Request - Petition to bring MQ2 back to Phinigel

Honestly my subscription to RG is expiring, and there's nothing of value here for me. SEQ is not a RG product. I understand folks got banned, I say good...they clearly abused it, let them get banned. Those of us who are responsible users shouldn't be equally punished. There's other tools out there they could abuse also.

Perhaps consider adding another subscription tier, this would alleviate some of the potential abuse by shrinking the pool of players who have access. Also, something that requires a login with a fixed number of sessions allowed that can run MQ2?

Lastly, if you don't play on Phinigel, save the shit posts. Lets have a constructive thread here.

Edit- thought of something going wild with the idea of auth wrapped around the MQ2 True Box, with session privileges. This could easily fund the development of MQ2True, and prevent folks from running 30 sessions. Tie the subscription tier to the session allotment, something like:

Sessions:
1: $10/month (each)
2: $9/month (each)
3: $8/month (each)
4: $7/month (each)
5+: Not available

Opinion: Phinigel players are drama queens and if you piss them off they're gonna start going after those of us on regular servers. It's just something to keep in mind.

MQ2 is bigger than Phinny, and this affects ALL of the MQ2 community. Like it or not, any and all drama trickles into ALL servers. MQ2 had an agreement with DBG, period, why do we continue to push the boundary? Are we children?

Constructively, why do you want a MQ2 on the one server where there is an unspoken agreement not to use it? Why not play on the servers where it is easy to use MQ2?

The little functionality that Truebox version brought was not worth the agitation and drama that came with it.

I TrueBoxed 6 accounts with 6 computers before MQ in early 2000s and it was not that bad. With modern EQ macro binds you can do the same much easier.

The big isssue is that even real honest boxers are looked down on Phinny so if MQ2 is brought back everyone boxing will be labeled an MQ user there and again massive heartaches for everyone will follow.

If they had another instanced TLP, this would be an option...but they don't.

Very happy with the current lack of negative attention that MQ is receiving on servers. Definitely do not want more oversight. Phinny has a very cool set of rules, but the server is what it is and should be left alone. Maybe they will make another instanced TLP in the future, but for now you don't get to both have cake and eat cake.

This is very true. So you get to pick between instanced raids or MQ for now. In a couple of years of progression on RF/LJ, everything worthwhile is instanced anyways.

This. People knew the ruleset and it was even announced that there was an agreement in place for no MQ support. If you want MQ, play another server. If the instanced raids are so amazing, then stay on Phini and don't use MQ.

My style of play is so far behind the curve, I very rarely get bothered by any drama about mq2. Still no reason at all to push our luck. Let them have one server free as long as they give us the nod on all the other servers. Life is full of choices, play on Phinigel or play with mq2 on any other server. I support EQmule, no mq2 on Phinigel.

I don't have the time to dedicate to a legit group on Phinny, so I stay away from the TLP space.

I agree with Maskoi just leave that server alone. Play on Live or one of the other TLP's. Everything will be instanced from PoP on anyhow. If you are wanting to play Phinny due to the amount of other people then play a single toon or use more than one PC. I played on there till 45 on my wiz, it was cool nostalgia but I ended up going back to Live.

Nothing screams like idiot then someone missing the chat window for the commands. The other one im assuming because he was training then instacamping and warping. I miss MQ very much, but I did get some amazing deals on some very high end laptops. With MQ I wouldve never looked! A month old alienware, i7 980GTX for $400

Phinny has the largest concentration of dramaqueens, feeding them is the dumbest thing our community can do.
Does not matter if a higher % of people would be using or accepting of MQ2, the squeaky wheel gets the cheese.

The risk is not logical. Those saying otherwise should consider if they are being selfish.

I would love to play on phinny because of instance raids, that is the only reason.
If RF/LJ had instancing I doubt population would be as skewed to Phinny, sure it would probably have largest pop in the short term but I imagine RF/LJ would have a combined higher pop long term.

In my mind the reason Phini is popular is because of an avalanche effect of many different types of players. You have players who will jump on any new progression server. You have players who like to play without seeing automated 6-bot groups in all the "unpopular" zones. You have players that want that classic feel again (previous TLP servers have a lot of newer options enabled of the get go). This server was also the first to accommodate a very large server base via instance.

I believe that the success of the server (success being large player base) is because of all of these reasons and once you take away one of them the population (success) will rapidly decline. Bringing MQ2 to phini would provide a large short term advantage yes, but then the server would decline to normal server populations afterward. My thinking is the only players who want MQ2 on phini are those wanting that short advantage where as the majority are in it for the long run.

If players like the above only cared about having classic raid zones to themselves they could easily make a low level group on the normal servers.

The only issue with this statement is many of the low level classic raid zones are still farmed by high level characters for unique/useful items, or for fun twinking sake. I have a level 1 SK that's sitting around in as much twinky, no level requirement gear that I could get for him. He's a hoss. To accomplish this, I had to perma-farm a bunch of mobs that other people already had on perma-farm, so there was a lot of luck involved.

Now, if DBG ever pushed the zone/raid instancing for classic stuff from phinny to live... it would be open season and totally fantastic.

When I can, I like to use MQ2 on other servers to just enjoy the game and do what I want to do, not impeding anyone else in the process. It's the only reason I still play EQ from time to time.
