Question - Ranger vs Bst

Ok , I know I'm asking a lot of questions , but just came back from taking off a few . I play a tank ( pal ) sham, bard , rogue, zerker and a ranger , all otw to 120 . I do have a max aa Bst was thinking of swapping in for ranger . What would be the pro's or cons ?

I would , have a SK , same level , same gear , use the CTWN and pally hands down out tanks him . Stuff dies a lot faster with Sk , but its always dicey . I love both hehe

Ranger cant keep mana up to be good dps after a few pulls and Im constantly using horn and feather to help .

Ranger headshot comes in super handy with ToL. Dps will be much better with all the humanoids imo. I'm also partial to rangers fwiw

If you are having mana issues, make sure the Ranger isn't spamming his nuke or dotting every mob. That will pretty much solve your problem outside of when cheetah is running. 3 arrow nukes and mix in your adps and you'll do fine as a DPS in your groups. If you have to add the nuke, it'll sting but not nearly as bad as trying to dot every mob.

Headshot in ToL is borderline OP. ToL is to rangers what ToV was to pallies/necros.

Right now I'm watching 6mil headshots ROLLING in... with pureshot active those go up to almost 8.5mil ... and it procs often.

Argh I went through this exact thing a while back and benched my ranger for a bst to help my zerk and rog, but ToL is really making me think hard about pulling the ranger back out.

For what it's worth, rogues seem to be getting the same benefit just maybe not quite as much as rangers.

My rogues are feasting.. however.. they dont really provide alot of *support* so if your looking for group beni's, ranger...

To be honest, when my bard got nixed in the latest suspension wave I pulled in a FTP rogue that's been doing out of group dps in ToV/CoV ftp gear. Well, he's 119 now with a bunch of ToL FTP upgrades and he's doing pretty well. I just got my beastlord back, so now its rogue, bst, ranger, zerk, shammy, sk... and not doing that badly. I do have an oog enchanter for haste/crack, which is helpful. The bst definitely helps with the ranger's mana issues, but if you're careful with how you setup the ranger's ini it shouldn't be an issue.

After experimenting , ended up dropping the rogue , and dps has picked up . So is Pal,shm,bard,zerk,bst and ranger . 117 is highest atm , when hit 120 I will be looking for a good ranger ini to HS hehe .

Its posted in many places here. Rogues (like all *pure* classes) are takers. So while the bst cant flat out dps the rogue, there dps + ranger dps + boths ADPS, ends up making the group better.
