Thought I would post some information on Emu Project Lazarus Sever. I've since retired from Live EQ and moved onto Emu due the random banwaves that seem to keep occurring. I find Lazarus fits my pace of play nowadays with kids and other fatherly duties. MQ2/E3 allowed for boxing (No AFK macros or Warping/Ghost killing). I personally switch between Redguides compile and Laz custom mq2 E3 compile. Both work effectively. Redguides compile just offers some more quality of life plugins (mq2 react etc) than the dated compile E3 is run with. However their new compile does include Mq2Nav which makes it much more tolerable.

Getting started on Laz wasn't hard at all. The global drop rates for plat/armor are unique and welcomed. Lvl 1's also can be buffed by level 70s so the lower levels tend to fly by quickly!

Here's a link to their discord. https://discord.gg/u44v6JG4

Here's the introduction via their discord channel by sever operator Dhaymion.

Code:
Project Lazarus is a OoW era server. With an overall goal of catering to a wide variety of playstyles, the server offers a healthy serving of rebalanced and custom content while retaining familiar roots to the base game. Many of the server features, offering something for virtually everyone, can be found below:

 ROF2 Client which includes all available Quality of Life features
 Boxing up to 6 (+1 for Bazaar Traders)
 Out of Era Alternate Advancement
 Custom currency drops and Raid gear merchants.
 Tradeable loot (Attunable above 125 hp/mana, Epics are no trade.)
 No level requirements on loot with the exception of certain procs and click effects
 Custom Race/Class combos, including custom Beastlord pets
 Bonus custom content aimed at both new and advancing players
 Epic 1.0s buffed from classic versions for increased relevance ( Buffed 1.5 and 2.0s now as well)
 Raid tuning balanced for 2 groups. (PoP Elemental-Time: 3 groups)
 Low Tuning on GoD Raids for additional high end challenge
 Instancing for high demand group/raid content.
 Buff, Rez, and Port NPCs among other Quality of Life additions.
 Lots of tweaks and adjustments to classes for increased viability
 MQ2/E3 allowed for boxing (No AFK macros or Warping/Ghost killing)
 And more...

Players who prefer to true solo (or run less than a full group) will benefit from features such as custom currency that gives alternate access to mid-high tier raid gear and the open tradability of the vast majority of items, along with increased XP in instances for soloers. Buff and Rez NPCs also keep those players from doing without the necessities that allow you to get into the action like anyone else. If you’re the type that’s mad enough to solo a rogue to max level, why not enjoy a fresh rez and some warm buffs while you prepare to take on all of Norrath once again!

Those running a full group, casual or high end focused, will find wider group building possibilities with rebalanced classes (Additional main healer viability to Druid/Shaman and empowered battle Clerics for example) that allow for more interesting group combinations with potential to tackle all aspects of the game. No Holy Trinities required, unless you’re into that sort of thing.

The raid scene offers difficulty balanced with 2-3 group raid forces in mind, up to Plane of Time and LDoN, along with a selection of custom Fabled raid targets that offer unique gear and challenges of their own. Flagging and keying is also opened up to allow more players to freely progress from group to raid content by simply bringing along a friend or two, or making new ones to progress alongside of! Additionally, Gates of Discord offers a formidable trove of raid content for those on the cutting edge who wish to test themselves.

Custom quests for server specific starting gear are available to put new players on the path of progression as they level into custom mid and higher tier quests, along with an incredibly deep selection of AAs that keep characters feeling like they have room to grow for a very long time.

The server community is active and involved, with many features aimed towards the spirit of comradery and a low drama experience among the population (MGB XP Potion in PoK! No Batphones required.), along with active GM presence and veteran players who are quick to offer advice or an assist to their fellow players, whether in OOC chat or the server Discord.

Lazarus has continued to grow and flourish past its one year anniversary with every new update, and every new face. So why not hop on by (yes, Frogloks are playable), settle in, and check it out for yourself?

Thank you Jarsath, love that they allow MQ and have a rule against AFK. Reminds me of better times

I have a baby crew over there. Great community from what I'm seeing. And the acceptance of MQ makes it nice to not have to be looking over your shoulder for "big brother" or tattle tales all the time. Really relaxing.

I started a 6 box crew over there a couple of weeks ago and it’s quite fun. Not convinced on longevity compared to Live but will see how it goes. I cancelled 6/7 of my gold accounts after getting first suspension and only raid on live now without MQ. Don’t intend to give any more money to DBG until we have a clearer way forward.

Of all the people I ever played with on Lazarus I only had one small group of people be unpleasant. Otherwise it's a great place.

I've mentioned in other threads, Eris is/was an event planner and I had a blast doing the stuff she set up.

