawl once I hit 100 and it noticeably slowed down once I got past 95. 85-90 it blew through in no time, it was a bit slower going from 90-95 but 95-98ish I'd get a level in about a 4-6 hour time span and 100+ it's maybe half a level in that same period of time. So as much as I want to do CotF I'm a bit nervous on branching out there as it stands due to my team's own limitations

Mind PMing me any advice spot wise on this? Don't want to derail raz's thread too much. Raz recommended CotF at 100 to me as well, I was planning to take the advice but saw in the EWK thread that CC was needed and I knew that between my under geared tank / most of my characters in general and my CC being too low of a level to CC EWK mobs that I should wait a bit on it. Half of my crew is 96/97, other half is 103/105. Shaman is 105, sk + wizard are 103, bard is 97, chanter and Mage are 96. Gear on sk is above.

Thanks very much both of you for the advice (red cented as well :))

Gilly avoid named in CoTf until your whole team is latent or better geared, but other then that its golden!

I tell ya I have a team in Neriak 4th gate wearing Latent on the tank and Fear Touched on the rest of the team, Totally FTP and they kill it!

Sorry about this patch Raz, this macro is going to take some updating for sure. At the very least should kill force casts when ITC is up and running.

Sounds good, thanks :)

Unfortunately out of red cents to give at this point

Is the macro broken or just slightly less optimized compared to before?

the mana cost is proving to not be a huge problem so leaving it in for now

just toss a bard in with TBM and the mana he brings offsets it all!

Still works, pretty well actually. A bit more mana usage and some spam in the eqbc window ("i am going to loot"). I am sure it could use some tweaks, but my last couple fights have averaged 85k dps.

I currently have `15 x 105 wizzies in game all casting and with or without bards they are not running out of mana so... meh

Depending on how fast you pull/kill. Also are you using dicho spell ? When I setup afnuke for max DPS even my 140k mana wizards run oom without a bard because I'm killing/pulling 200 + mobs an hour.

Solution: always have a bard ;)

Bards were not my first class chosen as a main, but I eventually landed on them and raided with one for a long time. I love them!

Damn. I need 15x 105 wizards. I only have 2. Maybe I should swap my enchanter for a bard...? Is bard dicho > IoG? I rarely run oom with one wizard (TBM raid geared). I suppose if I pulled non-stop I might.

@Raz -- I'll give this a looksie I'm running a group that includes 3 wizards curious to see how this performs in comparison to KA9.X

Random feedback: Might be more productive to post a single .zip of the files vs each file individually.

Thought about a single zip but some of the files are needed for different levels of the afnuke so I broke them out

Personally, I like them broken out. I can also open them from the site if I want to glance at something quickly when not at home and when downloading a .zip would be no bueno (like at work).

Quick question Raz:

Why don't you use the dicho Nuke in the 105 version? If it's mana constraints just have it set for GoM only.

Also I've noticed when I use the spell gem Mac for 105 it'll tell me error can't find a spell and then it'll mem it (think it's spell slot 6, but can't remember off the top of my head and not on my computer) and I think it's spell slot 9 it'll name the same spell and load the self mana buff spell instead of the spell mentioned

I second this... Plus the call assist on a merc. I like to keep the wiz mercs on burn but I need a second to grab all aggro.

Friend made me a Holie to add more burn , but lets me get agro first .

holyshit25=/if (${Me.Mercenary.State.Equal[ACTIVE]} && ${Bool[${Me.Mercenary.Class}==Wizard]} && !${Select[${Me.MercenaryStance},Burn]} && ${Target.PctHPs}<92 && ${Target.Type.Equal[NPC]}) /stance burn

pops back to balanced when the mob(S) are dead.

I searched through this entire thread and didn't see anyone mention this.

AFHelp is not implemented as a command (ok, saw this mentioned - but no resolution). The commands are not listed on the main page. So I looked through the code to ascertain 2 things; how to get AFNuke to display the commands, and what the commands are.

I found the sub that lists the commands, but I saw no invocation of it. Since it is even driven, I issued a /echo afhelp and voila the command list dumped. Simply typing afhelp (WITH NO SLASH AS IT IS NOT A COMMAND but rather simply an event) works just fine. So there ya go, that's how to dump the command list. I have only tested this on the 100 and 105 versions. Not knowing the commands has been driving me fucking crazy, but I am just now getting around to looking through the code.

The command list is (taken directly from the code):
Rich (BB code):

/ibounce <alias> <name of buff> - Add an unstackable buff to the alias (Don't click alias if this buff is on you)

Why this isn't on the main page boggles my mind, perhaps they wanted a dynamic command dump without having the overhead of maintaining a static list (only OUT I can give ya).

- - - Updated - - -

Now you might ask, why Incog, were you the fuck trying to use afhelp as a command? Here's why:

Rich (BB code):
/Echo =+= Type /afhelp for command list =+=

That pops at initialization. I'm old school for sure, but where I come from, words mean things.

- - - Updated - - -

Ok, another reason why the command list wasn't published is that at least some are not implemented. Perhaps they were brought over from previous versions and simply not removed from the command dump.

- - - Updated - - -

Would be great if we could add a leash toggle without having to stop macro, edit ini, and restart macro. Searched thru the code, no varset, no sub, no event.

Slightly off topic ... anyone know how a wizard compared to a rogue for group content DPS with a bard?

My core team of SK, bard, cleric is pretty solid, and I am deciding what to make next to replace a caster merc.

I've always enjoyed rogues, but the idea of a wizard for ports and DPS is making me think twice about the next investment.

I will be going heroic and all-access.

Thoughts?
