Question - Non-prestige gearing paths?

So I've been working up my team for a month and a half now slowly, no massive PL'n or anything and I'm having some struggles with gearing them up as I go. I started to do the missions out of the Ehteren Karana zone with them thinking using Marks to buy gear would be the amazing path to take. After completing a few missions, I looked closer at the merchant lists and realized all the gear is "Prestige" which won't help a F2P account one bit. I keep a pay account on my primary character that I also use as the tank although he's not a typical tank class and the other 5 members are all F2P. I bought baz gear originally when I started at the 85's they were when I came back plus two that were heroic purchase. They are now in the 90's and of course gearing continues now to keep up with the zones i'm moving about in. Do you guys have a path you use to gear up teams or do you have yourselves so established already that you just purchase their gear as needed because you PL'd them with other accounts?

Being in the 90's, I went to Argoth figuring that would be the next step however I found that I can't tank that shit very well currently and going to need to at least gear up the tank some baz wise now. What are your thoughts? I looked through strategies and really don't see a guide or suggested path to gear up toons. If all accounts were gold status, the missions are absolutely the way to go.

the T1 CotF is non prestig. You can still gear up decently using the marks just for armor the T1 gear (like the "Crystallied Essence" charm whose powered by class specific armor) I think CotF is where FTP access stops, not sure... not having taken one that far. You may need to bazaar or take gold toons into TDS/TBM for drop loots after that. Otherwise there is always just named hunting as well.

Most T1 is non-prestige honestly, if you don't have TBM, just get the current expansion's T1 stuff (which you can get by doing CotF HA currency)

I was suggested to do gear in the following order but seems I'm always gearing below level to pull it off which may just be how it is.

Rustic Stole of Argoth

Fear Touched

Latent Ether

Castaway

My tank is mostly Rustic in key armor slots now and then 1-1.5k hps gear in most of the other slots. He's not happy tanking blue cons in Argoth at lvl 91. :/

Depending on what you already have:

Hero's level gear from buried sea while getting the Jonas Dagmire's Skeletal Hand aug is good start hps/mana in the 400's range then

Paragon's level gear while getting the Bayle's Heraldic Crest in Seeds of destruction expansion hps/mana 900's range

after that house of thule is the next area I go to, and it's where I still am as my group is only barely in their 90's

You've got VoA gear at VoA levels, which is just about what you would expect. At 92, you can start getting RoF gear which is a pretty significant upgrade and I would do it if you don't want to do the TBM route (the currency is tradeable!). The only problem is then you have 8 levels (100) before you can start wearing latent armor from CotF without any non-prestige in between and that can be a pretty significant detriment if you want to do current content. If you just want them to level, go AFK (with KA) in an easy zone with a mix of light and dark blues with fear touched and don't worry about gear until you are 100, then grab castaway (skip latent if you have TDS, they are both level 100).

I have done writeup after writeup on FTP non prestige gear, basically Castaway and Fused weapons.... and do TDS Missions for the non vis non prestige gear...

Yup, he is 100% correct, or in my case leave em nekid as I level them to 105 in about 4 days anyway

If castaway helm and boots are rare on your server, use latent, its about 10% less stats

nice thank you, was looking at gearing boxes till i can do RoF raid named and gear them all that way, have one decent warrior the other warrior has old outdated rustic. sk is in voa t1 raid, 2 clerics, one in CoTF gear with tds weapon, other is lvl 88 in rustic. 2 rogues each have one raid dagger from RoF and one in CoTF gear and the other in boreal. 2 zerkers one raid geared CoTF other is lvl 92 with boreal. 1 wizzy in boreal, one chanter in CoTF. mage in boreal with CoTF grp pet ear. monk in CoTF gear. thinking that if im gonna be boxing raids thinking about using more casters.......thinking maybe 48 wizzies and a druid in each grp with a warrior or 2? lol maybe raz will chime in on that one.

The loading screen is bugged and has been for a while it shows 19/22 on FTP but i can confirm that everyone gets 20/22 for free. That means CoTF is free.
