Plugin - MQ2Necro (1 Viewer) 3.1.52471.11

If this has been discussed before I missed it in and apologies for the repeat -- BUT -- Should a Necro have Epic 2.0 equipped in today's world (a 120 with a whole support team to build AAs)?

We're ready to add this plugin to our collection for my wife's underused Necro and it isn't clear about whether the Epic 2.0 is still the best weapons to equip.

nah, not any more (and previously you'd want your 2.5)

but nah they added *severe* diminishing returns over like 85 in the past couple years so it is no longer worth it

I would suggest the 1h dagger + shield if you're needing a little extra mana, or the 2hander for dmg proc (can use a proc type 7 in a group weapon or (2) proc augs in a raid one) - with sympathetic amplification it is pretty significant damage

No. Its crit modifier was devalued about 16 months ago, no longer works above 100. get you a nice hefty 2hd, throw some sympathetic procs in it :hfive:
 
Bug report

Synopsis:
Spell set "Group ManaTap", not loading an interim upgraded spell that is scribed in book. Persists loading the first spell from list.
i.e. spell list is at levels 58, 70, 74, 79, 84, 89, 94, 99, 104, 109 and 114.
Have only 58, it loads 58. Scribe 89, it loads 58. Scribe 114, it loads 114.


Scenario:
Necro is 115 with many spells bought in the range lv 1 - 60, after which my purchases have ibeen very selective owing to cost and buying what know i would use. Correctly, the plugin advises of "missing" and spams a list, spell by level order through to current expansion / level of necro, i.e. ToV.


Specifics:
This is from the spell set, "Group ManaTap". The plugin decided to load "mind wrack" the first level spell of this set as level 58, and the only one i have in the book. (Until this plugin education, i have been oblivious to the spell line and the mana giving it can do for the group).

After seeing the spell in use, appearing frequently in the cast orders per mob fight, i thought to get it upgraded and see what it does. For expeience, I bought the "thought flay" as level 89, the sixth spell of the set from PoK.

The plugin did not load it, it kept the "mind wrack". I tried loading the 89 myself, but the plugin re-loaded the 58 itself.

A later shopping visit to ToV i buy the "mind erosion" as level 114, the highest could use as a 115 necro, and the plugin does load that correctly.


Observation:
It loads the 58. The missing spell list was long, as it detailed something like 9 spells of the various levels through to the 114. I recall after buying the 89, and the refusal for it to use in preference over the 58, the missing list read something like 70, 74, 79, 84, 94, 99, 104, 109 and 114. i.e. correctly not reporting the 89 as its scribed, which is the detail i was looking for. This felt odd, as the parse of spells can see it, but no clue why it wont use it.


Thoughts:
This isnt a significant problem, its more annoying, as it can be mitigated by buying best available from the "missing" list.

Yet, it feels like a bug, I would expect the load to be of best scribed for the list. Especially as my read of spell details from allakhazam suggests they are direct upgrades.

You can just say what spell by name you expect, is missing if the plugin doesn't say that it is using that spell, it won't memorize or use it.

Buying stuff it says you are missing is always your best bet. If you are missing stuff that is available to you - get it as soon as you can. mind erosion at 114 is 3420 mana at rk i --- mind wrack is 300 :p

if we were lvl 89, mind decomp is still being used, meaning mind flay is missing. easy fix

I was over thinking and over complicating it.

As simple as that one spell, not being included in the code that defines the group manatap list.
I had thought it was a problem parsing mid entries in the list.

