I strongly feel that the following code does, but shouldn't, spam when "ReportLoot" is FALSE.
It also doesn't, but should, honor the "LootChannel" setting.

Rich (BB code):
Sub Event_UnwantedLoot(S0,S1)
	/if (${Group.MasterLooter.ID}==${Me.ID}) {
		/echo NINJADVLOOT: no one wants >${S1}< leaving ${AdvLoot.SList[1].Name} on corpse
		/gsay NINJADVLOOT: no one wants >${S1}< leaving ${AdvLoot.SList[1].Name} on corpse
		/delay 3s !${AdvLoot.LootInProgress}
		/advloot shared 1 leave
		/delay 3s !${AdvLoot.LootInProgress}
		/if (${LootLagDelay}) /delay ${LootLagDelay}
	}
/return

Sub Event_LockedLoot
	/echo NINJADVLOOT: Loot item is locked, leave it...
	/gsay NINJADVLOOT: Loot item is locked, leave it...
		/doevents flush LockedLoot
		/delay 3s !${AdvLoot.LootInProgress}
		/advloot personal 1 leave
		/delay 3s !${AdvLoot.LootInProgress}
		/if (${LootLagDelay}) /delay ${LootLagDelay}
/return

I commented those lines out. It was spamming group chat with NINJADVLOOT which will end up showing up server side in logs...
Even though I had ReportLoot FALSE and LootChannel set to "bc".

I never saw this behavior before so I expect it's new.

EDIT: it might be old behavior i guess. I just started using the new Quest functionality which is amazing. So instead of vacuuming up everything now I'm leaving some stuff behind. Could have been that change in my behavior that made me notice this stuff.

The /gsay was used for troubleshooting. I forgot when I uploaded the first file, It has been removed.

The lootchannel was not something I messed with. Everything is sent to the MQ2 window using /echo

Loot spam was still irritating me so I made some more changes:

Always spams:
1. any changes to the loot.ini file
2. selection/changes in Group MasterLooter
3. problems that cause looting to fail, such as full inventory or the lack of a Group MasterLooter

SpamLootInfo=1 spams:
1. The process and disposition of loot items by the Group MasterLooter
2. when group members select need/greed/no

All spam is sent to the MQ2 chat window.

Hello, for some reason the Ninjadvloot does not seem to be destroying items as I would expect. Here is my loot.ini file, any ideas?

Thanks,

Note: For users that are running a mac that embeds the INC file (aka KA), it is best to issue commands to alter the ini rather than to manually edit it as making a mistake can have... aberrant results:
[/code]

WTF is aberrant... .a cross between a bear and a f$%&ing ANT !!!!!
Who was pitching and who was catching? Was a bear doing an ant or was the ant all up in the bears bitness. What kind of pillow talk can POssibly take place here....
I dunno........

Playbetter

Rename the loot.ini to OLDloot.ini to preserve your data and you can always go back to using it
Resume play...
Once a new loot.ini is created
. copy the old data, not the header info just from [Global] to the bottom
. paste OVER the new files data, [Global] to the bottom

Target mobs that drop "destroy" items
Resume play
After a while check inventory

If it is still keeping them change the "destroy" to "ignore". Monitor your toon to see if it will ignore.

Just some trouble shooting ideas.... you may have already tried them but a RG reader may be able to use the information.....

As always,
Playbetter

The loot.ini file looks good.
Possible issues:
1. in-game advloot filters
a. the "Loot All" function is on, advloot window
b. item is filtered to "always need" or "always greed"

2. more then one .ini file for looting? I do this and occasional find myself looking at the wrong file.

Best guess is the in-game system... It is much faster then the macro and can interfere in strange ways.

recommendations:
1. check your advance loot setting and filters for the in-game system.
2. download the lastest ninjadvloot here... the version was reset to 6.01 for the official compile release.
3. watch the spam... it should tell you what it is doing with each item. I would also turn on logging with MQ2Log (/mlog on) for a record you can search easier then the live window scrolling.

I run lootall on my non looter toons (Looter is stacked with big bags, so they are only getting duplicate lore items). The downside to making sure things are looted is in fact don't delete items off your delete list.
It's the cost of making sure they loot I guess :) The instructions call out filters & lootall, so use at your own risk... this is a risk

This version didn't make it into the 9/21 compile, my fault. Please use the one in this thread until the next Very Vanilla release.

Not entirely your fault... I had been meaning to PM this version to you, RL happened and I didn't get it done in time.

Necro was dead while I finished killing the train.

When I killed each mob, for each item it dropped, the necro says in group chat, "NINJADVLOOT: Loot item is locked, leave it..."

Luckily, I have no friends so it was just my toons in group. :)

- - - Updated - - -

AND!

Even though he wasn't the looter or the leader or anything... it left everything on the corpses.

I HAD TO MANUALLY LOOT 2 DIAMONDS AND A BLUE DIAMOND!!!!!

