Problem - Possible cause of windows closing?

Note: I am not a programmer nor I am trying to pretend one.

So I have been experiencing this issue with EQ windows closing lately. I noticed it happens most often when I am on powerline (LAN over electric sockets) connection, and very rarely happen when I am on 3X3 wifi connection. I am suspecting the closed window/crash was due to the aged (100+ years) electric wiring, thus packet loss, in my house.

Could any technical person confirm this?

100+ years

100+ years

Most likely, powerline connections when they works are awesome when they don't it sucks and then you have the case of mostly working that drives you nuts. You could have a slightly loose connection on the distribution board / plugs, I don't recommend that you go and fiddle with it. 100years back no real clue what was used either.
If you want to confirm the hypothesis run a very long network cable between the wifi and your computer, ugly but would confirm one way or another.

/looks at own house wiring that is 40+ years, no need to panic /panics

From your powerline connection try opening up a command prompt (Windows key + start typing command), then typing: ping -t www.google.com

Do you see the time value jumping up and down a lot? (Or even worse are you not receiving a reply frequently)?

65ms variance looks out of line.
Would consider 5ms variance acceptable, my ping is a consistent 26/27 ms
Well, my house was built in the Victorian period, guess I'll not touch the wiring.

Well, it also depends how often that's changing for you. Eg, 10 15 12 13 75 10 15 13 20 is different from 10 75 10 75 10 75 10 75. In either case, 65ms variance absolutely should not cause the game to crash. I'd keep the ping test running while you play the game, and when a window closes on you look over and see if the connection did anything - eg if suddenly you had 'no reply no reply no reply' then you lost connection. If it keeps having the same results both before and then at the time as your game crashing then it probably isn't the connection.