What are the odds, the fluke, of me going to buy a spell in pok that's missing from a defined list. :lol:

Love the Necro plugin, absolutely amazing work. however only issue i see is it is not using the Incite Ally spell line on the pet, there isn't a toggle for that spell either. am i missing something or was it maybe overlooked by mistake? again love the plugin, sooooo much better then any KA INI

thanks for the kind words

we don't use those lines - if the plugin doesn't say it uses something (when it loads up and lists the spell lines), it probably doesn't use it.

not looked over, intentionally not using it for a few reasons, however- I could look at adding keeping it up if you have it memorized (byos or byos custom) but we won't be intentionally memorizing to use it

nope, no assisting issues - all the plugins work similarly, so there shouldn't be anything that "mq2mage is doing but mq2necro isn't"

make sure you understand that if you die, your MA needs to clear and re-gain target to re-assist - same with all the class plugins.

make sure the mob is in your campradius - and if you are in raidmode you have a raidassist assigned in the plugin and in the eq window

for zlandicar i'd suggest something large, like 100 or larger campradius

have the option to select 2 pets similar to how enchanter does 2 aura's. not sure if its really possible since there is no way that I know of to read what your suspended pet would be but it could make switching to tank mode pretty easy by using suspend companion mid fight to switch to the warrior pet instead of the rogue pet that would be active during assist mode. food for thought :)

there is no way to know if you have a suspended pet or what it is.

we won't/cant be doing anything like that

check your DotManaMin and NukeManaMin, make sure your mana isn't below threshold, coz they'll engage but not cast nuffin'
 
in tank mode it will try to cast Aegis of Rumblecrush immediately after casting Companion's Aegis. these do not stack. if you cast Rumblecrush first it can be overwritten by Companion's

imo the spell slot is more useful as a dot.

I'll check on the casting and overcast, mq must be reporting something incorrectly, as happens.
 
can't believe I just found out this was released.. got it! Thank you so much for adding build info such as type 3's, priority spells to get rk3, usefull class clickies etc...would rock if you had that for all the class plug ins.
 
was playing around with a charm pet and found that if you have a pet illusion clicky set up it will just try to spam the charm pet with the clicky which cant take hold.

Unfortunately there isn't anything that would say "this is a charmed pet" to designate not to use clicky that you've added.

You really shouldn't bother using charm with Necro, but if you're going to, you'll need/want to remove any illusion clicky
 
This Plugin is top notch like the others- it took me a while to figure out how to move the team. Once that was accomplished, it has smooth sailing with the exception when I feel invincible. Pulling to many. My question -does the plugin take for account any clickies -Abashi Rod of Disempowerment and the Lady Entreaty. These items may be dated now for game.

 
It wont for those specific ones since it doesnt check if it has the debuff, just that you WANT it to cast it.

The first one is replaced by:

The other one, I would add as a directed command to click it (by item exact name).

and I could be 100% wrong.

Make sure to check the sticky and the vids.

We don't use any clicky automatically unless the plugin says we do.

Any other clicky would get added to addclickies
 
Hey i needed to leave more feedback on this plugin , i admit i was alittle scared from reading the post here on how well this would perform , considering some of the mentions and the spell casting order , but sic sir i admit this is a great plugin thanks and i mean thanks for this one seriously .
 
Thanks for making the necro one! I played around with it a little this morning, and some early feedback.

Pet Tanking - I'd encourage using "Cascading Shadeshield" as well as Aegis of Rumblecrush.. Cascading actually stacks with the AA aegis, and makes the pet pretty sturdy.

Setting Puller Tank - DoT order seems to be Pyre of Va Xakra -> Zelnithak's Pallid Haze -> Dual Disease.. I really think Venom would be a better dot choice than haze based on damage.

I think I figured out the DOT issue i'm seeing.

Spell gem #3 is both Aegis of Rumblecrush and Extinction, so in the tank modes, Extinction isn't memorized/cast.
Spell gem #5 is both Frigid Salubrity and Glistenwing Venom, so in tank mode, venom isn't memorized/cast.

I haven't seen Cascading Shadeshield memorized/cast yet. It's different from Companion's Aegis and Aegis of Rumblecrush.

well like i said, it does use cascade, but as you've already figured out, we don't memorize it, so if you do want to use it you can byos/byoscustom.

and this item is a 3 hour reuse, we're not going to add special usage for this as each person is going to have different times/events they want to use it on. same reason we don't use 7th AA
