Guide - NOS "When One Door Closes" - Shadow Haven mission

- Quest starts in Ruins of Shadow Haven from Animist Khalan. Just say "small" to get the mission. REQUIRES Shadow Haven partisan quests completed as of 12/15/2022.

- Zone in, say the phrase to the npc to trigger the mission - the giant door turns into a blob that rushes to you. Kill it.

- This is not a DPS race. If you want to play it safe, just bring a second healer (merc healer will suffice).

- Blob transforms into a bunch of different forms. None of them do anything really scary except for...

-AVOID THE RED AURA! It spawns under a random player in your group (merc included). Just run to the other side of the room (can keep toons on chase which makes this easy).
At first, you may get hit by it and think no big deal, barely any damage. But there is some mechanic at play I don't fully understand, and what happens if you just plow through it, around 10%
the boss will mass spam emotes/abilities and instant wipe your party. All I know, once I started to avoid the aura, this "wipe" mechanic never happened again.

- Your toons (mainly healer) will get "knocked back" a bunch. Make sure they are positioned properly.

- Kill the swirling adds that come during the fight. They die pretty easily. If the boss is at like <15% or so, just burn him down instead.

- CURE the swirling adds in order to insta-kill them and get the achievement. I think just 2 casts of the cleric cure does the trick.

-...and then you just kinda win. Boss doesn't hit particularly hard. The only remotely scary parts are moving the boss out of the red aura when there is 1 add up, but that is pretty trivial.

- There is some other mechanic with invisible stuff which is mentioned in the achievement, I don't know.

Bottom line - This is a cakewalk and definitely the "shei" mission of NoS, except much easier. Good luck grinding those augs (and having the evolving cloak drop). Also, if your DPS is high enough, you might be able to just burn from the start and ignore all mechanics.

Ugh...Can't get the "No Poke" achievement for the life of me. That stun + being summoned back when trying to move keeps screwing me.

If you are not the tank, try to position your char in a manner, that you don't see the tank. If priest or caster, turn the back to tank. That shall prevent from beeing hit with stun.

When the boss is about to hit 10% hp, you can pre-trigger his summon, which gives you a few seconds of kiting if that helps.

I drive with my SK and have the rest of my team in chase mode.

I'll try that, but I think I was getting stunned before so once it wore off, it was a race trying to get out of the orange.

Just click your trinket or roll a human and use "Every Man for Himself" to remove all cc.
 
I'll say it again. You can get the "No Poke" achievement by just pulling the group out of the swirly AoE. Yes, sometimes toons are rooted. Most of the though you can make it work though. The platform way is just buggy.
 
I still haven't figured that Lua stuff out, so in order to get "Hiding in Plain Sight" achievement while using KissAssist I did it old school...

1. Made sure my shammy had his cure corruption spell loaded.
2. Created the following MQ2Event for him:

4. Waited to see that I cured 2 of the Whirling Debris.
5. Used /backoff off for all chars and dropped the boss.

Healers/casters can also have the back towards the Boss to avoid the Stun. This is fantastic with pet tank with toons casting fireballs out of their a$$es P
 
I am having problems wiht no poke also. I undertand about slowing down the dps so as to not have the stun when the crab spawns. I use chase. I am watching carefully and move when called, but one toon or the other seems to get hung up with the mob. Could they be mid cast and finishing or something? I just can not get the boxed toons to immediately follow.
 
On the No Poke, set your tank in manual and drag the mob out of the red aura. DPS away, just don't let any toons stay in the red aura even after it dies.
 
I am dragging it out successfully, the problem is that some toons hang back and don't move immediately.
 
BIG drags, like across the room and they'll come. Hope it works! The stun will screw some attempts up, but promise big drags and it'll work!
 
What @Tebus said. I will throw in, that ill normally start by dragging off to one side, so when its time to run, i can drag that sucker FAR. :f5:
 
Even with chase on, try spamming Come To Me just to force them to MOVE NOW!

6. The " /g Curing! " doesn't even fire in group chat window.
7. When I copy paste the command line in any chat window, every thing fires just fine.
Just doesn't seem to fire when I copy past Trigger in any chat window. However GINA fires off just fine
when I type the trigger line in any chat window.

Just did /event load and /event list.

Now event shows up on list. will have to wait for task timers to get mission again and retry. If that is all it was I am so sorry to impose my ignorance on you guys.

If some one has a working and tested LEM that would be great also.

But would like to know why the trigger is not firing the command.

Still not firing after I did /event load and checked /event list to make sure it was actually there?




Fixed problem ..... must be smarter than the equipment you operate!

1. /Event load - loaded event but did not make it actually work.

2. Unloading and reloading plugin MQ2Events actually made it work ..... doh

3. I assumed /event load was all that was needed to use a new event?

4. Would still like to see a working LEM :)

We finished this mission in like a minute. I brought the DPS and I think we killed it faster than the group leader anticipated with a Mage Necro and Beastlord.
