Question - Performance is now complete crap!

Was going to say I am not using MQ2CPULoad and have not noticed any issues with MQ2, for example running 16 on i5-2400 with 16GB RAM no problem.

That said, servers are still unstable as hell but that is Daybreak's lack of sysadmin.

They probably have no one minding the servers, they just have the cleaning lady restart the servers and that's about it.

I don't believe I use MQ2CPULoad, either, and I also have not noticed any significant changes. I DO use MQ2Spawnmaster, but again, I haven't noticed anything.

I think to start I should have not called this LAG, it is NOT lag! it is the instance of a particular EQ client momentarily stopping or stalling or becoming unresponsive to the system. So NOT lag so much as "not responding"

Just a note: I see that...Stutter/halt/freeze, anytime I open the in-game email with MQ2 running.
I DO use MQ2cpuload.

Raz-- I run MQ2SpawnMaster, but I have never run Mq2CpuLoad, so for me that's not the answer.

this is why we are all comparing notes, Maskoi and I worked on the for HOURS and HOURS over the last couple of days.... It is something, we are just not sure what....

The lag I see is usually from the game. The main issue I'm having is that the toons are not exiting the combat routine very quickly. If I type /switch they all go back to work. But after a mob is dead, there is about 3-5 seconds before they show the DPS meter.

That said, with the speed of your kills Raz, maybe it's this that is causing you an issue? Mind you, I've only had this with EOKNuke and Kiss lately.

This is what I experience. I just recently started using the CPU plugin and can't tell you if it was there before and can't remember if this was there before that plugin. I'll try unloading it and see if it makes a difference.

eqgeek-- Your idea might be one of several aspects of the freezing problem or whatever we are calling it. It might be several things. I do see what you are seeing with battle, but the UI of the game itself is not unresponsive in those instances for me. Are they for you?

For me (and this is about I have camped to character select screen then log back in), the game UI becomes strangely unresponsive.

I discovered it because I had set some of my chars to camp in case they died and I was (ahem) afk slightly. Often I would only be away a few minutes and I came back and logged back in to get everyone back to camp and alive. The characters that camped to log in screen or character select would ALWAYS be screwed up somehow. If I tried to just start all the scripts again and get them going, those characters would be working strangely and the group would likely wipe to the next pull. Inevitably, the CRASH/DEBUG/Alert DBG grey popup appears.

For me the only way to "fix" it was to camp that character to desktop and restart them. Everything would work fine for me then.

The latter is all (for me) separate from the sluggishness of KA. EOKnuke for me is not sluggish per se, because EOKnuke triggers (for me) off the KA MainAssist. So if KA is sluggish, EOKnuke starting is sluggish.

Sounds like a different issue to me then. I was having problems with the game locking up completely but a fresh install of MQ fixed everything.

One thing you can try is to delete / remake the Mq2Melee files on the toons that crash. Even if you don't have anything in them.... Sometimes when the game crashed, it seems that the MQ folder or a few files inside get corrupted.

EQgeek to the rescue!

I've been doing the TLP thing with no issues, but recently on live I did start to develop stutter lag. It seemed to coincide with adding holy and down flags to my characters. Specifically the SHD and BST ones from Emerica.

So getting rid of mq2cpu load helped a lot, but it didn't get rid of all my problems. However, after speaking with a few other folks I moved back to the 12152016 compile and it seems to have gotten rid of most of my remaining issues.

Been working with the "guys" all week and most of the lag is now gone, The next update to the core of MQ will fix SO much stuff! I am humbled at the awesomeness of the talent involved!

about once a year I do that, move my macros off, move my melee files off and reinstall.... then copy and past the DATA only back into the files so they are fresh

Well a preemptive thanks to all those involved in improving this amazing engine that allows me to enjoy EQ still.

The main problem was the compile. Download the new one and you should see a lot of this is better.

what fixed the lag is i deleted eqclient.ini file from my eq folder *well in my case i copied my live version over to my test one* and it all went away, I do this from time to time and it fixes the horrible lag.

I have 24 gigs of ram, GTX 1070 and a I7 OC'ed to 5 ghz and a 300 meg internet connection . no reason i should be lagging anywhere in this game with 1 instance. before doing that I would lag horribly, now after I do that I can run around anywhere with 10-18 characters up with no lag what so ever.

I also find what causes this is when I go into the options editor to change some settings, if I leave those alone after doing this I wont get lag at all.. If i touch those settings at all i cant even load in 1 instance without sitting at 8 fps generally for 1 instance.

update this also happens when I go into the settings in game and change the graphics around as well. Tried to turn off LOD and all spell densities and even in the advance tab turned off some stuff and it lagged me to all hell after i loaded in a new character. logged out re did the eqclient.ini and it went away.

Ok so I went through and tested all the graphic settings in the options menu in game. I tried every combination and found that if I uncheck *allow hw Vertex shaders* it causes a ton of lag, even if everything else is on.. I now have everything else off and the second I uncheck that and log back in its instant 5 fps.. im sitting at 135 fps in the lobby with 30 people next to me.

I dont know if anyone else has had that issue but you are more than welcome to test this as well.. its worked for me