The oddest thing, is the looter/leader didn't have any macros running... I was just letting the ingame advanced loot system do its' thing.

Say is his default channel

There is an event in Ninja that sends a msg to both MQ2Win and GSay:
Rich (BB code):
Sub Event_LockedLoot
	/echo NINJADVLOOT: Loot item is locked, leave it...
	/gsay NINJADVLOOT: Loot item is locked, leave it...

It is fired via:
Rich (BB code):
#Event LockedLoot		"#*#These item(s) are locked#*#"

Now why it would fire when no mac was running I am not sure. I have noticed, that sellstuff.mac doesn't end itself, and if I forget to turn it off, I will get the full functionality of Ninja and scratch my head as to why until I notice sellstuff is still is running. So, perhaps you aren't running a major mac, but inadvertently left a minor one running that happens to have the Ninja include...

- - - Updated - - -

The more I think about it, this is odd, since IF Ninja WAS running, it would have looted for you, so its safe to assume Ninja was not 'included'. Why it fired an event... is odd. Hoosier?

I'm thinking alias, but even there it doesn't fit.

Hell you are lucky you didn't get something like:
Rich (BB code):
/shout Hi! I am a botter, and I use Macroquest!!! mwuahaha

I had this happen to me the other day as well, and I always use Advanced loot... Is there any way to remove Ninja completely? Since I don't use it

He addressed this. He was using it to find bugs(the group chat), the new version that doesn't broadcast to group, only to EQBC is available but unfortunately it was overlooked in the compile and you manually have to add it yourself if you have level 2 access.

The version that used groupsay was for my troubleshooting. I made a mistake and released the wrong copy once. The latest and best copy is here.

The locked item event is only triggered IF the item is in your personal list and locked. The in-game system must have placed the item in the dead necro's personal list, being dead he was unable to loot the item without first clicking on the corpse. This sets up an endless loop of attempting to loot a locked item, the workaround is to ignore the item (leaving it on the corpse) you are unable to loot. The behavior described is correct and proper. It really sucks if your tank or healer get stuck in an endless loop attempting to loot a locked item. BTW the same thing will happen if your master looter or the group member is too far away from the kill.

It is always a bad idea to let your toons die. :) Mine do it almost everyday, sigh.

I had this happen to me the other day as well, and I always use Advanced loot... Is there any way to remove Ninja completely? Since I don't use it

In you primary macro (kissassist or whatever) find the line
Rich (BB code):
#include ninjadvloot.inc
and change it to
Rich (BB code):
|#include ninjadvloot.inc
or simple remove the line from your macro completely.

So I stopped playing live servers long ago and when I came back advloot was in the game and I got fairly accustomed to using it, so when I started using mq, I never bothered with ninja...is there anything I'm missing out on?

That sounded like you are too lazy to read the feature list. However, since you don't normally post like that, I will answer as if you had asked:

Q: Why do you guys use Ninja, what am I missing?
A: As always, it depends on how you play. If you are in a grinding situation where there are a lot of mobs, lots of fast-firing loot, it is invaluable. When I am mass killing a constant XTar+ camp it is counter-productive to have to deal with loot. Moreso regarding the passing out of lore items, quest items, and dealing with the ML running outa bag space.

I have recently taken to turning on forage for all toons so I don't have to deal with food and water. Some of the toons have pretty high forage skills and its a major pita to deal with. Ninja handles it wonderfully. With the new Q|## feature, I can have it save X num of roots and delete the rest as it comes in.

When doing Temple(B) runs I don't have to manually pass out the drops for prelooting the next run, Ninja automatically hands them out as they come in to grp mems that don't have them. Its one less thing I have to stop and deal with. I like to play as an assembly line, a production line, and anything that makes me stop to deal with it goes against my SOP.

Its fast. If a single fight (grinding) lasts 10-20 seconds, you can spend that amount of time dealing with loot thus cutting your production down 50%.

I remember back when I was triple camping the island in Morell's. Loot was a bloody nightmare. It came fast and furious. There were tons of lore items I wanted to keep but it took hella time figuring out who in the grp already had the item. EVEN if I had taken the time to build a hotkey using a combination of EQBC and the FIND function it would cut production 50% or more. And, I woulda had to be there to do it. Ninja makes semi-attended play possible.

Read the feature list. I don't leave home without Ninja.

Here's MY million dollar question...how well does this distribute loot in a RAID type scenario?

Wait, do you get a million dollars for asking, or do I get a million dollars for answering... I've always been fuzzy on the million dollar question thing...

thanks incog...i was at work and just browsing forums on my phone while taking a shit, lol. And ive read the feature list before, but nothing really jumped out at me than and still doesnt after reading your post now. I still don't see the point in this over advloot feature that is already in the game. Maybe that's bc im on TLP and there isnt really a ton of stuff that i'm keeping off corpses.

Wait, do you get a million dollars for asking, or do I get a million dollars for answering... I've always been fuzzy on the million dollar question thing...

