Hey everyone new to MQ2 looking to get an understanding of how things work before the new TLP drops. I've watched the red guide videos some other set up content from various creators.

What's your number one "Don't forget to..." Tip for a new user? I have boxed manually in the past and I just don't have the desktop space so I'm going to check out very vanilla over the next little while excited to play around.

Unfortunately that is a tall ask - because eq is a big game, and by extension mq is further comlicated.

The best piece of advice i could give you is be patient with yourself - you'll have "tiers of success". things can be really frustrating when you start figuring out *what you dont know* and it feels as an unfair layer to already feeling lost and helpless.

other tips:
- join the RG discord
- be willing to *hear* (not necessarily accept, but at least hear) that maybe the ways you do things, or things you "prefer" might not be the way folks might otherwise suggest - mq and just the age of eq has changed a lot of things that "used by be"
- remember you're playing eq to have fun, if it starts being unfun take a break

The RG community is fantastic. Don't be afraid to roll up 6 chars, then another 6, and another 6 to mix and match. There is no wrong way to enjoy EQ with Redguides. You will never experience EQ the same way again. Welcome!

Start on test server cause MQ doesn't work on TLP

How can you not have the desktop space, unless you mean the top of your desk is messy. EQ runs on specs of lint and takes up no space really. I mean some players are still running Win 7 so you know they have less space

I became a long-haul truck driver about 5 years ago so my gaming space is now a single laptop that is usually very bouncy.

Welcome Mike. Redguides is great man. Still a lot of daily interaction and new information.

Probably the best tip I can give is to check out Sic's signature and watch all of the "Other Videos:" as a start.

Also, if you're planning on starting on the upcoming TLPs, and they are going to be true box (I don't know not my type of servers), then MQ won't be supported. At least until they drop the true box.
