Hot damn, thank you guys sooooo much for this!!!

Can we use a KA client to monitor a tank?

Something like this? I am not sure where to find all of the possible variables to use.

/if (${MainTank.Hovering}) /gmail "Tanks dead, send help!"

No, my Tank is using the MQ2War plugin, this is why i need a KA client to monitor the tank as cwtn plugins don't support the mq2gmail functions.

we don't have any plans to add gmail to the class plugins.

you could make an easy macro for yourself however

I am using this and can send a few emails with it but after a couple of hours it starts giving me Mail Error 334 and error SMTP session and I have to reauthorize.

nothing has changed in this plugin with regards to that since it was created. I would have to spend some time going through it to see why that is the case, but that energy is likely better spent on our long term solution plans
 
So after a while of using this I start to getting this message
[MQ2] Accesstoken Deleted
[MQ2] Malformed auth code.

I have it set up on my desktop and laptop. And in time it happens on both. It seems I have to delete the auth code in the mq2gmail.ini and redo it. But it happens again after I turn on/off Kiss a few times.

Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry to hear about the troubles.
nothing has changed in this plugin with regards to that since it was created. I would have to spend some time going through it to see why that is the case, but that energy is likely better spent on our long term solution plans
 
I'm having the same issue. Was working fine for a bit, then getting the error. I re-entered a new auth code and it's not saving it to the ini. I haven't tried to just delete ini and start over, though.

I've been getting the same thing for months and basically stopped using the plugin because of it. Tried to get it up and running again today, followed directions and same Malformed Authcode error. Is there a better/working solution to handle email/text alerting?

did you check the video with the short-term solution in adjusting your gmail to allow "unauthorized" apps?

It works for the test email, however when I then try to actually use it via script I get a malformed authcode error and would have to delete the INI and generate/paste the code again.

Anyway, its not the end of the world. I was just looking for something I could use in conjunction with spawnmaster. I use SEQ, however I like individual alerts on toons instead of 1/machine.

I recommend updating the AT&T code to:

xxxxxxxxxx@txt.att.net

Didn't have any luck with the @mms.att.net due to it's for pictures/video, but I successfully received a text after updating to @txt.att.net
 
Just an FYI for anyone who has enabled less secure apps for Google.... this will on occasion disable itself, especially if it isn't used for a while. So if it stops working, go back and re-enable less secure apps in google. If you rely on this and you NEVER die, then you may want to make a habit of checking this setting on occasion.

Now... how do i make this work? :) I can email myself within the game, but I'm uncertain on where the following stuff goes (in the servername_character.ini?)

GMail3=Tell
GMail4=NULL
GMail5=NULL
GMailSize=5

Does the Tell feature actually work? I breezed through some of the posts, and it looks like it may not? I definitely would love to have something that can alert on Tells or GM presence. I am at keys 99% of the time, but on those occasions when i run up for coffee, bathroom, or to yell at the kids, this feature would be great!

Any idea of an ETA for something like this? As far as I'm concerned, it makes WAY more sense to just make a generalized SMTP plugin instead of tying yourself to Google. No reason people couldn't sign up for an account at sendgrid or other free service if they don't have some credentials to an SMTP server.

Just a headsup: The "easy fix" does not seem to work no more.
Even that I allow unsecure apps its still get blocked.

Yes. As I told you in pm.

Gmail has 2 places that it does that. And they also re-enable it automatically after a while. Google is poo
 
Is this still working?
Followed the instructions and turned on 'less secure apps'
but when I test from EQ it is blocked with no option to authorise

yes, but as discussed in this thread in a few places - gmail has put a hammer down on "unauthorized apps" meaning any apps that folks don't want to spend 10-100k to get "authorized". in the mean time you have to "enable unauthorized apps" in your gmail - gmail will time this out and will re-enable it even if you turn it off, so it doesn't last long. its poo

I have a working replacement - hopefully that will see the light of day soon
 
Thanks for what you guys do but I'm guessing there has been no new update to this? tried all the work arounds and no luck
