It's a viral exploit by nature in that it involves trading with others. Hard to keep these types quiet.

Also everyone needs to give some "thanks" to those who figured this out!

I tried this last night and it does indeed work. I tried trading a Captured Essence (Rk3 Spell CotF) to a charmed mob but it gave it right back so quest items do not work. I know someone said quest items wouldn't work, just confirming it.

I'm going to have a huge LOL if the patch tomorrow does *not* fix this :p It probably will though since the message says "Surprise patch tomorrow! There's an in-game issue we need to fix so we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity and address a couple of other things, namely a few improvements to experience gains.... "

Not that anyone should be surprised, but just confirming - this is now fixed as of the patch this morning. Tested weapons, gear, augs, etc. You just get it returned like previously.

Was fun while it lasted.

Yes this was patched and fixed. Fix was already put on test server and released.

I was just wondering about any backlash from this exploit. Did anyone have their items removed or get a ban? I was too chicken to try it all with even my throw away accounts.

None of the 4 or so accounts I used this on had any type of backlash- no ban/no rollback/nothing. Also, all of the people I personally know of who did it didn't have any issues (or at least didn't say so). It was awesome while it lasted. I think it was just way too widespread for them to take any sort of action.

I traded about 20 visables with augs included of raid gear to my alt accounts and a few friends wth no problems so far <knocks on wood>.

There there was a lot of toons being stripped. Friend got his raid toon stripped clean with all of his raid gear and some of his alts who had some raid pieces. I'm guessing anyone who had access to a previous raid toon if there wasnt theirs or inactive/leave they got stripped clean.

Lol i'm referring not to theft, but literally handmedowns from a real life buddy. I'm sure he had a nice 2h in the bank he never uses anymore he'd of been happy to let go :P

But I found out too late anyway.

I'm sure there are other ways to trade no-drop still, but surely they would be a tightly kept secret, and also likely involving active hacks which is just too damn risky.
