Problem - MQ2Nav on a new windows 10 laptop

I recently got a new laptop that came with windows 10. EQ and MQ2 are running just fine on the laptop except for mq2nav. For some reason when I type '/plugin mq2navigation load' in game I get an error saying 'mq2navigation could not be loaded'. I've tried everything I can think of to fix this so thought I would see if anyone else has ran into this before. I have windows 10 on my desktop and it runs mq2navigation just fine. I verified that I have the microsoft correct microsoft .net package and I know that the rgupdater included nav in my compile because I have the .dll.

Also I ran redid the compile unpack a few times on the laptop using both the new RGupdater and the old, both times verifying that mq2navigation was checked in the settings window.

I also tried deleting my whole mq2 folder and running the rgupdater from scratch.

I also manually added mq2navigation=1 in the macroquest.ini.

My wee little brain has run out of options. Was wondering if it was some sort of system setting on the new laptop.

Anyways, throwing it out there. If anyone can think of something I haven't done it would be appreciated.

i was getting this problems when upgrading to W10 however apart from it being a missing file (dll irc)i cant remember any more.

I'm using windows 10 and mq2navigation without problem. I start the plugin manually all the time using /plugin mq2navigation (don't think it works good when you automatically start the plugin). I don't put load at the end. Always start mq2 using administration.
You might want to try and redownloading the plugin in case it's corrupted.

Even though the laptop is new - I would check for newer video drivers - manufacture or directly from Intel/Nvidia/AMD (depending on your laptop).

mq2navigation could not be loaded usually means teh mq2naviigation.dll is not in the mq2 folder.

also check properties and make sure it not Read Only

On mq2nqvigation.dll

Right Click > Properties
Click Security tab
Check your normal user name by clicking on it in Group or Usernames
If everything isn't checked in Allow ht the edit button
give yourself all Permissions under allow
Hit apply
Hit ok

Everything is all checked and Im still getting the load error.

It seems like my other plugins are all running fine.

Maybe the newest navigation dll is bugged? I haven't tried navigation since the newest patch.

Like i said i have windows 10 Pro and everything is working great. The mq2navigation loads no problem.

The plugin is in the main mq2 directory and not in macro?

Correct. The plugin is in the right spot.

I also have a desktop running windows 10 that is having no troubles.

I am going to try resetting the pc this weekend (windows 10 equivalent of a OS reinstall). I had heard accounts of folks having corrupt user accounts. I am not sure what else to do at this point.

Nope, actually I dont think it does. Havent even started messing with it. But I just clicked on the cortana tile and nothing happened.

work on solving that by googling some of the "fixes" for Cortana not working and you probably will fix the Nav issue too....

I got hopeful for a second when I discovered my device wasn't indexed properly. So I reinfected... That didn't do it. Also I got cortana working and nav is still not loading. I'll try resetting this Saturday and see if that fixes it.

new MS patch last night supposedly fixing Cortana, start menu, and other issues - though MS engineer states they don't know if they got them all in the new patch it is helping some folks!

if you download with anything besides chrome it breaks it, also even with chrome now you still need to right click zip file and unblock before you unzip with redguides patcher or the compile gets broken in weird ways , just my personal experience.

Most likely that's your Antivirus flagging the app or something silly like that. I have no issue downloading it using chrome, IE or Edge

You might try turning off any Asus Boost - (overclocking) and other software that is not needed to actual run. You can also try in the Nvidia control panel to make sure EQ, MQ2, etc are all using the Nvidia card and not Intels built in one.