Raiding is really chill as long as you play with some cool folks. Idk what raids I did when I played, it was all alphabet soup names. Maybe GoD? OoW is the last expansion they can do anything with before making custom content.

If I get any hits on Test (again) I'll probably reinstall Lazarus or Profusion. It's hard to consider going back to emu RG compile after being spoiled by the love/test compile. Idk what it is, but it does things differently and I like it.

Either way, Laz is really good. I highly recommend.

Is project Lazarus a game that people can build up their character and items ? Is it a true RPG game ?

A lot of games try to disguise themselves as RPG when really they are not. Game strategy is very important to me and it is to other gamers I am sure

It's EverQuest. It's just a private server and not DPG, so it's tuned differently and has some modifications.

Been on there for a few days getting a new crew set up. So far it's really pleasant actually.

Yes i might wait till mqnext comes out for emu before i try one, i have 5 suspended on test right now and 2 that just come off suspension so im stopping playing on there servers now , Isnt fun waiting for a permaban

I did a google check on project lazarus , dam thing is a cheap first person shooter from a rip off from call of duty zombies !!

what is so special about this game ?

I'm going to give EQ Project Lazarus a shot.

I don't enjoy daily suspense of guessing when Daybreak hits my accounts again so I think it's time to move on.

I have played over there for about 3 months total, on and off. Good community and Dhaymion is laid back and reasonable. I would recommend at least checking it out for those looking to take a break from live.

I cannot believe that that Netdata page is public. I love that it is. I just can't believe it.

I've been on Laz for a few days now. It's taken some time to get up and going (hoping the new emu MQ will be ready soon(tm)). Overall I really like the server. It's really a breath of fresh air, I've only encountered nice folks. Really like being in a boxing friendly environment, not worrying about some asshat going on some kind of crusade about how I play.
Yesterday I worked my lvl 20 toons through the Abysmal Sea trade skills (to 54) and fishing. It was really cool having them all do stuff and me trying to get the aligned so they all did not need the loom at the same time!
Can't wait to get to the point of instancing zones to clobber!

I think this will fit the bill for me for now.

I just tried to open their Discord channel and Windows Security went spastic with severe trojan threats!

Never mind, it was coincidental with an email folder I was opening in Thunderbird at the same time! Nothing to do with their site or their Discord channel!

I've been on Project Laz for a bit over a year now and have very much been enjoying myself. Great community, both player and GM and active development happening for server improvements. Definitely recommended.

+1 for Project Lazarus.

Love this server. Great administrator, too. It's probably the best experience on emu currently for those looking for a new 6-Box home.

So i decided to try this, I followed the directions for install, applied all their patches from discord post the 5/28/2021 mark, created my eqemu account and a loginserver account. Try to launch but only get this error. Anyone have a idea of what i'm missing or did wrong? I've asked on their discord also bot no replies as of yet.

Lazarus Discord has a full EQ folder for their server, infrequently updated. Can easily patch the version hosted with their patch files located in the channel of the same name.

Lazarus Good Drive Link

[Edit]
Nevermind I am apparently unable to process what I read. I see you downloaded this and patched it just like I said initially, even though I already read that you did that and I just didn't process it or something.

Nothing earthshattering for me to add, but for emu its the place I've been calling home. Dhaymion does a great job with the server. He's also adding more content, another 20 zones have been added as beta now for Hardcore zones, 5 tiers. Good folks over there. Lots of nostalgia yet some nice QoL features. No AFK play is huge for keeping the economy in decent shape.

Has anyone runs both EQ Live server and Lazarus Project EQ with MQ2 installed but ONLY use it for the Lazarus Project EQ but don't use it on the live EQ? If so, would you get suspended/ban of your account(s) in the EQ Live server? That is would DG suspend/ban you if they are able to detect MQ2 is installed on you computer even if you don't run it when you playing on the Live server?

Close the mq program I'm the task bar before starting the live client and you will be fine. However if the mq2 is running in memory they may detect it. They are getting really aggressive lately.

so is max lvl 70?
And how many expansions are there vs playable content?
Im a live player at 120 how does this compare?

Max lvl is 70. All xpacs up to OoW are available. Certain out of era AA are available. Looking at about approximately 15k If you want to get most AA. Custom 1.5/2.0 stats. Hardcore custom zones now available. These are on a 1-5 tier system. Tier 3-5 being very end game. Oow gear+/ 10kaa or so to even touch that content. So there’s plenty to do.

There is enough custom content and randomization that there is a mystery factor that can't be explained properly. It has a bit of the feel of the magic of original EQ where you didn't know exactly what was coming next.

Very true. It can be frustrating at times, being somewhat spoiled by all the information that is available for live. I find that /ooc is very helpful and folks generally want to help out. There is a working Wiki that has tons of information to at least get ya started (Allaclone, magelo, tradeskills...). Discord is your friend too.
