Hi .
Is there any plans to make next work with emu? .I was thinking of setting up my own local emu server for a laugh but I like all extra goodies with next now.
So I dont want to go back to legacy really
Thanks.

Would be really good to have Next supporting the RoF2 emu build.

Could any Next developer chime in, is it a case of correcting the offsets and sorting out some structs that changed format or is there something major that stands in the way?

I have source of an rof2 mq2 build from mqemulator.net - would I get far trying to chop that into the next source?

64 bit is the priority right now, but brainiac wants to do some work on emu after that.

From a struct/offset perspective emu is the easiest of all of the builds because the client never changes. But from a work perspective, there are abstractions that need to happen for things that don’t exist in the emu client (but do exist in later clients) so that the code base can be shared.

Emu is getting popular, heard they are pushing PEQ towards later expansions beyond OoW. Thank you for considering Emu, Devs.

Bumping this.

With news of the change of stance of DPG and the latest ban waves, I have a feeling the Emu community might start seeing an influx of players interested in MQ Next with the emulators. I've already canceled all of my Live accounts before I get an eventual ban because I have no interest in playing the game on a single toon on Live anymore.

Can we get a response as to if Emu support in MQ Next might be getting a shift in priority with recent news?

Thanks!

It has already been in the works

Yup I read that it was, which is great! Last I heard it was kind of a backburner effort, though.

Wondering if recent events might have changed the priority with a lot of Live players now feeling alienated. Might be a great opportunity to boost the popularity of both the Emu servers as well as the services RedGuides provides! :D

Having used both I'd say that the current build of Emu doesn't lack a lot of the functionality Next does. The major plugins are there, the only glaring gap I can think of is Lua.

Is there something in particular you were looking for in Next, or hoping for? I personally think the emu build works great. The only negative thing I can say is YMMV depending on server, but that's a server thing and not a knock on MQ.

Yes, folks are currently working on it as a "this is what im working on right this moment" kind of situation.

hence my answer :)

Lua is a big part of it, but there is a lot of under-the-hood improvements and things that will significantly impact things.

Lua obv
framelimiter - holy shit this thing is insane
speed/performance
benchmarking
macro evaluator
the inspectors like the window inspector etc.

just sooooo much

@brainiac and team have done so much - emu gonna have their mind blown (for emus/mq2 that adopt it)

emu doesn't/didn't super interest my play style --- buuuuut with MQ coming to emu, i'm pretty excited - sounds awesome
