"just wondering" is a terrible thread title; I changed it for you.

Before fippy level bullshit starts - Fangbreaker won't be not-truebox until feb 2026, i believe

so the question is purely a non-MQ question

They probably use damage shield PLing. The noob has to do at least 1 damage to each NPC you intend to get xp for. The high level toon gets aggro, brings to low level toon. Low level toon tags each one at least once (pbae nukes are good for this, and a few casters can get them at level 1, otherwise use oil of fenin ro until low toon gets a pbae). Then the high level toon uses a damage shield and keeps themselves alive. Low level toon gets all the xp for mobs they managed to tag. The high level toon must not do any riposte damage either, so a no damage weapon is handy if you're doing it with an SK. On Live EQ, I use an enchanter and druid/mage/ranger. It can be hard to keep the low level toon alive, so it takes some finesse.

Basically what jimbob said. I used to do PLs on an SK back when Mortal Coil was deific. Basically you grab a non-weapon primary to avoid riposting, mass pull a zone that can't hurt you, have some form of AE aggro, have them use an Oil of Fennin Ro or a low level PBAE, then turn on your damage shield and have everything beat itself to death on you. In the era that Fangbreaker is in, a Bard with a healer and a mage or druid (or just the druid) would probably be the best choice. Nothing rips aggro off their PBAE Slow songs, and their DS songs stack with Mage/Druid DS, so they'd pull as much as they can, let the PBAE Slow song pulse a couple times, have the PLee use the Oil 1-2 times due to resists, then cast the DS on the Bard and have the bard start twisting their DS songs and let everything beat itself to death against the Bard.

When you can start grouping with them the Bard can just put you in group and charm kite for very quick XP as well.

the crews on TLP use a mix of dmg shield/aoe and enchanter stun locks ... and they have adapted well with any changes thrown at them. what sucks now is that for the small box guy like say many of us here; its harder to do cause now you need more enchanters etc which means more acct subs yada yada ... for the price they charge in krono if your looking to get endgame quick on a tlp its far more worth it to just pay them the pixel money

If I'm powerleveling up new toons, I always have a bard with the toon I'm powerleveling and level them up together. Use SK to go round up mobs, duel-wielding fire beetle eyes, use AOE aggro spells on sk to grab a bunch of stuff, then bring the train to Bard. Bard pops low level aoe damage song, hits the mobs a few times, meanwhile sk spams AOE aggro spells. Once I feel Bard has hit everything. SK pops damage shield sits in cornor away from mobs. Have an out-of-group mage/druid throw extra DS on Sk as well. Mobs die, Bard and power level toon who are grouped together get XP.

If Fangbreaker has encounter locking, just use yell to break the encounter lock.

Make a bard…get it to lvl 6? (I think) then have a sk with low level ds pull half a zone wielding cone of mystics or a beetle eye…get everything to low hp…fd to drop aggro then have bard aoe shit for the group…same concept with any other class…through that bard you get the whole team you’re lvling exp for the whole train when it dies.

Make sure that bard has lvl 45 cleric buff and a fungi just in case…same concept all the way to 85-90 works line a charm

I've hit 60+ in 1 1/2 hr when using mages, porter, and sk...but there's people who can do this faster. We used to have a dude on our server who for a Krono could get you into 75ish in 2 hrs.