It would be the question asked that if I like the answer I'd probably start using said item, and if functionality is appropriate for me, I'd be willing to donate to keep it functioning.

Here's MY million dollar question...how well does this distribute loot in a RAID type scenario?

mmm, haven't actually tried it in Raid, I suspect it act poorly as it looks for group master looter not raid master looter. I already have some better ideas for picking the master looter when bags get full so maybe adding raid feature wouldn't be too hard at that time. Real life is kicking at the moment, but when things settle down a bit...

I started the process of improving ninjadvloot while doing quests. It's a PITA to keep check of who has what quest item, ninjadvloot now automates that for me. All of the other features were added because of community feedback. If the in-game system is working for you, there is probable no reason to change. I firmly believe go with what works for you, regardless of whether or not it works for the next person.

So slight issue on LORE items. Droppable LORE items that are in the shared bank get skipped. Not a huge deal, but you have to make sure to parcel lore items to alts rather than just sticking them in the shared bank.

trying to find the time to research lore items in shared bank... seems like should be able to detect what slot the item is in and exclude items in share bank, maybe.

anyone happen to know macro code for finditembank.slot? and which slots are shared bank vs personal bank?

It's sort of a two-fold problem -

1 - master looter passes item and sends it to first group member
2 - appears in personal loot list of group member, but then they leave it on the corpse thinking they have one.

So one easy fix to me is to remove that bank check for lore items in personal list as the item can't technically make it to the personal list if they already have one. That at least gets 5 of 6 members looting.

Removing the bank check from the personal loot section can cause lock-ups if you happen to have the item in the bank. It tries to loot the item over and over interfering with other actions, ei (tanking, healing...) this might be limited to solo/molo play, I forget. hoping real life will settle down soon and I will have time to dig into this.

I am having a looting issue and I am not entirely sure if it is ninjaloot or advloot... I have advloot running and added each and every TBM item in and they show as Always Need.... But they keep NOT looting no drop lore items they don't have and ninjaloot reporting they are being left.... I have a ML set and if he don't need it, it is left. I have lost a shitload of items in the last couple of days while I watch them.... it is happening in all groups (5 groups now)

A couple days ago I somehow messed up my loot.ini file and set a large number of tradeskill items I was trying to collect to ignore. I have not been able to figure out how, I'm talking dozens of different items... had to search each entry and change them all back to keep.

What exactly does the spam say... it should report each item as its checked name, ini setting and action takin

first check is to leave anything marked =ignore and spam /echo NINJADVLOOT: SharedList: ${ITPName} is set to ${IniEntry}. Leaving item.

second check is lore items, spam varies a bit and includes these:
/echo NINJADVLOOT: SharedList: ${AdvLoot.SList[${i}].Name} is Lore and I have one. Giving to ${Group.Member[${g}].Name}
/echo NINJADVLOOT: SharedList: ${AdvLoot.SList[${i}].Name} is Lore and all group members have one. Skipping item.
/echo NINJADVLOOT: SharedList: NoDrop Lore ${ITPName} is marked ${IniEntry}. Setting to autoroll.

The key I think is exactly what is being reported when the item is left...
Please capture the exact phrase being used from your logs and should be able to figure out what's happening. Best get few lines before and after.

redid the af_an file watching it now to see - honestly wish ninjaloot would take notes from advloot! how do I tell ninjaloot to stop fucking around so I can just advloot in peace for now! So much loot lost!

do the items have to be in the actual alphabet order to work? I added TBM loot to the end of the file

yes it must be in the alpha categories... it checks the list sorted by the first letter of the item name... do a search of your loot.ini file I bet they is a second entry in the alpha category marked ignore...

if you manual edited your ini file use the flag =Quest|1 for LORE items you want passed out to the group, LORE items should be automatically passed out, but using the =Quest|1 will double the check.

NODROP items are bit trickier... using the flag =Quest|1 ensures everyone in the group will eventually get one.

LORE items in your bank or shared bank will prevent looting as well.

check your loot.ini setting for StackPlatValue=0 make sure it's =0, although wearable stuff is suppose to bypass this check and be keep regardless of value

check your loot.ini setting for NoDropDefault=Quest it must be quest for the item to be passed out to all group members

the last possibility is everyone must have a call to check for loot in their personal list, in the kissassist macro I changed the Sub LootStuff to add the following code.

Rich (BB code):
Sub LootStuff
/if (${AdvLoot.SCount}||${AdvLoot.PCount}) {
	/call UseAdvLoot
	/return
}

Knowing what spam your getting from ninjadvloot will help a lot... PM the spam if you would prefer.

Played with this a bit.. the Always filter only applies if the item is in the characters personal list. If the master looter can't loot the item, ninjadvloot sets the item to autoroll. Everyone in the group must select need/greed/no. if no one selects need/greed ninjadvloot reports... /echo NINJADVLOOT: no one wants >item name< leaving >item name< on corpse.

make sure somewhere in your macro's everyone is checking for loot in the advloot window.
