Vanilla - New, slightly overwhelmed and need advice.

Hello all, new to MQ and Redguides, have played EQ on and off since release.

I recently started playing on Lazarus and decided that I was going to 6 box and run KissAssist, however, I think I overwhelmed myself with too many different plugins, ini changes, Lua and RGmercs stuff. I started to see if there was a way I could undo what I did but then I noticed everyone's videos are showing a different version of the MQ that I have. Is there an easy way to tell if I am using the correct version? in my icon tray it's the purple icon showing MacroQuest [ May 10 2013 (EMU) ] , is there a specific MQ that must be used with the Redguides install launcher? I was thinking of un-installing MQ2 and starting over from scratch as somethings just don't seem right. When I load my team and get in game, the MQ box is spamming the following.



After I run the /mac Kissassist , it finally loads



After looking over many Youtube vids, I haven't seen anyone else's screen wig out like mine does, I assume this isn't normal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to MQ and the RG Family.

If you are using the launcher, which it sounds like. You might already be on the newest build of MQ. I don't play on EMU, but I think Brainiac pushed a new build within the last couple of weeks. So you are probably good there.. As for the first error, not sure what the e3 mac is. Maybe someone that plays on Laz, can assist with the macro piece.

You need to use the version of MQ for EMU so on the RedGuides launcher in the upper right corner you should see a dropdown box that has Macroquest - Live in it. You want to change it to EMU servers. Then click the Very Vanilla button and then click on install under the white drop down box.

This will install the EMU version of MQ. Btw it’s just MQ now not MQ2.

Now to address the error you’re seeing.
You are running a macro named e3. I’ve never heard of this macro. The reason it stops when you load KA is because you can only run macro at a time. So when KA starts it stops e3.

Now you also mentioned loading Rgmercs and KA both of these are toon automations you should only run one toon automation and agin if they are macros you can only run one anyway.

e3 is mq for emu (not what RG provides, but is MQ). we have a emu section, pallydps did vids, and we have a good group of emu's here (aq1 and such), deff post in the emu section, plenty of helpful folks.

No matter what you end up using, you probably want to make sure you aren't running e3.mac at all which is in your first screenshot. Its no longer the maintained version and was never fully supported on MQ (the version of MQ available from RG).
If you got that e3 mac from lazarus wiki, that sounds like you followed some old instructions from their wiki.

Yeah, originally I did the Lazarus DL to get started. Today when I get home I'm going to do a fresh install based off the RG link and start over. I'm not heavily invested with the INI's I do have now as I just started doing the basics.
