Problem - My characters keep casting buffs over and over again

anyone able tell me why my toons are going full stupid mode and keeps recasting buffs over and over again? It seems as if nothing i do stops this.

have you made sure to define the MA by right clicking them and making them the assist?

dunno if that will help but if you havent done that Id try that

Aye I have indeed made tank the MA mofos just keep casting group buffs in spare time lol

It is almost as if the entire program is going fubar group watch is on cleric heals no one but the tank etc makes zero since ive used this program over 6 years and ive never had this issue.

Chanter is not mezzing when its set to on with spell provided healers are not healing anyone but the MA when set to watch group and heal all like wtf is going on

Only two reasons why this might be happening...

1) Someone ninja buffed your toons with a better buff and yours is being blocked.
2) Toons are buff locked .... have maximum number of buffs allowed on them with all AA extra buff slots.. event awarded buff slots / progression awarded buff slots.... and there is no room to buff them.

Outside of that I see no GLARINGLY misconfigured entries in your ini.

However... just to make me happy....

Please do not leave a NULL entry when there are further buffs to cast... ( example buffs7 ) and remove the nasty Buffs4=NULL at the end... since you actually have one defined for buffs4 in the list.

Thats just cleanup... but never know how it might be effecting you... for laughs... clean up what i mentioned and retest.... and pay attention to the message when they getting buffed... ( re the blocked or locked and you not noticing it? ).

When I have this issue, I always just click off all buffs on all characters. Run Kiss on ALL toons in the group. Wait for 2 minutes(that's the timer set for them to buff like crazy) Are they still buffing? If so go to the Buffer and read the message. Does the message give you a clue? Then go check the Kissassist_Buffs.ini file. There will be an entry for each group member, look at the Buffs entry. There should be a list of buffs for each character.

Also consider, if not all group members are updating the kissassist_buffs.ini file then the buffers will just keep trying to buff over and over.

I have also seen where the kissassist_buffs.ini file gets set to read only. You may want to check that.

I have tried all this why im so clueless atm. If i leave running for 30 mins or so it eventually stops but for first 30 mins they mem correct spell de mem it then load buff cast it load spell de mem spell load same buff cast etc for about 30 mins. I have turned Ma off my buffs put |once behind each one indicating to only cast it once etc just keeps doing what it wants. My chanter page is set to mez and is not mezzing at all. Did with Rapture line but will not with Apathy its becoming quite annoying.

I was getting a ton of errors after attempting to upgrade to kiss 10. Nothing I tried fixed it. In the end I nuked it from orbit and started over (isboxer eq mq2)

Only thing I kept was my custom ini files.

It solved the problem, might be worth a try.

I think Mara is pointing you in the correct direction. I think there may be something corrupt in your MQ2 install. The rebuffing has a lot to do with what is being stored in the Kissassist_buffs.ini file and if for some reason your characters just aren't getting correct info, then there is no stopping them from buffing over and over again...

The reason for your issue is most likely because of buff stacking issues. Talisman of the Brute won't stack with Focus line spells.

My shaman spammed buffs too when I had Focus of Spirit in the buff section with Talisman of the Brute... And if the buffs over ride each other (these dont I think, just brute is outright blocked by focus) it's even worse since they'll keep rebuffing those two buffs endlessly.


A similar issue too (may be yours) that I experience

When I put my characters in a raid setting a majority of the time they will buff every single member of the raid individually even with group spells. Say group 1 has bob, tom, tim, jimmy and tod. They'll buff Bob with a group spell and tom, tim, jimmy and tod get it too. But Kissassist doesn't "check" their buffs it just checks if it cast a buff on them, which it didn't. So it ends up group buffing the whole group instead of group buffing 1 person per group.

This happens when the kissassist_buffs.ini file hasn't gotten updated by the individuals getting buffed. There is a timing issue between when the characters get buffed and when they update the Kissassist_buffs.ini file.

The Buffer looks up the target's Buff entry in the kissassist_buffs.ini file. If the current buff is not found in the list of buffs in the buff entry, then the Buffer will cast the buff.

I think the writeBuffsTimer is set to 30 seconds, so the buffs on each character gets undated every 30 seconds.

We could do the same thing with this that we did with checking for buffs. For the first 2 minutes after starting kiss the buffers buff like crazy.. We could switch the WriteBuffsTimer to 10 seconds for the first 2 minutes then revert back to 30 seconds. But personally I don't see an issue with the way it is..

Also remember that if a member of your group is not being run from the same MQ2 instance, then the buffers in your group will keep trying to buff that group member.

I'm fairly confident the level 60 version doesnt stack since I just reactivated my shaman recently and I had the same exact issue you were having (as well as the other one I mentioned).

The majority of folks here only run 1 group so they would never even run into the issue I described. I'm definitely in the minority as far as putting a whole raid of chars together. I also didn't even really notice the issue until I switched back to TLPs.

Not to hijack the thread but I have a question about Kissassist and rezzing characters and I haven't felt like making my own thread about it.... In the recent updates of KA did you make it not rez characters outside of the group? If so, how can I turn that back on? I used to have 1 char on my raids dedicated to nothing but rezzing but I have noticed that recently no one will rez outside of their group.

Turn autorez on =1 then when asks what item i type name of my epic mofo tries to rez every corpse in sight despite in group raid or anything.

But as for the level 65 shaman buffs focus stam str dex and agil all stack with focus and increase to the stats. Though the str and dex share a buff slot.

I personally haven't made any changes to the Rez code. The only change I made recently had to do with the new ini setting for RezAcceptOn now having 2 args.. The default is 0|98. The second argument will set your minimum percentage rez you will accept (/rez pct 98)

I mostly use /mac autocleric with cleric on lower levels but even my ini set up is quite basic nothing special as i mentioned above.
