Re: Pets equipping no trade gear
I did some more testing so you don't have to hand your items in fear to a Lv 1 orc pawn and see them get eaten:
--You can hand in as many items as you want (I didn't try more than 3 at a time just in case the mobs have a limit on how many items they can hold - if they're like normal pets, there is no limit but I really don't wanna test that)
--You can only hand in ONE item for each slot at a time. IE. You cannot give a charmed mob two illusion masks or two raid bracers at once; if you try - the mob will simply reject the second item and you get it back on your cursor. This is identical to how the code works on normal summoned pets.
--Newbie zone mobs are great for this method. However, if you are trying to transfer weapons, the mob's inherent class/level somewhat dictates what it will take. Ex. A drake in GFay will not take Monk H2H (Arx Mentis T3) or a Caster crude defiant club (Rec. Lv 10). However, a bee standing 10 ft from it will take both at once (and you get both back). I do not know enough about pet weapon rules to determine what the code actually is but like Shadetree said earlier, try a different level mob OR I recommend trying a different *type* of mob altogether if you're having issues. I also tested this with some 2HB weapons. Again, the drake in my earlier example would not take a 2HB at all but a wolf next to it would.
--The item *must* have an equippable slot tag. You cannot transfer quest items, raid currency, or any other item that does not fit in *some* slot. This follows the new, normal pet rules unfortunately.
--You *can* hand an augment that is not in a piece of gear to the mob. I tested this by handing a Frozen Orb of the Fabled King to a wolf; he accepted the aug without being in an item and I was able to recover it. However, after more testing... like weapons... it seems that some mobs will, and some won't, take it.
--You *can* hand ornaments to a mob straight up. However, you cannot hand in epic augments (from An Epic Request). Perhaps if you found a mob of the exact class, but I didn't care enough to run around looking for Enchanter mobs.
--And despite the in-game warning about it being destroyed, I still have not had a single transfer eat an augment if it was already in an item.
Hopefully this will answer some questions and prevent others from wasting too much time.
