Good morning :)
I don't know if it's the latest update, or if it's something I am doing wrong, but it doesn't seem that BYOS / BYOS Custom is working for me. I am trying to choose my own spell set, but every time I remove a spell, it immediately re-memorizes the spell. As you can see in the GIF below, if I remove a spell, it immediately gets re-memed, even though I have BYOS and am in Manual mode. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Turn off byos custom, load your spell set, then turn byos custom on

Watch the byos custom video. If you change the lineup to something else, you need to set the custom set to that.

Watch the byos custom video. If you change the lineup to something else, you need to set the custom set to that.

What's the most optimal group of settings for fast group killing to get max dps?

I have a sk/shm/brd/bst/mag/nec. 112-113 levels right now. The necro gets beat in dps by the shaman in hybrid mode. The shaman pets better and the shaman himself out dmgs the necro. It's not like this is 'crucial' since things are dying pretty fast, but I'm curious if there are settings that I can turn on/off that would improve DPS. I tried to set dot mana at 100% and see if necro would nuke more and it didn't do any better that way. Maybe necros are just REALLY REALLY bad at group dps?

Yes...

They just dont have time to spin up, when in modern game, mobs die in 12-25 seconds.

Feels surprising to see them lose to a shaman and bard, though. I didn't expect them to be high, but they're definitely way lower than expected on average.

Necros need a couple focus spots, what they REALLY need is AA's, and time to go through rotation. First one is a little work, second, as the teams AA's go up, kill time goes down, and makes the necro stay the same, when in reality, they arnt getting the time for the stuff to hit. 5 dots = about 12 seconds (maybe little more, little less), the last one wont second tick until 18 sec, mobs already at 40%..

yep what durango said, and think about it - depending on when the "tick" is registering, you might have your dot on the mob several seconds before the first server tick registers
 
There's a point, somewhere around the 90s to 120s mark after engage when the Necro DPS takes off. Before that, it's not great. Also, Necro dots have a big fulmination hit when they expire, so you actually need their dots to run for the full duration. This is why they're amazing in raids but suck in groups.
 
If I may make a suggestion.

If UseGatheringDusk is checked. It would be much more beneficial for it to be used directly after Spire and Hand go off.

As it stands now you might be able to get the benefit of it for a few ticks of a dot or 2 due to Gather being cast immediately.

is there any chance of upping max assist range to maybe 200 on all caster classes? looks kind of funny watching people run their mages and necros in and out of the silence ae on the paladul raid.
 
This is a feature request so I don't know if you care to have it here or not, but I think it would be nice to have a Rez toggle for just "Rez Healer" so it won't try to Rez anyone if there's another rezzer in the group. I blow through a lot of essence emeralds if I turn it on and some people occasionally die in harder missions because the necro rezzes lightning fast (which is awesome) but instead I end up leaving it turned off, and have to turn it on when the healer dies occasionally or pull out a healer merc.
I personally think this would be super valuable for anyone running necro in a party.

Edit: Also, necro doesn't have a pet taunt toggle option like the mag and bst do? I see it in the ini file but when I do /nec it doesn't show up as an option and there's no UI setting for this either so not sure if it's being used at all?

no, don't have plans on doing that - ignoring the tank when the necro could get a rez off while the priest is finishing casting their spell trying to save the group --- turning a "healer only" doesn't fix that. and at least currently, i don't plan on having 16 classes represented to get rezzed or not. you could always use an LEM if you really wanted to toggle, but sounds overkill. EEs are free and very easy to come by.

re: pettaunttoggle. yep sure does, it is on by default. I never put it in the window or the output commands (i'll add them)

but if you did /nec pettaunttoggle you'd see what it is set to

I don't think anyone cares to have a 'rez specific class'

There should be two toggles.
Toggle 1: Rez (already exists)
Toggle 2, subtoggle: Rez Healers (only rezzes classes that can rez if toggled on)

Nobody else gets rezzed but healers. Your scenario makes no sense. I'm not saying to get rid of the existing rez mechanic if you want to keep it. I'm going to make an assumption that the vast majority of necro players would prefer 'rez healer' over normal rez because nobody is wanting to be draining hundreds of essence emeralds. This would be better if the plugin tried to snipe non-rares for essence emeralds, but it rarely produces them.

