Hey folks,

I am throwing this out to the community who may know a thing or two about a thing or two.

Does anyone have a compiled list, or know how to generate one, of all zones (shortname is okay) and the threshold at which they spawn a new pickzone? Is there maybe a variable or TLO that may touch on it, running an echo command while in the zone, for instance?
https://docs.macroquest.org/reference/top-level-objects/tlo-zone/ has some information on zones, but not what I am specifically looking for.
 
It's different for every zone. You'd have to go zone by zone and add characters one at a time until a new pick spawned. Pretty sure that's all handled on the server with no information being sent to the client.
 
It's a calculation handled server-side, based on the number of killable NPCs in a zone vs players in a zone. The ratio threshold varies for each zone, as the number of killable NPCs per zone differs. This information is not shared with the client, therefore not detectable by MQ, and no TLO has it.

It is not calculated, its a fixed number set by the devs when they build out the zones (opinions are asked in beta), its is not published per se, but you can actually ask on official EQ forums and highly likely the devs will tell you for the zone you ask... They have also been known to adjust it due to player feedback/events requiring less players (dont want 6 groups hunting for 3 ground spawns)

@BlankStare be advised pickzones are watched very carefully for afk/bot. It’s a high certainty that if you spawn a public pick and grind inthe open you’ll get afk checks from GM’s.

3 of the most policed ones are Charasid, Howling Stones (EOK) and GD (the velious 3.0 one..and Velks)

Not a certain but high probability of getting a /say check from GM or to get yourself a front-row ticket to the next ban-wave.

Its safer to use quest instances to grind

Its usually 19-25 to spawn open picks but varies. Derived from the 6xVariable+1

My experience in TOB has been about 19 for Gilded Spire, but thats the main one I have tried to spawn it in. I think in LS Laurions Inn, it was similar also, but that has been a while since I did that one. I normally keep zoning toons in until it becomes available.

@durango773 Just saying. Woebot is more likely to visit if you start spawning open picks zones. That has been my experience.

You don’t believe me? Go check out Providers pwlvl bots that run for a fewdays in Charasis 24/7 or GD. pwlvling armies and others farming krono, plat, and spell drops in main room. Dudes got it down to a rotation with 3-4 instances going. Woebot slips by bans his ass…and a week later a brand new army is at it again.

Funny as hell when you see some crybaby player crying to mama because his toon that was being pwlvl’d got banhammered out for afk mooching of a bot player….wa wa wa…my acct…my krono….waaaaaa!

So, I already understand that it varies by zone, and is manually set by the development team. I know how that part all works.
I was interested in knowing if anyone had a list of "how many in XYZ zone" or if there was a way to find it with some sort of back-end zone details query.

I am also more curious about older zones, not current ones. The zones that are less traveled and require a significant investment to bring characters to, which would spawn a new pick.
