Problem - Range Attack Only?

I have a ranger that I use for raids. I need help with two things in particular that I just can't figure out:

1) I'd like to range attack WITHOUT the risk that my ranger will turn on auto attack and stick to the boss if it gets moved close to my ranger. I want him to just stand there, use the bow, and trigger DPS abilities (Arrow Swarm, Auspice, Epic, etc.).

2) What is the setting that determines engage distance? Often times I need to run my ranger up near the boss until it triggers Kiss's attack mode. I'd like to be able to have the Ranger enter attack mode from 200 units away.

Bonus question: I also have a bard. For ranged fights, I'd like my bard to continue using DPS abilities (Quick Time, Epic, etc.), but not actually engage and stick to the boss. My current work around is to turn kiss off, stand in a spot and /twist the songs I want, but the bard won't use his abilities. Not sure a method to accomplish this actually exists. Thoughts?

What raid do you run that a ranger does more damage with his bow then with melee? Cause maybe I have my ranger all wrong but he does way more dps with melee then his bow damage

While the ranger does a lot more damage via melee, some raids require ranged. I play on Fippy and a couple examples from Veil of Alaris:

Beast King on Beast Domain
Voice of Ryken on Sepulcher #4 (failed emote causes AE around the ranger, which is bad if the ranger is stuck on the boss)!

So setting MeleeDistance = 200 will help me engage from a good ways away, but how do I stop the autoattack + stick when someone decides to pull the Voice of Ryken near my ranger?

/stick off - will stop MQ2MoveUtils from sticking I'm pretty sure.

Not sure if MeleeOn=0 would stop your autoattack.

You know another method is just to /mqpause the macro until you're ready to engage. When things look good then toggle /mqpause again.
