Question - Power leveling a new Heroic SK

I just recently decided to come back to the game after a year or so absence due to the license key ban waves that hit last year. Prior to that, I had been playing a box crew (using MQ2) with a warrior, cleric, enchanter and wizard. I enjoyed that group make up quite a bit, but have always wanted to play a high-level SK. I've decided to give it another try and renewed my RedGuides subscription this weekend with the original intent of creating a brand new box crew with a SK as the tank, but am thinking now of just using a heroic upgrade on a new SK and then power-leveling him to 105 using my original box crew.

The other option was to create a brand new 6-box crew with SK, cleric, chanter/bard, zerker, beastlord and wizzy/druid. I would only want to actually sub a max of 4 accounts, and I'm not sure going F2P on a couple of those listed classes would be worth it, so again just thinking about power-leveling a heroic SK since that was the character I was most interested in anyway, although a zerker and beastlord would be nice as well if I could do it with only 4 subbed accounts and the rest F2P.

Should I decide to go forward with power-leveling a new heroic SK, I was interested in getting some opinions on what my options would be given that I already have a 4-box consisting of: warrior, cleric, chanter and wizard. All of them are 105 and max TBM era AA in group TBM level gear. I was hoping to avoid adding another account, so if it's possible to just use the warrior and 2 of the other classes to PL the SK (total of 4 accounts), that would be ideal. For example, I was thinking of possibly subbing out the wizzy (that account has a heroic upgrade already available) and then building a War, SK, cleric, chanter and either 2 merc wizards or a merc wizard and merc cleric depending on the need for more healing. Would that be a decent group for getting the SK leveled up to 105 with a decent amount of AAs? Once I do that, the long-term plan would be to play the SK instead of the Warrior for most of my group play. Any suggestions for group makeup and how best to PL that heroic SK? Best zones, methods, etc..?

My advise is to kill two ravens with one rock. Go get the Alaris tear for the defense +%, and level off of killing Alarans in RoF zones, such as the Shard's Landing mission (instanced zone) on repeat.

I'd put the SK on the warrior acct. When both are 105 and max AA you're not likely to need to play both. It also consolidates the classes (tanks) that gain the most from all access on one acct. Other classes lose less by going silver / f2p than tanks.

The ench is likely to become the puller by default, set up with a tank merc and then add a dps merc and you should be able to work your way through the levels relatively easily.

has a list of various places that make reasonable places to go. depending on server you may want to be very leery of populated areas.

chaining the gribbles would put you in a position to set the sk up with level 100 gear relatively easily. From there a transition to TBM should be within reach to gear him up to replacing the warrior

If you're using 105's to PL heroics, this guide for Get to the Beach in Morell's Castle is recommended. Nice and out of the way. If you're planning to upgrade to 23/23 expansions, you can also toss a fresh 85 in a 105/merc group in EoK T1 and level very fast, plus get gear upgrades.

I did a gear path for Heroics write up too, though you can probably skip gear until 105 with a good PL group. I'd keep an eye on the Bazaar for deals on Glowing Seb armor though, it's slightly better than T2 EoK and a very nice tank set. No expansion required as it is from this year's Hardcore Heritage Old Seb, turn in is in PoK and still active.

Thanks for the advice. Still trying to decide if I want to go the Heroic SK route or start a brand new box team. I do agree that I would like to have the SK on the same account as the warrior, but I would think it would be easier to use my Warrior to PL the SK and also my my heroic is on the account with my cleric anyway :) I will definitely check out the Get to the Beach advice, I had forgotten all about that. I would probably hold off on purchasing EoK on all my accounts until I get back in the groove of things. Thanks again..

Just wanted to say thanks again for the Get to the Beach advice. Have been there since yesterday afternoon and my SK is almost 94. Experience has slowed down quite a bit since turning 91 or so, so will probably move on another area soon. Just need to do a bit more research and find another good spot that will take me to 100.
