MQ2BuffMe

Release MQ2BuffMe

First off i did check the buffme window and nothing appeared there. all that would happen is the border of the window frame for my caster would blink (i have split screen so i can see both at the same time) and no msg would popup on either side.
Second i did check the language and yes my begger had it on a language that he was only like 36. i verified with all languages and if the caster does not understand the begger then nothing will happen. i tried one language i had at 84 and it would work 1 out 5 tries. So lesson for today is finish maxing out all my languages. Side Note: my caster is proficient with all languages and at 100 on all of them.

Thanks for the tip it now works as advertised. Now if there was a way to integrate buffme with alphabuff to where i can right click on an expired buff and select one of my toons and it automatically sends back the buff, that would be the icing on the cake.
this buffme window, which shows all the stuff that is queued and for whom it is queued, and the position of the queue

here 1 sk and 2 berzerkers requested "all" from a shaman

yes i did look at that and nothing showed up till i changed the language
yep.

I was mentioning about you showing the output and not the buffme window, as messages that were received and processed would display there, because you were asking about a limit, and showed the plugin text output and not the buffme window.

but it sounds like we're all past that now, where i said to check languages and you did.

there are a few language macros/luas which will get your languages all to 100, definitely worth doing on all your toons

Since yesterday's patch, MQ2Buffme has been a bit hit and miss for me - not sure why. I sometimes buff my group and many toons won't do a "buffthem" at all. If I log them out and in again, they will work but then fail to respond later. Sometimes one will and the others won't. They are all running CWTN plugins. MQ2CWTNBuffs is loaded on everyone.

I have tried "/dga buffthem charname all". I've also tried directly on various toons (with a DanNet command). Buffing manually works, of course, but I've been spoiled by MQ2Buffme.

It's odd. I don't think I've changed anything so it does seem patch related (or, quite possibly, I'm doing something dumb!). Anyone else experiencing this?

no behavior was changed in the plugin, it is possible eq changed something (like internal tell color, which would be surprising af), but hearing a "sometimes work and sometimes doesn't" makes me question the things that could have changed eq wise

"/dga buffthem charname all" - This isn't valid /dgae /buffthem charname all is how you would do that. they need to be in your guild (if buffguildonly is turned on), they need to be within 120 range from you, etc

you should consider turning off "buffmesilent" so you can get a reply if you requested something invalid.

I would double check the basic stuff:
- are your toons all able to understand one another (language) --- you can use [tell instead of /tell like [tell bilbo buffme endure poison if you don't or cant ensure that everyone is able to understand languages correctly

Hi Sic - quite right - I typed it incorrectly above. In the game, my hotbutton does use /buffthem.

It's interesting. I camped one character and logged her in again and she now works (at least for now). I did the same with another and he now works too. I'll see if there is anything I can replicate to make them stop working. It may be a local issue I have (and it's manageable!)

Just to follow up on this, I assume I must have had some form of local corruption.

When I investigated the issue further, I saw that every account had MQ2Mage, MQ2Ranger, MQ2Enchanter and MQ2Cleric loaded, irrespective of their actual class. I have no clue how that happened! Pluginman didn't appear to be reporting correctly but these were showing up with a /plugin list. Having unloaded the errant plugins, MQ2BuffMe is now working as intended and will hopefully stay that way. I'll keep an eye on it for a few days.

This has to be a local issue so sorry for raising it here!

The plugins can (and should) be loaded on all toons, they won't do anything unless they're that class, so it is something you can ignore.

Infinity % unrelated.

But happy to hear you're working as expected

Ah, OK. That's good to know. A red herring then. Either way, all appears to be good again so I'll stop posting and simply thank you for being so responsive, as always.

you're welcome Whodis - this morning i made a bunch of pretty pictures for you that somehow never posted, so that's a bummer.

Please let me know if you end up with any further issues. I've added some additional debugging information that'll be in the next build that would help identify what/where an issue is if one was occuring.

anyhow - happy to help!

happy buffing

Well, today the problem came back so I looked more closely. Oddly, all of my toons appear to work if I specify the spell name I want - it's just the "all" option that doesn't always work. That will sometimes work on one or more toons but then, after a while stops working (but will often work again if I log them off and on again).

