Question - nav to zone?

Is it possible to make MQ2Nav navigate to a zone line. Lets assume invis doesn't matter for this. I'm just trying to make a long trip less hands on.

I looked at the plugin page but it doesn't list a zone line nav. I'm sure it's simple.

Also, on a related note, is there a way to show coords (loc) on your cursor on the map? For example, I could navigate to a zone line manually by /nav loc XX XX XX if i knew the loc.

TIA.

Hey Thal,

There's already a plugin for this its easyfind! /plugin mq2easyfind

Then you can go to anything in the find window by clicking on it or going /easyfind "Blightfire Moors"

You can also go /bcga //easyfind "Blightfire Moors" you need meshes buit for it to work

Going across multiple zones would be even cooler, but I'm always at the keyboard when my chars are logged in (except bazaar) so I can do the instructions. Now, if there WAS a way to nav to, say, burning woods from PoK that would be even cooler but i'm ok doing one at each zone in.

You could write something like what eqmule wrote for the POK port stein that would run you around a specific zone path you choose....

I have also found it handy to target a mob near the zone line and have my mage /nav target then once she arrives she can coh the group and it looks less like botters chasing each other.

Take a look at the macro I wrote in the post linked below. It navs over multiple zones. You'd need a set starting point but once you understand it it should be fairly easy to modify. The one in the attached just gets everyone to PoK but I have since created others to go from PoK to zones I frequent. All I do is /bcaa //mac gotoXXXX and it runs there and ends the macro. With the new command line options from MQ2Easyfind it will be even easier. I used locations to cross zonelines.

The main things you'd need to do is find the zone ID's along your path. There is a list somewhere on the forums from THD or Chat I think. Then simply modify to fit your needs. I was experimenting when I wrote this mac so there are lots of things that can be shortened or cleaned up, but you get the idea.

All you'd have to do is change the main loop Zone ID's and change the /call descriptions. In the relevant sub sections below change the /nav loc or /nav door variables to /easyfind zonename.

I haven't seen EQMule's stein mac, but I'm sure it's the better option.

Thanks! So, just out of curiousity, is it possible to read text from a window in game? The zone guide perhaps? Because if that's the case, then it would certainly be possible to jump from zone to zone using it's information.

Of course, I haven't even began to look into how MQ2 language is and how it's syntax is so I'm not sure about how much of an undertaking that could be.

Going to check this macro out.

I was just thinking the same thing as I responded to you but that part is a bit above my head. Though creates lots of possibilities.

Sometimes when I use the ZoneGuide to set start and set end then activate path, each time I zone in and re-activate path, my toon starts running again. I don't always get the yellow/blue line of the nav, but I will get the innate yellow smoke line as I run, and the innate red line is always on my map showing my path.

I should probably just get around to writing something that uses the zone guide. I've put it off for a while in hopes that MQ2Easyfind would be updated to navigate multiple zones. I suppose I've not been called on in a while and have some time to look into this.

I can program in a few languages and I have a tad bit of time. I'd be happy to help with this (and learn something about MQ2 macros in the process). I know it's not C or JAVA but I'm willing to learn something new.
