MQ2Ghost

I'd just use MQ2copen

I dunno if it would defeat the purpose of ghosting though, the whole idea is to not get agro right? There might be mobs in the area that might attack. If nothing is around the chest though, MQ2COpen would work just fine.

I am actually concerned with mobs around the chest...that is why I tried it and found it wouldnt work. After just a few minutes there are like 5 mobs around the chest. All within aggro range and when you /open with a rogue POOF - you lose SOS and all the mobs are on you.

Try this then....

1) Stay at the succor spot/zone-in
2) /plugin MQ2ghost
3) /plugin MQ2copen
4) /tar <the chest>
5) /open ( from the succor spot/zone-in
6) /ghost on
7) /warp t ( ontop of the chest )
8) /loot

Non ghosting version:
I did something similar to this last night out of necessity. With appropriate plugins stated previously MINUS ghost.
Basically from zone in, /tar <chest name> , /open, /warp target. At this point I thought I would be ok, however it wouldn't let me loot the chest due to mobs agroing me. I got a message stating something like " you are unable to loot while mobs are aware of your presense".
So what I did was just run off training the mobs away WHILE keeping the chest targeted, then when I felt I had gone far enough away, /warp target again. Still wouldn't let me loot so I then used /fade while still at chest... THEN soon as I popped back in, looted and /succor.
I repeted this until I was done with my task. Super easy. Matter of fact if there hasn't been a write up about this task I might have to make one.

Random, or anyone else with the source for that matter, think you could gimme the dll file for this back on 11/1/05 patch? I need it for EQEmu will redcent anyone who does it. If no one wants to that is also fine. Thank you in avance.

I love this and use it all the time... However i was wondering. Has anyone turned ghosting on... ran across zone or wherver it is you're going and then been attacked by a creature (or pc) at the location you turned your ghoisting on? If so is there a way so that once i turn ghosting on and someone attacks my target ring it'll say im oor? Thanks in advance!

just because sgresham was so polite:

May seem like a stupid question, but i have never used this plugin before and am fairly new to MQ all together. Is there a way to kill stuff while ghosting? or is it just a means of exploring/moving from place to place without dying?

Take the time to read this entire thread, it will explain the exact usage of this plugin to you.

On a side note, if you are new to MQ and RG's, you will probally need to do alot of reading of this site and others to become proficient in the use of MQ and its various plugins and macros.

Ok apparently, the plugin is working very well, besides the fact that people can still see you when ghosted, because i was running around a zone and looking around and wandered up on a group, and one of them sent me at tell asking, May I help you?...and i was like Huh?...they said, well you walked up to us and was staring, was wondering if there was anything we could help you with?.. Problem is, I know for a fact i was ghosted, but they saw me anyway....So those of you ghosting, be aware people might be able to see you

That is scary, how is it possible that other people can see you in Ghost mode? Can someone explain this so I know what to watch out for??

The DLL has been taken down due to safety concerns. I'd advise against using it until someone fixes it.

You can not be seen unless you target something. If that group did see you, they must have seen you in a flickering type state. When I use MQ2Ghost (with other .dll's) to melee stuff, it shows my character on other computers flickering in and out at the monster but it will show him just standing at my ghost 'on' (safe area) just standing there. He will do a cast animation if casting but thats about it. When I 'ghost on' and move out (not using a warp) it shows me standing in one spot. Or if I warp back to my healer whome I have healing from my ghosted position (sometimes reposte or a stray hit) and move around then turn 'ghost off' it will look like I mini warped from where I started to ghost from to my ghost off position.

Weird that they could see you, even on showeq when using it from another comp, it will show your position as from where you turned on ghost.

Well, I had nothing targeted at the time, I just passed by and poof they saw me, but i know i was ghosted, i know for a fact, but they saw me anyway, apparently, it still allows you to be seen by players, Mobs however still cant see me

hmm, that is very strange Sgresham. I tested ghost yesterday by watching myself from another computer and I couldnt see shit. /shrug,
my copy works just fine not sure whats gong on with yours.....very stange indeed...

So the DLL is down how do I patch this into my REDGUIDE 5.2 compile? I have the download from microsoft and installed all that so I know how to compile into my own vanilla MQ2.. I don't know about offsets so I'm guessing my warp and stuff wont work. so how would I go about doing this?

Just tried mq2ghost its not working atm. you can /ghost on but will CTD if you /ghost off. Needs an update.

Let me talk to RG. If he's okay with it, I'll post an updated version.