It's very odd. It's not a major issue as I have now set up hotkeys to ask for buffs individually but when the additional debug info you mention above becomes available I'll add more info if it reveals anything. I assume I need to wait for a new release of VV (Live Servers) before I can use it though, right?

well patch, and then do a /buffme debug --- then request again --- pm me with the output

there's nothing super special about the "all" flag --- obviously they need to be running cwtn plugins for "All" to work

if anything (including "all") was invalid you would receive a tell back saying what you requested was invalid (with buffmesilent turned off)

Will do - thanks! Right now, with BuffMeSilent turned off, I get 2 responses from non-buffers. The first says "You can request a spell by name." The second gives an example (Endure Poison). Let's wait and see what the debug tells me.

sounds like something weird happening either a: on your server or b: on your computer.
and those toons are running cwtn plugins, and have valid "All" spells?

let's back up a bit - what *exactly* are you expecting buffwise? - so we can ensure it is part of "all" request

OK, what I'm expecting is what I was getting until the patch a day or two ago. So, for example, my shaman would buff with Talisman of the Heroic and a couple of other spells (regen, Tala'Tak - from memory). Right now, he doesn't respond at all other than the above messages when buffmesilent is false). All are running CWTN plugins (except the requestor, an SK - though I have checked on other toons and seem to get the same behaviour).

Where would I check they have valid "All" spells?

a shaman running mq2shaman would have "all" set

well, turn on the debug thing and pm me a snip of the output

OK - will do. I'll need to wait until they stop working again (or don't!) and the VV update has been done, of course!

Is
Code:
/tell toon password all
broken?

It seems to have stopped working. When I turn off silent, I get a response to specify a buff like endure poison. The specified buffs work, but ALL doesn't.

"All" only works if that toon is running a cwtn plugins.

If it is running a cwtn plugins, I'd suggest turning off overseer. For some reason I've had. A report or two of toons running overseer (and this continually collecting rewards which forces spells to get rewritten) ending up causing issues with the API function that lets mq2buffme see what spells are in the "all" group.

CWTN plugin running and no overseer running.

The toons are standing in Guild Hall looking at each other.

k.

the overseer was an example of refreshing via accepting rewards causing some issue.

my point remains the same.

I suspect if you reload both buffme and the cwtn plugin on that toon, that the "all" will work as expected again.

unsure what specifically is causing it - i haven't been able to reliably recreate it on any toons/pcs, but when i can/do, it'll be corrected.

Did buffme all stop working? I can request individual buffs but when I do buffme all nothing happens on my shaman or cleric
Hrm, didn't make any changes that would affect that.

You have to have mq2shaman and mq2cleric running to request "all"

@shiftyund I thought this might have been resolved via other updates, but possibly this is still an issue.

Do you run overseer and do a lot of rewards collecting?

Yea i'm running both the plugins. I haven't made any changes to the setup of mq2buff and I saw the stuff above about overseer but I'm not doing anything with the overseer.

I did some more testing and if my Warrior (no CWTN plugins) tells the cleric buffme all Cleric(has CWTN plugin) will buff and same for the mage(has CWTN plugin). The Shaman (has CWTN Plugin) on won't do all buffs but will do individual ones
The bard (has CWTN plugin) requests all buffs from cleric and mage and they will buff but the Shaman still won't do all buffs but will do individual ones.
All characters are on the same pc and all characters are in a group so maybe it's something with mq2shaman and not mq2buffme?

If you unload and reload mq2shaman and it works, I suspect it is related to the rewards thing mentioned

to eliminate other potential reasons - I would /buffme debug on your shaman and then send me the snip (via pm) when you try and do something with it.

I suspect it is that unknown cause mentioned above, but you might have accidentally turned it off, or be providing an incorrect phrase etc

well there is certainly something going on - @shiftyund don't worry about that other stuff, definitely an issue with the "all" i'll look at it

@shiftyund well that was annoying AF, but i did figure out the issue. will correct.

Thanks for bringing it to attention, sorry about that

Thanks Sic I appreciate the quick response and getting it fixed. I love the plugins btw thanks for making them.

I have been trying to figure this out for my toons, and have not been able to get the All to work on my CWTN characters.

I do a '/tell shamandude buffme Talisman of the Heroic', and it works. If I do '/tell shamandude buffme Talisman' or '/tell shamandude buffme focus', it does nothing. If I do '/tell shamandude buffme all', it also does nothing, and shows this error message:

The same thing applies to my Cleric.

On another note, if I set the BuffGem to 14, it doesnt seem to work. I am not sure if that is by design or not.

yeah this is somehow still a persistent problem - if you reload mq2cleric it will start working again. it has something to do with when rewards/claims get processed

if you /multiline ; /plugin cleric toggle /timed 5 /plugin cleric toggle it'll start working again

i'll take a look, it should

That worked. It allowed me to make a hotkey for Buff all like this. I could probably make it even shorter :)

Code:
/noparse /dgza /multiline ; /plugin ${Me.Class.ShortName} unload
/noparse /dgza /multiline ; /plugin ${Me.Class.Name} unload
/noparse /dgza /timed 5 /plugin ${Me.Class.ShortName}
/noparse /dgza /timed 5 /plugin ${Me.Class.Name}

/noparse /dgza /timed 10 /buffthem ${Me.Name} All

that doesn't work. not all plugins are the class shortname.

you could do something like use this Lua and do a /multiline ; /lua run cwtn unload; /timed 10 /lua run cwtn load