The only time someone is turning on necro rez is if they're in an area where they never die already. If you're running mq2grind, you can run the same ToL/NoS dungeon 50 times in a row with no deaths and then randomly have deaths 5 instances in a row in which 15 essence emeralds get blown away. EEs are hardly 'free' when you're grinding hundreds of hours for levels and tens of thousands of AAs. It consumes time to get it back.

Sure, once you're no longer grinding exp and AAs, then rez healer is probably not as useful, but for hundreds of hours of grinding, it most certainly is way more useful than rez anyone.

Edit: as for pet taunt toggle. If you type in /nec and it shows every property. It doesn't show up in this list...that I saw. The property might still be there but it's not returned to know it exists unless you look in the ini. Unless i'm blind but I did not see it.

You can make a lem to toggle on/of rezzing based on your healer being alive or not for your use case.

And yes, EEs are free. You can literally print them for free

necro rez has lots of use cases... I'm not sure what you're trying to push here but the current design is great! EE's are easy to come by....
 
I'm getting ready to do a PL and I got really excited because the camp has manageable adds. So no Chanter. That means A 5 plugin PL Shammy Pally, Mage and of course 2 Necros both wearing Spectral Robes did I mention 2 Necros my favorite PL group
 
Hey folks! So for my lvl 120 necro I decided to turn on useaoe as I've been wanting to toy around with it.
Upon doing so it loaded up my Remote Sphere of Decay Rk. II spell (Level 104).
The issue is I have the Remote Sphere of Rot Rk. III spell as well (Level 118).
So it's choosing to mem the lower level spell instead of the higher.
If I reeeeally want to use the spell I can just byos it. I just wanted to make it known in case it's a nice
quick easy fix. (If those indeed exist).

I did read through the discussion before posting in case it had already been addressed and I didn't see it.
I apologize if I overlooked it.

my nec (120) stopped to spawn his pet, what can be the reason for this behaviour?
i have checked:
- using latest version
- blocked spells
- blocked pet spells
- no byos

Any ideas?

Do you mean he stopped spawning his pet, or stopped mid fight to spawn a pet?
 
I am not sure if it is the same as a mag, the CWTN plug in, there is an option to combat summon pet on or off. Is that checked or unchecked? Not sure what type of tool your using to control you toon.

Are you saying "stopped making his pet" or "stopped combat to make his pet"?

Are you out of bone chips?

If you have combatsummonpet turned on, you'll stop combat to summon and buff pet.

Bone Chips been the issue, and i know now why i ran out, the TS Consolidator plugin moved it to my main char. I just added it to the block list

just confirmed that we respect that for purposes of doing things we respect IVU

keep in mind, some ivu (outside of bard dual invis) actually doesn't properly apply upon zoning - or maybe the buff is getting applied too late and you're getting aggro when you log in, this has been an issue since at least ToV.

but no, we appear to be doing as expected here.

Jenkies! Ok, I really want to believe this, but I just camped out my mage who has nothing running and he was sk group perfected ivu'd and when he got back in world he still had it. I'll try a full camp out... nope still ivu'd.

Hmm.. another oddity I'm noticing is my necro is autoassisting and breaking ivu and casting, even though he's in manual mode. I thought they didn't do that, but this is my first caster plugin so I may just be dumb. He does seem to respect the camp radius if that helps.

so there is/was an issue - but had nothing to do with ivu versus regular invis at all

Woot! As long as the mystery is solved and I'm not crazy lol. Thanks for working with me and figuring it out so quickly

As a side note I tested ivu-ing with a paladin and zoning and it stayed on him so maybe that got fixed.
